Surely the whole point of an RPG is that it has a personal sense of progression hence the roleplaying.

@aaron9099 I agree. The whole point is to level up and find cool things....if you buy a hero who is max level with all the cool stuff already.....well then you can't even try 95% of the games missions.

Also: As for that 14 year old, yeah, he bought a game at 13, played it for a year, sold it at 14 for 1k, made mad bank, meanwhile he probably failed all his classes, lost his social life, and has no friends :-P.

Pretty much lost a year or two of my life to WoW, botted like hell and eventually sold it when I came to terms with how little I enjoyed it for about 4-500 USD, was ranked in gear something like 2nd of my class in the server.

I'd rather have my time back, but it's not the games fault, it was mine.

I know World of Warcraft has done a lot to allow people to indirectly buy gold in the game via in-game pets they sell for real dollars. People will buy a pet with real money and then sell it in-game to get gold. Gold farmer's source of income has been decimated.

God farming isn't illegal by law. It's illegal in the games. If a game developer/admin/gm were to find out that a person was a gold farmer then the account would be banned. WOW even bans players that are caught buying it. It's a risky business, put a lot of work to get the char to point it can farm, then get caught.

Looks like a lot of people don't believe but this is actually true guys. Gold farming in other countries is becoming a large part of daily life and how people are making money. They farm and sell the gold or sell items for money from the real world. They feed their families while we feed our character in wow. How crazy is that. It really shows the seperation of life and it's such a small planet. It's amazing.
