  • @codysilc There is an advantage. When you benchpress, you dont just push the weight up and down. You use three muscle groups to do so. Thats your pecs, deltoids and triceps. If u r a powerlifter, and you dont care about growing muscle, but more interested in weight - you shouldnt bother. But for a bodybuilder, the "suicide" grip allows to stretch and work the pecs much more, and also helps NOT use the deltoids as much. So u SHOULD use it, BUT ONLY for a 100% controlled weight, not go heavy on it

    why? for some reason when i go to heavy if using the normal grip i feel a wierd pressure on my wrist. whit this grip i dont. thats the only reason i do it. never had an accident so far, but i never go to heavy neither, i am at 205, and have never go over 315 bench.. why? cuz i like to bodybuild not to powerlift.

  • @omazzoni Actually his form was shitty. He did come down pretty fast, but the chest bounce I didn't find to be too big of a deal. It was his ASS UP IN THE AIR that is the terrible form! The way he was "digging his feet in"? I don't give a shit what he was doing with his feet, he lifted his ass up which any self-respecting lifter will tell you is a disqualification for bragging rights on a lift. He bounced, lifted his ass, and had a crooked finish. No way he could've pressed that proper.

  • What I do is 1 warmup set with 135, 10 reps, then I do 4 sets repping a weight that I can only do the first and second set 5 times without needing a spot, then I do 4 sets of that, and max on the last set. After that, I do incline bench on the dumbells, 4 sets. Once that's done, I do decline bench, then flies, then 6 machine workouts. 4 sets on each of those. It takes about 2 hours but it feels great!! I don't know how to explain the machine ones though. sorry! hope it helps

  • @jill1250 his ass definitely came off a lot, his back was arched like crazy, and "barely bounced?" Definitely more than "barely."  Because of "bouncing" I personally don't feel you should go all the way down to your chest. I've always been taught "90 degrees" for your elbows. I go slightly passed that, which is about a "fist-length" where you "go down far enough" and you can't "bounce it" since you don't touch anything.
