There was a swear word add-on pack that some folks had to this one... (uhm it was an unoffical mod never sold to the public but floated around the BBS'es of the time) It would say RE-ELECT REGAN when you were in DC and in other places- not so nice things...
@blackhawkfan54 Ahh yes, I remember downloading that. It was called "Crude sounds" and came from one of the cracking groups. Factus or Club 9600? I still have it on disk. Also a patch from the DreamWorld guys that allowed you to choose unlimited health and ammo.
FYI: Task Force was written by the same fellow who ported Sword of Sodan. After that project was canceled he wrote and released Task Force (ever notice the character's voice, when hit, is the same in both games?). Yep, inspired by NARC!
I don't recall who or what or how that came about. It was a nice little mod for the game at the time I thought. My paents hated me tying up the phone line. :)
I was so pissed when ETSU would not let me program in ORCA Pascal on it and I had to move to Borland and Windows...
This is my FAVORITE video game of all time! WAY better than Narc! I still remember the first time I beat all 5 cities and got to Vasquez's yacht... and he had like the automatic bazooka?! I think I even remember the best order to hit the cities: San Fran, New York, LA, Chicago, and DC...
I loved this game. I didn't have a computer powerful enough to run this, but my buddy did. We used to get so pissed at each other for stealing the good weapons or torching each other with friendly fire.
It wouldn't be possible, due to the fact that the CPU has to do all of the work with changing colors, and it barely has the power to handle static screens in 3200 color mode.
All games on the GS used the so called 256 color mode, which really was just a 4bit mode which could choose 1 out of 16 palettes for each scan line. The end result wasn't anything like a REAL 256 color mode.
Cool- thanks for the bast of the past.

So what's the story on the IIgs emulators and ROMs? There are days it would be cool to give them a run if they are out there...

Ofcourse it's not 3200 color mode!!!
