One of my favorite artists*^-^* I visited his small exhibition in Philadelphia soooooo many years ago. His works of art are very cheerful, happy and joyful*^-^* I luv them!! The music matches perfect to this video, too*^-^* Thank you so much for making & sharing this wonderful video*^-^*
it's amazing how each of his artwork tells a story. :)
Like 0:26...I believe it means that the little girl thinks her doll is sick and that guy must be her grandfather and he is pretending to be a doctor and he is figuring out how to make the girl's doll feel better.
Norman Rockwell è stato un poeta dell'immagine. E' dal 1958 che apprezzo il suo lavoro, grazie ad un calendario publicitario. Un saluto dalla Toscana Italy.
Hmm..never thought about Stevie Ray and Mr. Rockwell being related..interesting...but, the reason I am here is to say...love your craft..love Rockwell..and, what a classic to portray him here..very cooL..
I had a calendar with Norman Rockwell Photos. I've done paintings with four of them.Everyday I can enjoy seeing them . They're marvellous.Sundroid if you had the idea of added the soundtrack by Benny Goodman , congratulations!!!!!. I agree, both of them are American original.
I've been to the Norman Rockwell museum in Stockbridge-it was great! My artist father-in-law always says how he was only an "illustrator"not a real artist, but his works like "THe Problem We All Live With" were revolutionary and helpped shed light on racism during a time when it was prevelant. He seemed like a very peaceful man.
I wish I was alive when he was around. Too bad he died in the 70's. Hes my mom's great uncle or something like that. My mom's maiden name is Rockwell and all my cousins last names are Rockwell. My middle name is too. My Grandpa tells me stories of him so much.
I've been seeing 2009 calendars around lately and some are Rockwell ones. But it's kind of pointless to only get 12 pics. Maybe if someone made weekly calendars so you'd get 52 pics.
A weekly calendar would probably be small. I'd like to see a huge book with all his works, maybe a blurb below it talking about each one, and not priced at hundreds of dollars... something priced realistic so the average Joe can afford it without having to sacrifice something else.
Norman Rockwell is one of my all time favorites! I saw on the Juli B site that there's a show of his Saturday Evening Post covers down in Philly, at the Michener Art Auseum.
It's kind of sad how Rockwell is underrated by some artists and critics. They say his pieces are too sentimental, but that's part of what makes him great. There have been other great artists who've painted what can be considered 'sentimental' works like Renoir. What's also amazing is that while he paints (then) modern pictures, he has the detail of a Dutch old master.
Love Rockwell. The one with the G.I. feeding the young girl was the kind of stuff I liked the most. There's another one called Girl at the Mirror. He was really good at expressing what is to have freedom, self-doubt and ultimately, faith.
These kinds of images can never be captured with digital camera. It kind of raise the question of: Are we really advancing, or hindering our selves with technology?
very nice comment. i am Puerto Rican and a huge fan of ROCKWELL, and i even tho i am only 20yo, i wish i lived in every frame of norman's work, specially the xmas ones. his work is really touching...

One of Benny's greatest ever bands.Featured is another American original and for me musical genius,Pianist,Mel Powell.
Norman Rockwell should be spoken about in the same vein as any of the old masters.Quite wonderful music and sublime artworks!
Thanks for this priceless posting.
