I just went brook fishing in the back of my house, i caught some brookies, im tellin ya, if you have your own body of water like me, your lucky! This is so fun!
if you can try building your own pond in your yard/ land. Make it big enough so that the trout have shade under some trees, and a few large rocks. Add a few logs in it to make a great habitat for them. Im not really sure how to stalk it, but i guess that you have to ask the town if you could =)

And also the small natives are the future of the stream. Put 2 and 2 together. You mess with the number of fish reproducing each year it really adds up! It does! Your doing nothing but bad for this stream. Eat the big ones. Thats the least you can do. Who cares if they're not that tender? Hell its native brook, its still good.
To be ohnest We can't do anything about walmart, etc. To be very up front I haven't heard of a stream being destroyed by any large company? Only agriculture where Im living currently. I'm almost positive that theres some goverment ruling against it... But then again all the rivers that I fish are in nature preserves so I really wouldn't be enformed about this. Sides Companies like Trout Unlimited have accually protested against this and won if im right?

On the contrary, I would like to be able for brook trout into my old age. The only problem is they are not unlimited resource. Its not like fishing for carp or bluegills. Most brook trout are small because guys like these two clean out the fishery.
