  • 3:05 is that a dude wearing the two piece bikini?

  • I WANNA GO TRAINING!!!

  • LOL so many unefficient TT bike positions....damn...

  • @JackSw1ss damn, your spelling is "unefficient". And most of those people have their bikes properly fitted so that they are as "efficient" as they should be. Just because it doesn't look efficient does not mean that it isn't. Every bike, body, and setup is different.

  • Mad funny if some1 ran past him while he was walking 2 the finish line

  • Great video! Thanks for upload.

  • Screwed! 4:03

  • The best part of any T is seeing some punk ass noob fly by one he bike clock-en 27mph and just barley whispering see you soon kid....6 hours latter the trill of the stalk and the rush of the take! O god yes gives me a shiver just writing it! YES TRI FOR LIFE!

  • is this a remix? it isn't the same as the original music

  • Imagine Steve Prefontaine Against all of them!

    Pre Lives!

  • Super humans racing other super humans.

  • why is that dude wearing a bikini >.>

  • worst music ever

  • Well that really depends on what time you want to do. If you are generally fit and can swim/ride/run at a half decent level you could probably walk out the door now and do a 16 - 17 hour IM. If you want to crack 10 hours then you need to be exceptionally fit and a proper IM build program will take about 14 weeks and will range between 10 - 20 hours per week.

  • How long do you need to fully prepare for an Ironman?

  • já cancei só de ver

  • nice video

  • lol 3:17

  • Who's Your daddy !!!!!!!!

  • quality track!!

  • the 11 people who dislike this video are couchpotatoes!!!!!!!!!

  • @jyflyn or nerds

  • name of the track?

    thanks

  • Fantastic cinematography at 2:13

  • good ending!

  • Cant wait, I take two scoops of Citruaid and thats all I do prior to my tri events I cant recomend it enough

  • you have to win a slot on any other ironman race or via the lottery.......

  • what an amazing sport - not like those spoiled punks in other sports. these guys are hands-down the most athletic competitors of any sport

  • Great music for such a kind of video. Especially fits the bike part, where it gives such a feeling of how tremendous and hard this thing is.

  • how do you qualify for hawii?

  • Great motivation! These individuals push themselves to the ultimate of their physical capacities, and then some. This prompts one word of encouragement: GO!

  • 2:29 awesome!

  • Eat rich foods in blatant excess, smoke, drink, and lounge.

  • I have no motivation for anything. I don't care to inspire anyone. And I sure wouldn't bother with this.

  • @cosg9531 you know your comments make me sick....you need to watch a Team Hoyt (Dick and Rick Hoyt) video on Youtube. If you are not inspired to get your lazy butt up and start training, then you are truely a waste...

  • @cpd781 My words cause you physical duress? It must be true, then; the power of language. By the way, the word is spelled "truly", not "truely". Perhaps you should spend some small measure of your time learning proper English, spelling and grammar; I understand that it is a most effective communication tool when used appropriately. The rest of your words are spelled correctly, however, you need to brush up on your placement of upper-case letters. Overall, though, a relatively decent try.

  • @cosg9531 U ARE NULL

  • Comment removed

  • @cosg9531 moreover it's not 'truly' but 'true' - no adverb in combination with a noun, need an adjective here.

  • @godmod2k5 You think it's grammatically correct for the phrase to read "then you are true a waste"? Wrong. It is grammatically correct for the phrase to read "then you are truly a waste". However, this is only addressing grammar. Overall, cpd781's comment was simply stupid.

  • @cosg9531 I apparently had a "typo" accidentially switching the "a" behind the word "true". What I ment was "then you are a true waste". Nevertheless if someone plays the grammar-king he'll have to accept comments on his own deficiencies.

  • @godmod2k5 You seem confused. You are addressing the wrong person regarding initial wording. I didn't write the original phrase in comment. That would be cpd781. Take it up with them.

  • i dont know how to swim. i guess im out lol.

  • chrissie wellington is a super beast 2:06

  • I feel tire watching this clip already.

