Das Triplet (at bar 45) hoert sich vielleicht viel zu schnell an als waere es eine Koloratur.

Sie haben wirklich sehr sehr gut gespielt, etwas Schoeneres kann ich mir nicht vorstellen. *Verbeugung*

Nur am Ende... ich find es Schade! Lavare anstatt Battere hab gemerkt also achtel+punkt sechzentel und || anstatt viertel || sechzentel+achtelundpunkt, nicht?

ehmm die Triangel (Nummer 54) sowie die Koloratur der Tenortrommel hab ich leider nicht hoeren koennen.

Den leisen Einsatz am 112 hab ich sehr geschaetzt, ein bisschen Unentschlossenheit passt hier sehr gut. Und die Phrasierung des Engl. Hornes  ohne jede Unterbrechung scheint mir eine Pracht halt. Nach meinem Geschmack duerfte man nach einem besseren wirkenderen Glockenschlaegel suchen. Takte 12-13-14 als wuerden von einer Orgel gespielt, bin begeistert und sprachlos.

I remember playing this song back in my last year of high school. When we first looked at the sheet music, I couldn't believe it, 5 pages! But it was an amazing, epic last song for our senior band :)

This is definitely the best recording I've found on Youtube. Really great balance between all the different sections so that the lead parts are always able to stand out, which really makes the song for me. The build up at 5:28 still gives me the goosebumps even now!

Dit is zo'n fantastisch nummer. Eigenlijk is alles wat Jacob de Haan componeert super om te spelen. Ieder instrument heeft er iets te doen en niemand zit te luieren op zijn stoel. Je moet opletten anders ben je de draad kwijt en dat is een goed iets van een stuk.

I played Tuba on this song, and I loved it.

Tuba is generally duller to play, but being at the core of the orchestra in a song like this one is something pretty cool.

I have this exact recording of this work. This is the Baden-Wurttemberg Wind Orchestra and they are one of the finest professional bands in Europe. I like how Jacob de Hann writes for brass and he is a master at melody and at writing music for younger bands.
