I think your friend must have been mistaken - lips do not have oil glands, so putting chapstick on them couldn't possibly "train" them to produce less moisture since they don't do it in the first place

Funny how most ppl put on lotion and say its moisturizing their skin... A while back you told us to put lotion on our faces when they were wet.. ever since I started doing that I noticed a HUGE difference in my skins moisture... I feel stupid for putting it on a dry face for so long LOL.. Ill now do this and see what happens :P

You can buy it from any drugstore really but they also do it in supermarkets near the skincare aisles.
It is also called Vaseline, you might have heard of that, you can get it in a big tub or in little metal cases that you can carry around in your pocket :)
when you have a toothbrush with a scrubby back like the one he has i just use the back and run it along both lips kinda like if i was applying lipgloss and it removes all the dead skin and what not
I use the petroleum jelly as well, every night, my lips are always smooth and kissable!
And each morning after i wash my teeth i brush my lips too,just make sure the brush is wet, then i comes off naturally the red pigmentation of my lips, i only apply a tiny coat of gloss and good to go! look perfect and natural :D

I just use aquaphor every night before going to bed and also before applying makeup so it can sit for a while then when i get to adding lipstick i rub it in then apply the lipstick. But I still want to give this a try!
this works even better if you use a toothbrush that you have run under hot water before using it so that the bristles are softened. if you're in a rush, you can just use a warm wet toothbrush after you brush your teeth to exfoliate your lips, then apply lip balm. also be wary of using oils in the shower! extra virgin olive oil and extra virgin coconut oil are the BEST moisturisers, but try not to apply too much or you'll clog the drain, and don't slip!

I heard don't use chapstick with alcohol in it.. That's probably why you keep reapplying. Some co. put that in so you can keep using it and keep buying their products. I really like the Trader Joe's chapstick!! It also has olive oil and jojoba oil! Instead of using sugar, you can also use baking soda to scrub.
I tried it! It works beautifully!! I took the scrub a step further, and used it on my face and neck, since it's just oil and sugar. The oil is heavy, so if that's a concern for people, use a lighter oil (on the face)!! Thanks for this info!!!!
@hotlatinachk24 adding oil on sensitive or dry skin does not cause out creakouts, the skin is lacking sebum (oil) so you should use oil based products. If you have oily skin (very rare on lips) you shouldnt use oil based products as your adding more oil then you get breakouts :)
I'm not sure if it's that the particles are too big to clog poors or that they're so small that your poors can absorb them and not be clogged, but extra virgin olive oil does not promote acne at all. It's also great alternative to chemical-y makeup removers. It's as he said, it's been used for centuries to maintain beautiful skin. Normal olive oil would probably clog your poors though.
After you used the scrub, your lips also looked brighter/pinker than before. I guess that's because the toothbrush helps blood circulation? You don't need lipstick afterwards :)
This is awesome, Victoria's Secret tried to sell this little lip care thing for 20 bucks but I just didn't because I knew I could do it at home. BTW when removing the dead skin, the skin on the lips is delicate you should do soft circles. This can also work after a shower w/out oil.
i was dependent on blistex for the longest time and i found the only thing that worked for me to stop that is vaseline. For example, if my lips were used to me using blistex every night, i would just use vaseline one night and my lips would be better than ever! Ps i use pretty much the same products as you and i do the same routine! thanks for this video :)

I just use aquaphor every night before going to bed and also before applying makeup so it can sit for a while then when i get to adding lipstick i rub it in then apply the lipstick. But I still want to give this a try!

this works even better if you use a toothbrush that you have run under hot water before using it so that the bristles are softened. if you're in a rush, you can just use a warm wet toothbrush after you brush your teeth to exfoliate your lips, then apply lip balm. also be wary of using oils in the shower! extra virgin olive oil and extra virgin coconut oil are the BEST moisturisers, but try not to apply too much or you'll clog the drain, and don't slip!

I heard don't use chapstick with alcohol in it.. That's probably why you keep reapplying. Some co. put that in so you can keep using it and keep buying their products. I really like the Trader Joe's chapstick!! It also has olive oil and jojoba oil! Instead of using sugar, you can also use baking soda to scrub.

I tried it! It works beautifully!! I took the scrub a step further, and used it on my face and neck, since it's just oil and sugar. The oil is heavy, so if that's a concern for people, use a lighter oil (on the face)!! Thanks for this info!!!!

@hotlatinachk24 adding oil on sensitive or dry skin does not cause out creakouts, the skin is lacking sebum (oil) so you should use oil based products. If you have oily skin (very rare on lips) you shouldnt use oil based products as your adding more oil then you get breakouts :)

I'm not sure if it's that the particles are too big to clog poors or that they're so small that your poors can absorb them and not be clogged, but extra virgin olive oil does not promote acne at all. It's also great alternative to chemical-y makeup removers. It's as he said, it's been used for centuries to maintain beautiful skin. Normal olive oil would probably clog your poors though.

After you used the scrub, your lips also looked brighter/pinker than before. I guess that's because the toothbrush helps blood circulation? You don't need lipstick afterwards :)

This is awesome, Victoria's Secret tried to sell this little lip care thing for 20 bucks but I just didn't because I knew I could do it at home. BTW when removing the dead skin, the skin on the lips is delicate you should do soft circles. This can also work after a shower w/out oil.

i was dependent on blistex for the longest time and i found the only thing that worked for me to stop that is vaseline. For example, if my lips were used to me using blistex every night, i would just use vaseline one night and my lips would be better than ever! Ps i use pretty much the same products as you and i do the same routine! thanks for this video :)