  • LOL 4:03

  • Here is a training program which is easily workable around a full time life. I got 11:16 on it in my first Ironman. Biggest week is 19 hours but you can plan well in advance for it. Most of the weeks are 12-15 hours. If were to add anything then make it core stability which you can do in your office in 1-5 minute segments when you have a spare moment. Core stability benefits all 3 disciplines.all the w's.trifuel.com/triathlon/ironman-workouts/

  • Ironman...

If at least I could complete a "short" one.....

Soon, I intend to (re)start my swimming classes, and buy a road bike...

    maybe then...

  • 20 hr national squad swimming training per week plus hours of stretching, weights, recovering...

my full time job is my part time job for my full time sport

this vid, this sport, this sportsmen and women rocks

  • 20 hr national squad swimming training per week plus hours of stretching, weights, recovering...

my full time job is my part time job for my full time sport

  • Awesomeness!!! I love Running!!!

  • 8 hours to finish that iron man! Jesus

  • Hmmm i wonder if the 10 people who disliked this video can complete this event.. I bet they cant.

  • campanolo set is the best set out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

  • 2:00 worst aero position ever.

  • @brunedeezy That might be the case for that 2 second snap shot in time but don't be fooled into thinking that even elite athletes sit in the perfect wind tunnel aero position for the 4 1/2 - 5 hours it takes them to bike 180km. They even sit back on the saddle and probably have the occasional refuel once in a while which is hardly aerodynamic. I don't know if you've ever biked any long distances but trust me after 3 hrs in the saddle your ass/nuts will be begging for a break from the pressure!

  • @YardMonkey I was talking about bike fit.

  • i was on that road when i went to hawaii omg and the white things are rocks and prople wright things

  • 4.13 great

  • does anyone know how many km they have to swim/bike/run?

  • @alexandraberger 3 Swimming, 180 with the bikes and 42 running. I thought that was the distance.

  • @InternConflict

there are 3,5 km for swiming

  • @alexandraberger not sure in kilometres because Im english. But it's a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run.

  • Completing one of these is a dream to live for.

  • @SergeyMkrtchyan and its my dream :P

  • That was fantastic! Thanks for posting this!

  • so im guessing youd have to bring youre own time trial bike like that? if that was all covered thats really cool

  • As in any sport it is important NOT to believe all the ¨merchandising marvels¨offered by magz, webpages, etc. Sure you can build yourself a $8k-$10k bike, but you can also put together a $3k bike that will do 95% of what the $10k does....and actually for most of us its much more than enough. MAYBE Craig Alexander and Chrissie take advantage of all the ultra-topend gadgets, for mere mortals do not.

  • My next destination" I'm Coming"

  • Min 3:20..I thought to the end of the bycicle session, athletes should be transport alone the bicycle inside the "change area"..

..who can give me some information about that maneuver?

  • Dumb "song".

Good video with the sound off.

  • Thatz it im getting a P2

  • l'effort ultime....

  • can anybody tell me what model brand shoes they use thanks

  • thats sooo cool i will do this some day

  • The best part... was when his little son ran up to dad at the finish line. Brought tears to my eye. I've only done Oly distance so far, and have an HIM in me. A full IM... wow, what a dream.

  • why doesnt he run through the finish line?

  • favorite youtube video

  • thanks for the reply. :)

  • @thorpt211 He's a swim referee, just to make sure there're no false starts.

  • Horrrrible idea to make this a song. It should have just been the beat. Neat clips of video though.

  • Really inspiring stuff, and GREAT tune. Thanks for putting it out there.

  • Yes these people are crazy lol I am crazy haha I am training for a triathlon myself. Ironman here I come! By the way, isn't it amazing that their marathon times alone, are well below the 'strict' boston qualifying times lol

  • wow, just watching them swim, riding, and running makes me tired already! lol

but wow it must be the greatest feeling ever to ever finish this iroman tri, the greatest uber super mega feeling if u come first =D

  • its amazing what humans can do

  • those guys are MACHINES!

