Man - "Took me forever to find this version" - I thought I was the only one!
Heard this on some pop radio station while in someone else's car. I'd never heard "Summer Breeze" but found it on google. However, I still had a burning desire to hear this particular remix again. I only found it by listening to all the previews for songs named "Summer Breeze" one at a time.
What's great about this version is its minimalism. Doesn't change a thing about the original besides adding a lil' hip-hop beat.
been looking for this song for like 6 years now.....was starting to think it wasnt even real till i stumbled across this video, good looking out dtdub
Finally I found it!!! Thanks for posting.. Been looking for this version for quite some time!! I heard it from the GAP commercial and it never left my mind.
That is a lot more than just remixing. Philip Steir had to rearrange the song. Granted, he did it over the top of the original song, but he had to write a lot of music and play it and/or sing it.
If you read the descriptive comments I added to the video when I uploaded it, you'll notice that the names of the remixers and the CD that it's available on are there ...
This just kicks my a**. I realize I am commenting on my own comments, but I heard this on Sirius radio and thought that S&C were trying to make a comeback. Finally, I put the Internet work to learn that it is a remix. It just goes to show you that one person's intrepretation is...just that! One intrepretation.
I heard this on Sirius, too. Is this Seals and Crofts that did this or some else? I am surpised I haven't heard anything about this. Sirius just plays it. They don't talk it up or back sell it or nothing.
@jameala It is still Seals and Crofts' material but the remixing was done by a fella by the name of Philip Steir back in 2004. To differentiate his mix from the original, it goes by the name "Tsuper Tsunami Mix" and appeared on the Warner Brothers album "What is Hip? Remix Project Volume 1" from Warner Music.
I bought this remix on iTunes because of this video!

Oh come on....I get tired of listening to the same thing year after year for 25 plus years. I have heard much worse. This remix is very sweet.

Hard to believe the original version came out nearly 40 years ago and harder to believe it could produce a great remix like this version is.
Seals & Crofts FTW.
