  • dude you look just like adam gontier

  • which amp r u using? and the settings too?

  • how do u tune it like that in the tuner. see i have a tuner that has a needle and has the strings in order

  • Haha if u wanna be cheap like me nice bro hahahahaha

  • @breakinbenfreak

i learned to play in drop c just saying :P

  • Drop C u mean :/

  • @GamingForLife96

No, this song (and a lot of Breaking Benjamin's newer stuff) is in Drop A#

  • Why did they break up?? Im sad now lol. Will hey get back together?

  • Song is EZ :) but harmonics are a pain on solos XP

  • i love this song and u did it good! :) its a bumer tht they split up...

  • Any tisps for a new guy?

  • @25rikimaru Practice ALOT

  • @breakinbenfreak good tip XD start with acoustic guitar is a better tip tho :P

  • u have the same guitar as me :)

  • did you say you needed to buy thicker strings or could you use normal strings?

  • @CommandoProFail You need thicker strings, normal strings will be incredibly loose if you try tune them down to A#

  • how would you play this song on acoustic

  • @93aceboydean You could either tune your acoustic down to the tuning I mention and then play it the same as I do. Or you could figure out which notes I'm playing and then transpose them into standard. Also, try your luck on guitar tab sites, someone may have already done an acoustic version for it.

  • @breakinbenfreak thanks :) i looked up ultimate guitar :) i wanna learn the intro on standered tuning and i know the chords already :) if you see the live version thats what i base it on

  • @breakinbenfreak :can u please tell me what your amp is tuned 2 ?

  • @wicked666sick It's just Line 6 distortion really. I can't remember what I had the levels set to exactly. Just fiddle around and see what your ears like

  • u r really a breaking benjamin freak!!!!!

    superb video!!

    good explinations!!!!!

i learned this thing so fast!!!!!!!!!

  • @vijval02 Thanks man, I appreciate it heaps!

  • he looks like zack farro of paramore..........you see

  • no good

  • how do you do the motor sound after the intro?

i try that but i get a bluese sound effect and not a hardrock/metal sound sound what you do.

    please give me tips.

  • srry man thats wroung

  • drop a# = 2 whole steps down + drop d style.

after you tune 2 whole steps down the 7 fret on the 6th string will sound like the 5 fret on the 4th string.

  • Umm.... Breakinbenfreak can you make a guitar lesson for some breakingbenjamin songs like Dear Agony, Give me a sign or Unknown Soldier because I really want to learn those but its ok if you will not. By the way thanks for this video, I learn it so easy because you explain it part by part

  • I don't get the part where you say that it's open, 5, 7 and 3. It looks like you're playing open in between them. Please reply!! I'm dying to learn this song but i'm so confused ):

  • @music0iz0my0life i dont really know how to explain it but just play constant 16th notes and throw in what he said every other note. So yes there is one open note between them.

  • @music0iz0my0life basic metal playing...

  • nice vid nice vid

  • drop c?

  • @nj4fernan Drop A#. I said it at the start of the video

  • What amps that? ^-^

  • what kind of strings you got? and is this drop c?

  • @pimsy1993 I use D'Addario light top/heavy bottoms for this song. I tell you the tuning at the start of the video

  • @pimsy1993 A#/Bb

  • @pimsy1993 drop a sharp

  • do you have to play it with the finger and the pick or can u use the pick for both on the intro

  • and man seriously, i don't get it when you say that it's open, 5, 7 and 3. It looks like in the video that you are playing open in between them. Would appreciate it if you told me what you are actually doing. need to learn this bad. great vid though.

  • and one confusion man, the pinkie goes to the 15th fret of which string?? The D or G? Cause it doesn't sound right on my D string. Help anyone, please.

  • nice man, but can you put up a link to the tabs for this song?

  • you have the same guitar as me xD

    good lesson too btw

  • sou does it matter if i try to play this on accoustic?

  • @XCaliboy090990 If you plan to tune your acoustic guitar to this tuning then no...if you plan to play it in standard, then yes

  • @breakinbenfreak wat guitar is that?

  • @feveronceagain123 Yamaha Pacifica

  • @breakinbenfreak oh thnx, would you recommend the Rogue HSS Rocketeer Electric Guitar for beginners? i subed

  • @breakinbenfreak There's no reason why he can't play it in Drop Bb on an acoustic, I do it and it sounds fine.

  • very explanatory. but get ready before hand next time. thanks. you have potential kid.... good luck

  • I got the same guitar as you, but how do you tune it so that it plays really low like for the power chords part?

  • @ElectricSk8ter I explained that at the start. I actually mentioned 3 different ways. Baritone guitar (longer neck), 7 string guitar or a thick gauge string

  • thanks man u helped me out

  • deadly song!!!!!!

  • same guitar woop lol (looks the same)

  • teehee, Pause at 3:56 u looke like ur about to kiss the guitar ;)

  • Line 6 I spot?!

  • did u on the disortion?

  • @ 4:04 it was messy

  • good stuff. what settings do you have your amp set at?

  • your vid was very helpful:) where do you get your tabs?

  • Ultimate-guitar to start, then parts by ear

  • FUCK!!! my guitar is tuned differentally and im too lazy to tune it properly >:[

  • Its ok man! you can still play the song in any drop tuning.

  • @breakinbenfreak i need to say something very important HELP!!! because by the begining on where string you put your fingers on?

