The name of the sidequest is Patient in the Desert, You can begin it, after you leave the Barheim Passage with Basch.

So,you must go to the village in Dalmasca Estersand and talk to a woman in a house,she will say that she got a woundend traveler,and you must get all the things to heal he.

(The quest can only be one after the Flowering Cactoid hunt)

You guys should not cheat and get this weapon by level 20 it would ruin the game. Play as it is suppose to play, you are not even good if you get platinium or death bringer by extremely early, it's cheat.

@arcwfd4 actually there are 2 chests there, one is an item/gil and the other is ithuno, but i think there was another request in order to appear, like staying there for 10 minutes and then reenter... or something like that

its a treasure chest. sometimes it appears and others it doesnt...which means getting three could take 10 mins or even 2 hours...all based on luck.

You can't get it before the mimic queen. You have to makes ure you do everything for the key and MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THE NIDHOGG SKIN (AKA GREAT SERPENTSKIN) so that you can finish the events for the key after Raithwall. It's prefered you are at about avg level of 30-40 with decent equipment so you can run through OR fight through. Running through to that point is best since Ithuno appears only 20% of the time and it's a long walk. I have burning bows to make things easy.

No you cant, The mimic queen is wayy early in the game, You can only get to sword after obtaining the dawn shard, later in the game. You have to complete a side quest, you need to complete the Cactoid and the snake in the Lhusu mines hunts and keep the items you get

oh and a little hint if you chain the wu's in ozmone plain when your with larsa 2 or 3 screens away theres a place where 95 spawns are Wu's and they drop kogarasumaru's i got like 9 and sold 7 of them the kogarasumaru is a katana that has 56 dmg.

AHH I just got it at level 17 zomg. Like on my 5th try (after dying twice) it appeared and then I quickening-killed all the surrounding monsters with the help of a few ethers. Then i led the thing to the barrier, healed fully and set gambits to steal. I had to go back and heal 2 times by running around t restore my MP and casting raise (i was out of phoenix downs!) Finally, I go back on last time, the thing kills everyone but Basch and finally, Basch gets it. Phew.

the sidequest is heling the guest that has been wounded, poisened, flesh-wounded and made unconscious, all by the collapsing barheim passage. go to the south bank village in the estersand and talk to the person in front of the house, get hetr the nesesecary stuff and in the end talk to the recovered lady behind to house to get the key.

before you head to this west side (where the admantite turtle is), head north and u'll find the Barheim save crystal. Save it first and then find the deathbringer. If the treasure is not the mimic or you accidentally killed it you can always go back to title and do it again.

I got the Deathbringer at level 20. There was a million guides telling me to "kite" Ithuno back to the entrance, but the truth is, you don't have to. Just keep ur characters alive until you've stolen the Deathbringer then run for your lives. It only took me 3 tries to get Ithuno and 3 attempted steals to get the sword.

In the feywood you don't have to use float you just need to take it slow until you see the !! mark

I found a deathbringer in a chest near the entrance of girguven Feywood. The chest was on top of a trap so you need float to get it or it wont work.

here is a strategy to steal from him easily.

1. kill all enemies in the way

2. turn 2 of your characters gambits off

3. have the remaining party member have a enemy = %100hp > steal gambit

4. equip him with theif's cuffs

5. cast haste on him and you'll steal a deathbringer in no time.

He has a 40% chance of appearing I think, so you'll just have to keep trying. There's no need to reload your game, just run two areas away then come back, if he's not there, repeat until he is there. Starting from the save point takes way to long, lol.

My playtime was around 91-92 hours. I'm not that far into the game either, but I enjoy talking to all the NPC's in towns and exploring areas that I'm not supposed to go to yet. Storywise, I just beat Tiamat.
