  • For some reason I love the early seasons of bewitched...it has a hint of the fifties with a pleasant blend of early sixties.

I can't imagine learning to drive in that big boat that Samantha had to! Lol

  • I just adore the way Samantha (Elizabeth Montgomery) talks.. its so sweet and soft...

  • Uncle Arthur!

  • Samantha is a brilliant character. Liz Montgomery is amazing in that role.

  • isn't that uncle Arthur????

and their cars seem like automatic to me too... weird...

still love these though, show is awesome

  • it was really funny when Darrin was teaching Sam and Sam kept asking :))

  • Yeah, he is uncle Arthur!

  • isnt that uncle aurthur sams uncle?

  • YOU are supose to start in P for park!

  • NO NOT UNCLE ARTHUR.

  • Its Uncle Aurther!!!

  • I can't believe that Dick York does not have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his comedic contribution in Television. I can't think of anyone more deserving. Any way to have him nominated to the selection committee??

  • The Dick York shows were the best.

  • sam has hilarious ways of fighting...reminds me of me...really hot headed

  • This is the same garage that was used in Blondie Knows Best.

  • din know they had automatic cars back then

  • steve carrell was perfectly casted for the role of uncle arthur in the movie. too bad the movie wasn't so great..

  • I thought that Nicole Kidman was perfect for the role of Samantha, but I hated Will Ferrell as Darrin. It kinda ruined it, but he was good at playing a self-centered actor ^^

  • @ElementalWaterSprite It was originally going to be Nicole and Jim Carrey which would have been great since she looks alot like Liz and he looks a little and can manage the expressions of Dick York. Sadly, not only Ferrell ended up as Darrin, the script was awful and not the real Bewitched one.

  • @ElementalWaterSprite you and me both,i think they should have gotten Matt Damon he looks more like Dick York than Ferrell.they should have stayed true to the show's roots.

  • This was Paul Lynde's first appearance on the series [April 1965]- director William Asher had already featured him in an unsold 1962 pilot, "HOWIE" [reworked by Asher as "THE PAUL LYNDE SHOW" in 1972], and an episode of "THE PATTY DUKE SHOW" in 1963, so he knew HOW funny Paul could be here. In fact, it was because of this episode that "Uncle Arthur" was conceived the following season, so that Lynde could return whenever he wanted..and he did for the next six years!

  • I've actually learnt how American gear sticks work from watching a 1960s television programme!

Life looked so rosy and simple then.

  • Hey..they use uncle Aurthur as driving instructor.

  • This is hillarious. Love the first season!! They are more "colorful". Can feel the love and warmth. Samantha looks healtier also.

    Thanks for posting!!

  • if you say healthier, maybe you mean younger :D because she was like little chubby and small here but in the next seasons she's tall and thin

  • No, she looks healthier because she is a healthy, full figured size - natural and normal - NOT Chubby! She looked to thin in later seasons.

I agree with an above reviewer. Season 1 is my favorite. A warm and loving married couple with a twist.
