Even though it's in B&W, the scene with the cherry blossom trees, is I think, the most colourful in cinema history. One of the most beautiful and moving films ever made.

I saw this moviein 1969 when I was 11 years old. My parents MADE me and my younger brother and sister get up at 11pm to watch it. One of the ten BEST movies ever made in my opinion.  Thanks you Mom and Dad for this special gift. I now understand your reasoning.
