Looks like Lowes needs a home improvement themselves.
I wonder if the old Martins Corvette building just down the street on Horner made it out ok or not. Used to sell classic cars there. Where I bought my Chevelle from.
@meangreen69Nova o shit yea i forgot about that ya i hope so and hope none of those cars got hurt. my frined also told me that the hardes down there was taken out as well and the old wal mart that i think is in the same shopping center as lowes
The tornado skimmed a Big Lots across the street before crossing into the Lowes area. I am glad that no one was seriously injured in this particular incident. I am also amazed at how even though the roof was peeled back the racking within stayed where it was at. I guess the 4000lb pallets of concrete coupled with the thin/tall racking wasn't subject to all of the tornado's force.
@xPsychoBonez13x Yup, I can't believe this happened to us babe... I was also in that building too when it was destroyed. xPsychoBonez13x is my boyfriend.... It was a horrible day for us... Glad we are alive though.
I live in Sanford, NC and was grateful my husband wasn't around there yesterday, because he stays in that place shopping. We also have a neighbor who works for Lowes and he had the day off yesterday. Thank God he is alright, and no one got hurt in that store. Our home got pitch black yesterday and the power went out as the tornado passed over our home community of Carthage Colonies. We were spared, but some others here in Sanford were not so lucky. My heart goes out to their families.
has anyone heard anything about carolina trace community ??? i have a 90 year old grandma there and have not been able to get a hold of anyone! please email me at courtney_corum@yahoo.com if you have any information
man no one was prepared for this shit it killed a lot of people here in Sanford i am pissed off cuz they should have freaking closed this bitch like some companies did way earlier..stupid... greedy companies...
Looks like they did the right thing in keeping the store open. Nobody in the store was killed or seriously injured. Imagine what might have happened if they made everyone leave.
@tvdrjim Yes - I think it was a good decision (outside there is no protection). I guess some people think the path of a tornado is predictable so that Lowes should've evacuated but there is no definete path for a tornado since they twist and turn sometimes!
it looks like it touched down right on the lowes. The damage to the building looks EF2 +. And the cars look like EF1-0. I hope people were prepared. This was a heavily warned event, I live in GA and we got it last night forchantly most of the tornadic activity was south of me though one hit near my moms.
Pretty scary. The line starts down by Lee Fabrics, south of Quail Ridge and just goes right up through St Andrews and into Eastern Sanford. Still haven't heard of any fatalities, thank God!
