I recently hurt my right wrist & forced this swing on myself. I could only go back until it hurt like hell when my wrist began to cup. I ended up with a swing like SS. Anticipation of sharp pain became my new backswing. Recognizing this shorter backswing point and dead wrists I just fired harder with my hips to regain distance. Real improvement came from removing the hinge of cupping my wrist at the top and the timing for square contact was dead easy. I expect to keep this swing. BTW LH golfer.
Agreed. Stricker is the swing to copy. I think Hunter Mahan's is a good one to look at as well... I'm a dead-hand guy too. You get a much better judgment on where the clubhead is facing at impact.
i like to use a dead-handed swing like stricker when i'm feeling accuracy is paramount. it's a fallback swing for when i'm not feeling 100% as well. as was stated, you lose power like crazy, but if you take a little extra club it's not that big of a deal. it takes a bit of getting used to, but you can still get some 250-260 yard tee shots if you commit to it. very nice for par 4s.

my swing is like this guys, but there's a caveat; no power.

I'm not exactly a fan of Johnny Miller, but I agree 100% with what he said. If there is any swing to copy, Stricker's is the one.
