It also kept freezing if it didn't crash, and the emergency restart key on my keyboard didn't work. I just had to turn the power strip the computer was connected to on and off. I now have a PC (gasp) that doesn't crash (GASP!!)

I have only gotten a kernel panic once when connecting an iPod to an iBook G3 with OS X 10.3 (I think, or 10.2), I have a feeling the problem is it was a crappy iBook G3

I have only once seen the red screen of death... I have no idea why. It was an old school computer, and it sat like that for days, no one bothered with it.

I never really had BSOD problems with Windows, except with one program in Windows 3.11 that had some serious problems..

I do remember getting the Bomb error on the Macintosh quite often... that brings back horrible memories. I still have an iMac, but, I put Linux on it to deal with the error messages I kept getting, even after a reformat.

I deal with people that do things like that too often. Deleting your System32 folder deletes important configuration files, as well as drivers (some required to run), and important Windows system files.. in fact, that details why its called a "System" folder, it all integrates somehow. Dont delete things in the Windows folder unless a professional tells you to, with specific details.

applied for the vista upgrade.

got the free vista upgrade from windows in the mail, downloaded it.

comp couldn't take it and after i had the computer a year the battery ended up burning out and wouldn't take a charge AND the hard drive literally burnt off from the computer and wasn't fixable because i didn't make backup CDs so i lost EVERYTHING.