  • yeah theyre made of iron dude

  • @alikonamaui and women

  • Every time I see someone training hard to this crazy stuff I always think, man they are insane and inhuman this just is not possible for a human being to do and I want to compete with these insane and inhuman people also.

  • i have disease... tumor and i watch this when i need motivation and its fuckin good vid for me:D

  • wow dude that won is extremely lean.. bascially scronny.. this seems like healthy way to live a life style though.. i like to do weights and cardio as much of each untill i am muscley and yet lean and have good breathing

  • what do you guys think of the orbea TLT? comes stock with the reynolds and is pretty sick overall

  • Ya. I ride a Giant and it was not cheap.

  • Big advance in frames from 08 to 09 - last season looks dated already! - it's an expensive sport. At least US$ 8,000 for a pro bike and easly 10k if you go all out!

  • You're crazy. A Cervelo P2 is a beast of a bike for under 3000$.

  • I have a P2 & P3 - a big big fan of the P2! But...wheels alone can cost 3kUS$ - I was refering to the pro's and what they are riding now, really expensive stuff that has moved on in design a lot since '08 - the new Trek, Giant & Specialized in particular.

  • @themodestguy : Right.... Cervelo....WITHOUT a set of race wheels and LOWER end components...

  • @dgogolk1 P2 w/ Ultegra-- $2800. Ultegra is by no means low end and you can get race wheels for less than $1000.

  • @themodestguy It's not like you cannot train or race the Ironman if you dont have atleast those components... I saw a number of competitors riding worse bikes and finishing it. Dont be a slave to components.

  • @endlesspain90

Yeah, it's person to me. I could careless about how l33zer my bike is.

  • this is the singe thing i've always disliked about triathlons, the guys who make it all about the gear...

  • @fclavijo true.. i've got a 15+year old peugeot (bike) and it's just fine... at least for the level i represent. I bought a lot of 2nd hand things only to have what is essential. If i nly had enough money to travel from europe to hawaii with all my gear i would extremely enjoy competing with all of the athletes riding my old buddy.

  • @fclavijo heres an idea don't be such a freakin' naysaying sourpuss. juicebag...

  • @fclavijo gear is good for marketing... on the track skills matters :)

  • @fclavijo Hopefully you're not referring to anyone in this video. This isn't a fashion show, the gear can and does make a world of a difference. Besides, none of these ppl pay for their own equipment, they're all heavily sponsored. Plus, we're not talking about louie voutton road bike with gold plating vs. a BERU f1 lol. Better gear typically means better performance and when your in a world championship, every second counts!!

  • @themodestguy didn't chrissie wellington win kona on a p2c??? i remember seeing a video about that...

  • @CAOP24

    look at 2:15 , that's chrissie on a p2

  • @CAOP24

    look at 2:12 , that's chrissie on a p2

  • @themodestguy Jeah your right. You can get a full FELT bike for about 5k and thats a sick bike. I don't know what you would want to spent the double for? A bike is just the tool your body is the machine that matters. You can't buy yourself an iron man.

  • @aardappelpitsap "its about the engine, not the machine" is a popular saying. but in reality, you can shed a lot of time with an aerodynamic bike and wheels. the difference between winning and losing sometimes.

  • @iareshepherd If your a pro or an driven amateur i understand but we who do it for fun or just push your limits don't care about 5-10 minutes.

  • @dgogolk1 yes it's right!! one of my favourites bike it's FRM

  • ITS ALL ABOUT WHO POWERS THE STEED

  • @dgogolk1 right. and i'll bet if i covered the logos with tape, you couldn't tell me the difference between Dura-Ace and Ultegra after riding both.

  • @themodestguy true but youre not considering upgrades to either SRAM RED or dura ace, and throwing on a better wheelset

  • What do you ride? I'm trying to find a Motobecane Nemesis as an Entry level bike. I'm 5'10, and thinking about the 58cm. Does anyone know if this will be too big for me. I have large legs.

