Yes, tank-on-tank combat is something we can't expect to see too much of anymore, like jet-on-jet. It can only happen in a hot war between 2 formidable, developed nations or ones directly supported by them. Typically these days, one of the foes is a less developed guerilla or insurgent opponent without tanks.
Even more extinct is the battleship-on-battleship engagements.

@KitCox Man against Tanks. In German it's "Manner ist Panzer" or something close to it. Not a bad film. A few captured T-34's were used to make it and some get really messed up.

To put it another way, the T-34 was a ‘war winning’ tank but this should not detract from the fact that at a tactical level its performance during four years of continuous war was relatively poor. If there was ever a case for not basing a tank’s overall combat power on over simplified parameters such as thickness and slope of frontal armour, and penetration of a single round from its main gun, then the T-34’s case is it.

KIEV would had fall without a single shot after Moscow and Stalin gone.

@MrBobe9 Perhaps you have taken in too much Hollywood history here and not read enough academic work ;D Blitzkrieg wasn't really invented by Germans if the British and French theorized it in the 30's while Germans carried it out. I am not sure about this Jealousy bit as Guderian was given much authority and remained so until March 1945. After some more reading perhaps this sterotype of Hitler vs Generals is becoming as unrealistic as ever.

@initvesa If you read the Wikipedia article on the Third Kharkov Offensive of 1943 you may find that Hitler was the one advocating newer tactics promoted by people like Runstedt while the OKH were ones that held on to orthodoxy. Take Barbarossa for example, OKH advocated a straight capture of Moscow while Hitler and OKW wanted to cut off Russian oil in the caucasus. You decide who is shying away from forward thinking here.
