  • Wow! Nice to see that he can also play like that!

  • afterwards, push and block is more comfortable

  • why is wang hao learning to block like this?

reverse penhold backhand requires a specific way of holding the paddle that makes it hard to block. in order to block, you have to change your grip very quickly during a game, and that is very difficult. ...

  • @IIkingdomII No it actually doesn't. It's a turn of the wrist and staying low to the table. Wang Hao has learned how to play Shakehand and traditional Penhold he just chooses to use his rpb. It's like watching LGL play shakehand with ZJK. They practice all styles so that they learn the fundamentals of the sport and also it gives them greater insight on the weaknesses of the style.

  • @LookB3hindU i've played with both shakehand and penhold and penhold rbp. i can say for certain that the penhold rbp has as bigger deadzone in the middle, and the backhand block is much more difficult as well. the advantage to the penhold rbp is you often can attack first, but it is very difficult to play fast over-the-table games. holding the paddle for rpb makes it so the wrist generates no momentum, only spin. momentum then needs teh waist. very hard for over the table play.

  • @IIkingdomII I've been playing Chinese Penhold for almost 4 years now and have nad no problem blocking the ball or getting power shots in. You are obviously not staying low in your shots to open your wrist and forearm up better. Also you may be holding the paddle incorrectly to open up for the rpb shots. If you have solid footwork then there's not any problems with the middle.
