I do think she's very uniquely pretty, but I agree with most of ya'll here. She needs to work on the "depth" in her voice, the quality that makes most singers' voices seem to have emotion. Hers seems to lack any emotion, and this stems from lack of breath control and breathing technique. Also, she needs to work on phrasing "...eeeenveeessabowl..." It doesn't sound natural, it sounds forced and overthought.
Yeah, she looks a lot like her dad, that is for sure. Also, yeah, she needs to work on several things. I can hear the In-veezy-abowl, thing as well, and that does serve her well. The lack of compassion of some people never ceases to amaze me. Depression is something many people battle, and it's an illness, just like cancer. It strikes the rich, the poor, the famous, the not so famous, and it's not a choice someone makes. She's a sweet, talented women and she'll be fine. I just hate negativity.

I feel so sorry for her, what chance does someone have, and her mom had two more kids AFTER.....aiiie! at least Billy had just the one. he's prodigiously talented but so complicated and troubled; such artists aren't really being fair when they become parents. So many issues with so many things...ego or insecurity and substance abuse and narcissism or....thank god Marilyn Monroe never had a kid!
Alexa has a great look. but no role models for stable sane relationships and mature behavior!

the songwriting is good. Nice chord progression and minor chorus which her father is known for. I wonder if she wrote it herself or if Billy had a hand. He's one of the greatest songwriters of all time.

I don't think Alexa would let her dad play a part in it, this is her own project. More than anything, you'd hate people to say that you sound like your dad, no matter who he is. I believe that she is determined to make her own music. Like many musicians, she just grew up in a house filled with a lot of music. You can think of that way.

Alexa's a very good singer, and she doesn't sound at all like anyone else which is a very important trait that the mainstream music industry is overlooking these days.
I didn't even know Alexa was pursuing singing/songwriting as a career until just now.

Hmm. Well, she definitely has a unique voice -- somewhat reminiscent of her father's playfulness, and earlier works.
Great tone, excellent control, and I'm overall very impressed with the fact that the genes indeed carried. (That goes for her mother, too!)
But the song doesn't grab me. The end of the chorus has a weak hook, but I'm more interested in what the future will bring.
Whether or not she also has her father's songwriting ability remains to be seen -- and that's a big part of it.

I have enjoyed Alexa's unique style since the first EP, however, this song is the first that I find to be a bit pop-esque.
I don't follow with the negative comments, although the track and back-up do change some vowel sounds. I enjoy her voice but also enjoy her more original music.

This is a great song! I caught the lyrics on her web site. I saw her on Wendy's show (How You doin) when it orginally aired and liked the song immediately. Famous parents can get you in the door but only talent can let you stay.