  • @Ricardo36788 I explain it all in the video

  • @Ricardo36788 You put them on the 3rd, 4th and 5th strings down. So 12th fret on the 3rd string down, 14th fret on the 4th string down and 13th fret on the 5th string down. You also add your little finger to the 15th fret on the 4th string down for a part of the intro. If you play those notes you will figure out where they are in the song, hope it helped.

  • dude, your ctually right on you teach it correctly..most videos on youtube are all fucky but you did a proper right job. highfive! nice strat ithink its a strat

  • Thanks man appreciate it. It's actually a yamaha pacifica

  • you are awsome!! btw what amp do u have

  • Line 6 Spider II

  • could you please write tuning with octaves??

    i cant find out what's right :S

  • is there a way to play this in standard tuning ?

  • @richd1913 not really no. If you go to drop d (D A D G B E) you can. It won't sound exactly like the song but you'll only have to tune down 1 string

  • @breakinbenfreak I heard you had to do drop C bro,I can only go by guitar tabs, but I got my guitar at christmas.

  • @xXrunneRRunnerXx No this song is in drop A#, We Are Not Alone is mostly in drop C

  • @breakinbenfreak i think the only ones that aren't are 'away', 'breakdown' and 'forget it' they are in drop Db

  • uh.....What powerchords for the verse? I couldn't see where your fingers were placed.

  • On 5 and 8, I think I said that..

  • We use these guitars at the music school. They aren't very good, the output hole rests right on the guitar stand and fucks up the electrics when you leave them plugged in.

  • that guitar looks a lot like mine, except for the output.

  • @finalfantasyreal lol first act

  • introoo harrdddd

  • wohoo your australian

  • Is that a Yamaha, I have one like it! :D

  • this guys pretty beastly

  • wat is ur amp tuned to?

  • I guess you mean the sound. Line 6 "metal" settings. Bass around 7, mids between 5 and 6 and treble around 4

  • @Archerjvt hahahahahahahahahahaha...... that's a sarcastic laugh man..... really dude, ur fuking with me right... what is the amp tuned to?...... sorry for being an ass, im sure you know better by now... but still gotta rip on you

  • i'm failing at the tuning.

i tune it the way you did and it doesn't sound the same.

can you play each string individually?

  • I probably won't do a whole video just plucking each string.

  • just to make sure you're viewers have their tuning right. it's not going to take you the whole video.

  • My guitar isn't tuned like that any more. To tune to this tuning your strings just have to go down to the notes that I named. I also mentioned you may need thicker strings to play this song.

  • sounds like you need an electric tuner. if you get a good one it makes things a lot easier. i recomend a korg.

  • Any way you can teach me the strumming, Im failing at it for some reason.

  • let somebody else teach it too you :)

  • you're slightly high. other than that great.

  • hahahaha. I'm actually just like that. That wasn't drug induced

  • Lol. I meant the guitar.

  • Lol well that makes sense then

  • nice....which amp u got dere?:)

  • Line 6 spider 2.

  • @breakinbenfreak wow i luv line6 amps....i really want 2 buy 1 :)

  • nice line 6 spyder II =D

  • WTF FUCK is the sound at 0:01 ?!? hahah

  • Just me clearing my throat haha

  • Yeah right.. ;p <3 great play

  • hey dude your good. can you advice me for a good elec. guitar.coz im getting one..then what pedal are you using..and the amp and its config..thanks.

  • get a epiphone les paul 100 or a higher end squier. I'd go for a laney lx 12 amp. and use a zoom g1. good guitar multi effect for beginners

  • u make funny faces while playing

  • dont remind me lol

  • hi.

  • beast same amp as mine

  • wait, how do you have your guitar tuned? i have mine in standard tuning can i play it like that?

  • If you tune to drop d, you can play the same chords as me but it wont sound exactly like the song

  • wait, so in the video how do you have it tuned? (srry im a bit slow wen it comes to some music stuff, but i love it so i try to stick with it)

  • yamaha pacifia 112j....i have the same guitar...nice lesson though...

  • tyy men i needed this lesson

  • dont feel like you cant move your hand at all (during the power chord riff), i'd advise to avoid using your pinky for power chords. i use my first finger to bar on the power chord on the 5th fret, then 3rd then 1st fingers for the 7th- 5th fret pull off power chord. just a bit of advice, good work.

  • one second thought, i am mistaken, it is 7th - 3rd, i just play it 7th - 5th, but i would still use my 3rd finger then jump a bit for my 1st finger on it.

  • Yea, I was just trying to show the chords and stuff, please don't take my advice on technique lol. In my cover I use my third finger n jump across, dunno why I used my pinky...

  • well, i mean, use your pinky if you want, all that matters is whats most comfortable to you. guitar isnt about awkward fingerings and positions. =) good job though, you explain things very well

  • Also, Yuo play the heavy main riff in an awkard way. To me, anyway. What you prefer is best, but. Sorry. I play it on with dropped power chords all the way through.

  • Yea Spier II. And yea its possible to play dropped power chords the whole way, personal preference.

  • Yeah, No worries. You're good.

Check out my old cover of Diary of Jane if you're not busy, man.

  • What amp is that?

    Line 6 spider?

  • Haha, too bad I can't play guitar that well, I have the same guitar as you too.

  • haha :'D

you look funny, when you're playin' those power chords ;)

  • loool yea they are annoying to play. I make stupid faces too
