I like your record cleaning machine. Can you give me your formula for the record cleaning solution? Where did you get the brush? I use mostly isopropyl alcohol and a few drops of dish detergent.
@latinosomos hey bro isopropyl is fine to use but do not use dish washer detergent... if you use isopropyl make sure to dilute it with some water preferably "bottled" not tap cause tap might have stuff in it to scratch your vinyl! so it won't be as consentrated "strong" so to speak and when you wipe your record make sure it's some type of microfiber cloth so that it gets inside the groove...
@latinosomos yeah never mind my microfiber cloth. antistatic carbon fiber brush would be alot better to use plus it does take the static away... honestly bro the machines are a bit too steep for me aswell but you should be fine with the old school technique thats the way i do it...
awesome tutorial... i purchased one of these bad boys from an upscale stereo shop in Buffalo, NY (Speaker Shop... best place around!). I'm glad I watched this because I don't normally keep the brush on as long as you do. Now I will! I was first introduced to this manufacturer from a record store owner in the mid 80s. Now that I'm doing needledrops, I needed this item. Its worth every penny I spent on it.
I have a nitty gritty that is on it's last legs and I want to get one of these VPI units. Question: When you clean a record side and turn it over to do the second side, does some of the dust and stuff from the dirty side transfer to the machine's platter and then get transferred to the side that you just cleaning when you flip the disc over?
I have a 1226 dual with Idler-wheel drive system and a rubber mat so the plate has enough power and the record doesn't slip
then I have a bottle with destilled water ethyl alcohol and soap in it put it on the record spin it and get the dirt with a tooth brush out of the rills move about 4 times up and down in about 3 minutes für each side then clean it with clean water.
this doesn't cost much money and is really effective :)
Only worth using on really Dirty records! The old dust bug is the best for just lightly removing dust from records.
Some of those cleaning fluids can also ruin your records, a dust bug dampened with distilled water is probably the best thing for cleaning records. Using a cloth or rag to clean your records can ruin them as too much pressure is used and it's easy to go aginst the grooves when you use one.
I have never used these but have heard allot ,but I use LAST products ,have you ever tried LAST lp preservative?I think it works, they claim it will protect your lps for 200 plays and it seems to help keep the static from forming and you can get a stylast treatment they carry also ,they claim it can help the stylus or neddle last 10 x longer
Nice Demo! Just bought same VPI model a few weeks ago and I'm already glad I did. Well worth the 500+ Dollar investment if you have a large vinyl collection like me.
Wait for it... Wait for it...

@itimmy101 Thanks for your response. A friend is telling me that is better to use an antistatic carbon fiber brush. What is your opinion?
The record cleaning machine is a costly option. What do you think of these two approaches?
Sincerely

You should play the record here before and after cleaning.

я тоже самое могу сделать на негодном проигрывателе, вооружившись мощным годным советским пылесосом

I own a VPI 16.5 machine.
Yes, if you have a grungy record, this machine will do a serious clean-up job.
Under normal house light, the record will look spotless.
However, immediately after cleaning the record, if I put it under my $25 "home" LED lamp (from Target), shows dust left behind.
Using a record brush to scoop up the dust reveals a lump of dust overall is left behind
I tested this in the Audio store, too. Same dust left behind
Not sure if other models have this problem
