  • Its that a 747-100 or -200?

  • Why did pan am sell their pacific routes to united?! That was so stupid of them.

  • @compdude100 There were several reasons. Among them: PA's purchase of National Airlines, buying too many different types of aircraft (747SPs, DC-10s, and L1011s), trying to figure out how to do business with deregulation, and also the 1982 recession.

  • @sparkingwave I think Pan Am killed themselves by buying National Airlines.

  • @compdude100 some people build businesses or Assets to sell them to other businesses, in Pan Am's case though I think they wanted cash and selling Asian routes allowed them to stay in business.

  • A wonderful video and great to see Qantas featured in this historic film clip.

  • pan am was soooo wonderful! if you like pan am check my chanel! ; )

  • Hi Sparkingwave, I have switched the location to worldwide, but it doesn't works. :(((

  • Very nice work!

But I can't watch your video "Worl'ds Best Pan Am 747 Video" in germany since a view month because of the content from Sony Music Entertainment. :(((((

Is it possible to reupload this video, or can you tell me the title of the music?

    It was so wonderfull!

  • @Crusty134 Have you tried switching your location to "worldwide" at the bottom of the page? See if that works.

  • @sparkingwave this don't work in germany, better Crusty will use an US PROXY..

Sony makes us here in Germany very angry with this and we should boycott all Hardware from this Company !!

  • This happend when I was 20 yrs old. I would've LOVED to have been on this flight! Airlines nowadays pale in comparison to Pan Am ! I wish somebody would resurrect this airline. It was a true symbol of America that the world misses to this day !!

  • @katyu16 I See you everywhere saying When i was 20yrs old this happened-that happened.

Whats the kick you get? Why Troll these Vids?

My Aunt was a Stewardess and had friends on the 911 flights and you claim that never happened. HOW OLD WERE YOU THEN ~20 ?

  • excellent work!

  • Beautiful! It makes me feel younger!

  • Gone but not forgotten Pan Am gave me the World

You call it the World, We call it Home !

  • When we would board passengers in a foreign land they would say, "I feel like I'm already home being on a Pan Am flight.

  • Great times.....not like the people moving of today..stil had some romance i traveling.

  • Great video! Thankyou! Hard to believe that only six years and one month later this great airline would be gone. Brings back memories!

  • Very Nostargic. we miss the great Pan Am.

  • Yea Haw, Imelda Marcos

  • I work at CIA >>>I LOVE PAN AM..DINIZ/RJ

  • wow 0_o

  • Can you share the piano music you mixed in with the video. TIA.

  • I WORK AT CIA DINIZ BRASIL

  • I miss Pan Am I flew this bird in 1989 route FRA-JFK. Awesome video!

  • I am flying the not so friendly skies to Incheon, S. Korea every month What a let down from the good old Pan Am days

  • i flew this aircraft from LON to SFO in 1988..... never knew it completed this historic flight.....

  • What a wonderful collection of beautiful memories! Only two months prior I had flown PAA from LAX to NRT and HKG. Never knowing it would be my last crossing on Pan American. The air to air shots at SFO are spectacular. Thanks so much for sharing this with us.

  • I didn't realise that the 1985 Pan Am livery no longer used the blue cheatline. The Eurowhite scheme that Pan Am is using in 1985 is actually many years ahead of its time! The Eurowhite scheme became really popular somewhere around the late 1990s.

  • there is something beautiful about this video, thanks.

  • This brings back a flood of memories! At the time I was working for United Airlines (Sales Rep., Fisherman's Wharf) and the Pan Am Clipper story was quite big. Even though PA was the "competition," there was this feeling of air-travel history which transcended any of those thoughts. It's great to see this video after all these years - beautiful scenes over the Bay. I left UA in 1991 and was saddened when Pan Am ceased operations around that same time. What an incredible history!

  • The friendly skies get uglier, I came over in 86'. The not so friendly skies show signs of history repeats itself. Its like writings on the wall. I missed the Blue Meat Ball, I will not miss the ugly skies if Glen Tilton flies it to the ground. It will be a pity. Perhaps Continental may save its soul.

  • MORE PLEASE

  • Nice video,i always like how PA named their planes Clipper ________ . Very classy.

  • The only Unites States carrier to do so...!!!

  • Yeah, I miss my airline and my Mom's. Both her and I worked for PanAm World Airways.. Now, that I have lefted United.. It has been some great years for me.... 20 plus years combined.... I will miss PanAm World and United Airlines

  • This was an ex-Singapore Airlines plane, was it not??

  • Yes. 747 series212B(ex Singaore Airlines)..Pan American took delivery of this aircraft 26-4-85 renamed Clipper Fleetwind

    N723PA

  • America's airline...sad...we used to go to London,Asia all dressed up in the 70's. Father was proud to buy tickets on Pan am.

  • Beautiful! The shot over Golden Gate is stunning!

  • Ahhh, really nice video! I too often worked on this aircraft. I hear ya skygod747; those days bring back such a warmth of memories for me!

  • Hi sparkingwave thank you very much for sharing this video with us. Where did you find this? Can you find more? FYI Clipper Sparking Wave tale number n741PA was in service from 2/1970 to 12/1991 but was Clipper Kit Carson in the begining and was renamed in the 1980s I use to work quite often on this plane. What a fun and exciting company to work for. I still can not belive they are gone. I would do anything to have that life style back! thanks again.

  • This video was a bonus that came along with a Pan Am poster I had bought on ebay. It was a much longer documentary with lots of speeches by Pan Am brass and other guests, and it wasn't very well made. I took the best parts and edited it down and added the music. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm also on the lookout for other PA 747 videos to add on here.
