  • That explains why their clothes are so incredibly out-of-date.

  • I must say, it is AMAZING how Michelle doesn't yell. Anyone in my family would be like "HEY! PUT THE FUCKING TOYS AWAY AND SIT YOUR ASS DOWN." xD

  • Michelle is such a good mom

  • I dont like the fact that she says childern dont have the right to play...I agree with taking things away for bad behavior however, childern have the right to be childern.

  • OMG! 1 buck a shoe!

  • if their groceries are 1000 bucks, why don't they do couponing? they would save so much money!

  • @lana566girl

mostly because they go to Aldi's & various scratch & dent warehouses that don't accept coupons.

  • $1000 on groceries! OMG

  • time for condoms.

  • These clowns need to find something else to do at night beides f***ing!

  • i love those scenes that show the kids running around wildly without any supervision....having that many kids is so emotionally irresponsible, there is no way they get the attention they deserve.

  • Michelle is such a great mother. If you notice when James was riding his bike in the Store, Michelle didnt Yell. She talked, shes a great Parent! its nice to see people actuly know how to parent kids!

  • @loveposh11 That's because in the Gothardite mindset, the father is the disciplinarian and I guarantee behind the cameras those kids get hit. You can also see how worn-down Michelle is.

  • I don't think there's a problem with buying second hand shoes. Most of the shoes in a second-hand shop are in surprisingly good condition. Obviously I don't agree that children's shoes should be allowed to be worn down to that extent but I can see why Michelle waits to go, it must be very tiring and time consuming to shop for shoes like that. I don't agree with all the Duggars do but I see no problem in them buying shoes and clothes from a second-hand shop, as long as they're in good condition.

  • @MissNomad428 I think Jim Bob buys second hand condoms that's why he has some many damn kids.

  • @MissNomad428 it's not like they go anywhere with them :) but I see your point too. Most of the time though little kids can go through shoes like they're paper too

  • poor johana wanted to go!

  • I wish our thrift stores were that cheap! Even baby clothes is minimum 4 bucks a peice!

  • i love jill

  • I am guessing it has to do with going all at once and also time, it is probably hard. And think about if ALL of them got new shoes, how much do you think it'd be(it tells you)? Plus shoes they get there for 1 probably end up lasting longer then getting some at Walmart(because that is probably where they'd go..)...They only seem to care cause it is hard to find what they want. But they don't seem sad about it.

  • Oh give me a break. Duggar are prosperous. If they can afford to spend $7.000 on a vehicle they done need. They can afford to go to payless, wal-marts or even K-marts for that matter and buy those kids decent better pair of brand new shoes that's not already worn down. And I estimate new shoes for 18 kids at those store to be around a $100.00 give or take. I agree with BSD1 why would the parents let their kids shoes get that badly worn out before buying them more turn over thrift store shoes?

  • I think that the Duggars value a lot of things: taking trips together in large vehicles, education, hard work, their faith. They don't necessarily value external appearances. Rare, but not a bad thing. Besides, all the children and the adults seem to be consistently well dressed (neat and attractive). I can tell you from personal experience that I have had my child's boots fall apart almost instantly. We have bought shoes at 2ndhand stores many times because kids' feet grow so quickly.

  • I agree, good lord. Just look at those shoes on their feet (that came from thrift store too) 1st. kids shoes so bad fell completely apart, Joy is trying to tape it back together. 2nd. in 2:34 and another in 2:37 and the one walking up the steps in 2:39. That is unacceptable seeing how they have reality TV show, commercial properties their renting out and cellphone tower being rented out on their property. If you can't afford to buy your kids new shoes and clothings. Stop having them!
