carbon isn't a metal you moron, its a polymer which is a form of plastic.

And the average high end part for a bike is make of heat treaded chromoly which is WAY stronger than carbon, carbon although light weight and somewhat strong is not a reliable material to smash on.

@05cyborg carbon is about as strong as cr-mo steel, but it does NOT bend, which is why it isn't used that much. If it takes an impact the wrong way, it'll snap, and not bend and have a small hole like cr-mo and other types of aluminum. just look at the new Lapierre DH 920 swingarm which is made out of carbon, and GT who came out with a full carbon DH frame. It's just a question of wether or not you can afford a new frame every time your frame lands on a boulder

your probably best off getting a bike with just front suspention as its cheaper than a full suspention and there very good for street or dirt jumping. have a look at the commencal absolute cg, kona stuff, specialized p1, or the dmr drone reptoid they all are between £400 and £700

a dirtjump mtb weighs around 14-15kilograms and so does a bmx..

you also have bmx's that wheigh only 11kg and mtb's that wheigh 18kg

what does play an important role is the size of the bike and doing a 360 bunnyhop is easier on a bmx because of it's small size...

its easir to bunnyhop on a mtb because of the suspension. if ts light enough it makes it a lot easier. don't say 'thats bulcrap' because i can bunnyhop on my bmx and its a lot easier on my friends bike which only has front susbension. rear would make it way easier. no doubts...

front suspension sucks for bunnyhoping. it takes all your energy from your hoping motion. thats why you put a 100 cm suspension and normally a 80 cm one for street riding.... because it takes less energy and you can bunny hop higher. You should be bunny hoping higher with your bmx .....
