Flatland was a book written by (I believe) a doctorate of physics. It's written from the point of view of a square living in flatland where everything it two dimensional. Eventually the square is lifted into 3D and much like the Allegory of the Cave, he struggles to cope with the 'actuality' of his world.

To explain it simply. The president doesn't like weird shapes or colorful shapes so he made a special force to kill all of them.
And they killed the circles on accident. XD
