I am a liberal guy and even I don't oppose a program of targeted assassinations. I don't oppose the kill/ capture program at all. I don't oppose drone strikes and night time raids. Justice was spit upon when the US assassinated Bin Laden. The very fabric of this nation's fundamental ideals on justice stand diametrically opposed to such an act. Bin Laden wasn't charged for his alleged connections to 911. The FBI, when asked why Bin Laden's crimes on his most wanted didn't include 911, stated there is no evidence linking him to that event. So if it was 911 he was killed over for justice, the US really fumbled the ball. The criminals are in DC!

I am a liberal guy and even I don't oppose a program of targeted assassinations. I don't oppose the kill/ capture program at all. I don't oppose drone strikes and night time raids. It is much cheaper than sending 200,000 troops into a nation. I believe it is also much more effective. The enemy has no answer for U.S. drones. They are helpless to defeat the drones and it is really taking a toll on the enemy leadership. The enemy is severely weakened if they are constantly losing their leaders.

These kinds of operations set a terrible precedent even if they are carried against targets like Osama which can easily be sold for the public. It essentially says that people can be assassinated just on the president's word that the targets are terrorists, all without any judicial review or checks.
