  • Good idea to keep that blue bucket near by. That is beast.

  • As much as I genuinely enjoy crossfit for what it is, the floor flop so many do is always amusing.

  • Nicely done Talayna!

  • How can it be only 65 pounds isnt that an 45 pounds olympic bar?

  • @vagvll Those look like 45lb plates but I'm sure they are 10lbs to make up the 65lb total.

Crossfit uses rubberized weights I think and they look bigger than they are in actual weight.

  • Unbroken, nice! Good work.

  • ...... so the fact that those arent pull ups doesnt bother anyone but me? okay

  • @Rchard43 still not bad for a girl...most chicks cant even do one

  • @Rchard43 They are Kipping Pull Ups, its a full body workout, and her form is amazing, you should try the workout and let us know how you do.

  • @Drewmurr2G I have done them. in basic training. i have also done regular, wide grip, and MANY others. so calm your nips. crossfit is a joke. my friend sent me to this video to show me how "hard" his workout is. its not that bad. calm down

  • @Rchard43 So we'll soon see your video completing FRAN at prescribed weight in less time than Talayna, right?

  • @OscarSchneegans I want to see a video of you doing Fran with dead-hang pullups. Kipping=not a pullup since you aren't pulling your body up. I personally can do 21 dead-hang pullups unlike many Crossfitters. Lack of strength in the WODs plus hostility towards free-thinking is exactly why I left the Crossfit community.

  • @Rchard43 Post of video of yourself doing this workout in less than three minutes before you run your mouth. You can even use the girl's weight.

  • @xfittube85 I've got a better challenge. Post a video of you doing this workout with dead-hang pullups and no kipping. Kipping=not pullups since you aren't pulling yourself up.

You can even use the girls' weight.

  • @Rchard43 haha u sound like stewie in my head :P

  • @Rchard43 kipping vs strict, strict is body building and focuses directly on muscles, if you haven't noticed crossfit is all about the core, kipping used your whole body to lift your chin above the bar, they both have their advantages.

  • @Rchard43 Ignore all the hostility. CrossFit is notorious for being a community filled with hostile members who want to kill anyone who even so much as questions the methodology. I used to do CrossFit but left because of all the hostility. I agree that kipping pullups are not pullups since you aren't pulling yourself up. I can do 21 straight dead-hang pullups with no kipping at all. I can deadlift 2.5 times my bodyweight. The average Crossfitter is weak.

  • Props to Talayna on this, and extra props that she was able to complete the whole WOD, in that time, without laughing to the Romstein music in the background. :D

    Seriously though. Nice work Talayna!

  • Are you suppose to kipp on Fran? Im not being a dick, Im really asking. I always do strict because I thought that was what you were suppose to, and everyone I see kipps, but I dont and Im always in the late 4 minutes.

  • @drewhimself by all means! kip! butterfly kip if you can. :-)

  • @drewhimself ur still getting the full range of motion if u get ur chin above the bar. Same exercise just higher energy with kipping

  • @drewhimself dunno if kipping is ok but I would hope your chin clears the bar, hers dosen't

  • I would love to hire You for My strength demo videos...

  • Wow! Awesome!!!

  • Great job, keep the the good work.

As far as her form, it was perfect. Fist of all she is doing thrusters, not shoulder presses. Her wrist is bent and her elbows are high to allow the bar to rest on her shoulders, while in that position all the weight is on her shoulders (she should be able to let go with her hands and the bar should stay up, so her wrists will be fine regardless of the weight), if her wrist were to roll under the bar while she squat all the weight would be on her arms and th

  • Interestiing to see that there is no push away from the bar during the pull up - just a drop with leg swing. Many an instructor advices a strong push to keep the kipping circle flowing - but this will get a try for sure :) anyone have any experiences regarding this to share?

  • @usbsol This is actually a butterfly pullup, its a variation of the kip. No push is required, just google how to do the butterfly pullup, It's pretty hard to get down but if you are good with a kip you should be alright!

  • why do they swing on the bar like that? please reply.

  • @tw881000 To gain more intensity to thier workouts =) It's for stamina and you do get strength from it to!

  • @RobertXillet thanks!

  • @tw881000 for high volume/intensity workouts like this, you really feel the burn from kipping pullups. it is basically the most efficient way of doing pullups quicky. try doiing pullups as fast as you can and you'll end up with kippers

  • @tw881000 because that is how you do a kip up pull up. You use your core and momentum of the swinging and you gain control. Its not an ordinary pull up but it is effective. I was taught those in personal training school when one of our teachers who was also a trainer at crossfit took charge.

  • @ChrisDsnuts97 No, I'm talking about the wrists.

Look at hers, completely bent under the weight.

She gets away with it because the weight is light and she has good flexibility but the palm needs to be in line with the forearms on this exercise or you'll hurt the wrists easily.

  • @christosswc its called flexibility, look it up, its a cool thing

  • @stillrob420 I looked it up,I saw no mention of shoulder pressing with the wrists parallel to the floor all the way to lock out just because you are flexible.

But I suppose if you limit yourself to a certain weight and just chase the clock you can get away with plenty of things.

Check out olympic lifting to see how a shoulder press is done.

And them guys cannot be accused of "inflexibility".

  • @christosswc no, wrong

  • Comment removed

  • The combined weight of the bar and plates is 65 lbs. The male version of this workout uses 95 lbs.

  • is that a 45 lb bar and 35 lb plates? if so... damn

  • How much weight is on the bar?

  • My wrists hurt watching those presses.

Great work but really, aren't your forearms supposed to be under the bar, not in front of it?

  • Awesome!

  • Good job girl! :)

  • impressive

  • I am amazed at what my clients can do!!!! Awesome job Talayna!

  • she killed fran!!!

  • Wow, Nice job!! If it wasn't for her getting a little off balance on one of her thrusters in the first round and her extra thruster in the second round, she could have had like 2:35. Awesome job though.

  • While this girl is tremendously fit and I applaud her, she's not really doing pull-ups correctly; using your legs and body weight for momentum is kind of cheating. Still a crazy video! Good job!

  • She is doing "kipping pullups", which is a completely legitimate variation of the pull-up (of which there are many variations), and which is prescribed for this particular workout from CrossFit. No cheating going on here, only a very impressive Fran time.