  • Best thing to do is go to the bike shop you trust that has a good bike fitter to find out if the frame will work for you they will be able to tell you exactly what size (cm) frame you will need :) good luck

  • as if those bikes look dated1111111111

  • @coolygirlconnie you make no sense

  • @coolygirlconnie You guys are nutts! You seriously spend that much on bikes ? What's wrong with a regular $900 road bike ?

  • @coolygirlconnie I can't see the point of dropping $8k if your marathon time is >3:30, but ya, i've ridden both $9k all out pro bikes and $3k really badass tribikes, and there is a noticeable difference if you're sustaining 22 mph+ So, for most people there is no need for this at all, and the people that use the advantage probably won't even have to pay for the bike out of pocket

  • 15hours is not much i train 15hours or more a week and i don't do ironman i just do triathlon sprints.

  • i have to comment on the person that says you have to train at least 15 hours a week... i think thats not the case.... it all depends on the intensity of the training sessions and how well you take care of your body.... my first ironman i trained 12 hours a week and did the ironman in 13hours and felt very good after that... so dont get fooled with hours.. you can train long hours without putting in the intencity and that can be your down fall.. listen to your body... eat well prepare well....

  • You need at least 15 hours a week training for the ironman. The Pros usually 35-40hours a week.

  • How much training is required to beable to complete an Ironman?

I wanna set myself a realistic goal. Oh and I'm a non runner, non swimmer. Got the cycling down though.

  • 5 hours training a week, Brother! It's that easy!

A realistic goal for you should be to eat 1 bag of chips instead of the usual two per sitting.

Good Luck, See you in Kona!

  • @wrightnametouse

    HAHAHAHAHA, sound advice.

  • Cycling's the hardest part in Ironman!

I did my 1st last Sept at IM-MOO. Just train yourself for a century ride, a marathon and a 4,000 yd open water swim at the same time. Cut out all the filler workouts, include some threshold and recovery work and be very, very patient.

    Took me 3 years.

  • nice video and song. but the part where the chick sings is annoying and weird

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, women should be seen and not heard!

  • i agree.. they should shut their mouths ..

  • I did my first Sprint Tri on Labor Day 2009. What an addiction. My next one is in October! Love watching these videos!

  • These things are the most addicting things ever. I started two summers ago, I can't go a day without swimming biking or running.

  • Same for me. I started my preparation 2 years ago, and now everyday I do something.

    Swimming 4/w, running 4/w cycling 3/w ...

My objective is the Nice IM in 2k10 !

  • i have an olympic sized triathlon this sunday...my uncle just did ironman canada last week and it was a huge inspiration

i learned to swim from the youtube videos...last september I did not know how to swim haha

  • I did the same thing. I could only swim 50 meters at a time without stoping.

  • I'm about to do a triathalon this Sat. I'm excited, but it is a lot of technique. I was doing lots of weight training at first but I let that go quick once i figured out what triathalons were all about. Constant brick workouts work for me, bkie to run or swim to bike..

  • Swimming is only technique. Train technique and you will be good

  • you're pretty much correct, certainly in terms of triathlon - i came into triathlon through swimming, but still swim nationally. swimming as a sport involves (especially in sprints an butterfly) a lot of strength and so we do lots of weights, but with triathlon, swimming is good for fitness. but yes strength alone will get you nowhere

  • ok but goodluck on ur future triathlon

  • awesome im 15 and am starting to get into triathalon stuff bikings a breeze runnings ok but my swimming is another story lol

  • do you run cross country?

  • i used to in middle school i just finished a 1700 mile tour in the appalachian mountains so im in shape for biking runnings no too bad but im terrible at swimming....

  • sweet.. well i'd run xc in high school if you want to be a triathlete... but being a good cyclist is harder than being a good triathlete anyways

  • train man

  • beautiful scenery - love the victory!! and the last few seconds made me cry... that was beautiful!!

  • Thanks for this video ^^ Doing my first triathlon competition today so I'm a bit nervous right now ^^
