  • ok serious question: whats the differences between krav maga and kali?

  • @5iftical That is NOT a serious question!

  • @5iftical from different countries krava maga is from israel and kali is from philippines

  • awesome kali!!!! imagine bjj in street fight self defense; step 1. fall and ask/pull your oponent in your guard. step 2. grab his arm. step 3. get hit in the head a couple of times. step 4. raise your foot over his hand. step 5. bring other foot over. step 6. apply triangle choke. step 7. wait couple of seconds. average time: takes too long lol and ur screwed if you have multiple attackers(if you practice bjj)

  • Good Video, Great Martial Art. Thank for share this.

  • nice little open hand kali JKD mix

  • Using head butt as a limb destruction... very interesting.

  • This guys in MMA would destroy every one. This is made for killing people!

  • So basically keysi fighting method borrowed kali.

  • this is insane...amazing

  • The simplicity of it is essential. Disengage or incapacitate your opponent in 5 moves or less. No need to break a sweat or lose your breath. Excellent exhibition here.

  • @elvisworldwide it looks a lot like silat

  • filipino origin

  • very good style

  • Combat styles are only as effective as the person(s) that uses it. If someone claims silat and is successful in defending an attack then we would say it's effective, but if that person failed we would critique the art as innefective.

  • well done!

  • does the elbow works as a secondary but stronger hit, in case the jab or slap is not enought?

  • 16 people are ... hindicapped? Pretty cool video, most deadly martial art ever. viva panantukan.

  • Fatality : Neck Snap!

  • mean!

  • I love your videos, but i must say you need new sweatpants

  • You have not improved anything , just making an effective art less so

  • the real Jason Bourne

  • good innovation from kali

  • Nice Moves..

  • sucky attack expects sucky defense...

  • good stuff

  • When I studied akido it's all about the more you practice your art the more confident, and delivered your movements will be. Swiftness, strength, and restraint all come in when you have a guy swinging in no particular directions with flailing punches going for a T.K.O and all of a sudden his arms snapped like a twig.

  • The horrible truth.

  • Nice it''s not pre sets and movements from various arts lika kajukenbo. Kajukenbo is a touch stone of many arts yet this is only one art looks very street effective and it's all based all on the same physchology very straight to the point and effective street defense.

  • nice!!

  • Complimenti bellissima video !!!!

  • è efficace questo stile in una situazione di sparring dove i colpi sono rapidi e l'avversario entra ed esce?

  • master!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • How do you block though if some one is throwing wild flailing fist? I mean I see how he blocks here but it is only one direct and some what slow punch.

  • @lattask8er Targetted blocks do not work in real life. Anyone who has been in a real fight knows this. Note, blocking DOES work, but not targetted blocks, or blocks where you are supposed to snatch someones fist in midair, twist it around and somehow snap the guys elbow. All well and good in the dojo, but don't expect that shit to work in a real fight, unless if you are fighting a girl, or a really old person.

  • wow! amazing! i wish you were in california, usa, and you were my kali instructor! this just blows your mind! awesome! thanks for the video!! also are you planning to make another kali video? not that you can never get bored of this one.

  • ... excellent show case of your talent.

  • A cool collection of moves, but this is portrayed against an un-resisting opponent.

Not to mention the speed differences between attacker/defender.

  • @LordJoseifius

t an extent i agree however in the street you will find most people are not skilled in martial arts. Plus you dont drill techniques with people resisting if you intend to show specific concepts.

  • 0:50 COOL MOVE

  • I like this.......

  • I didnt know tobin bell was so good at kali

  • Awesome video

  • Were can I learn Kali, any suggestions were in the Fillipine's? Thanks

  • this is why i fking love Filipino Martial Arts, super effective, super efficient, no fancy shit. No wonder they use fma when they make spy or action films. other martial arts are ok i suppose lmfao

  • Jason Bourne got scared and disliked this 14 times

  • @LeadResonance .Kali and JKD were used in the bourne series.

  • @jdkit yes yes! :) just making a dislike meme joke :)

  • So how is this compared to Krav Maga, are they both very effective styles or is one better and other worse ?

  • @SloveniaHardCore91 They are different styles, but both work, I prefer this one because it has more mysticism, history and culture behind it, but, both are quite effective.

  • @SloveniaHardCore91 i'm not an expert in history but i don't the children of god ever really practiced martial arts, they had prophets so that they can be super righteous. i think the Israeli Defence Force went to the Philippines and studied FMA. Europeans who knows how to use knives like fiipinos? or malays? i don't think so.

  • @SloveniaHardCore91 i'm just saying europeans hundreds of years ago were more into swords and shields and boxing lol and pancratia wresting or something something lol

  • @SloveniaHardCore91 Krav Maga and the Kali Empty Hand are almost similar. Krav Maga trains first with empty hands then to the use of weapons. In Kali, you will train with weapons first like sticks, knives etc then later on, the same techniques will be translated and applied to empty hands. But both are geared to use methods in self defense that finishes your opponent quick and in devastating fashion. Both use knees and elbows a lot too.

  • @SloveniaHardCore91 . KM is more straight forward in my opinion. You see a lot of strikes to attackers arms legs here, this isnt very common in KM. Kali is quite stylish as well.

  • This martial arts is just as deadly as the others

  • The guy with the beard always get beat up...poor guy.

  • Is this the Filipino martial arts?

  • @ian2008931 Yes it is FMA! It is panantukan, or you can find it as ''dirty boxing'' , i'm sure you have seen it and in Bourne Identity (the movie).

  • @ian2008931 Yes this is Filipino martial arts.

  • 2:17 The main one everyone needs to know because apparently thats how fights start.

  • Philippines Martial arts is the best...

  • @truthisyesu

No, JKD took that stuff from Kali thanks to Dan.

  • man i love it !

  • dude thats amazing

  • Ciao! dove vi allenate?

  • I'd like to see these "drills" done on a real person NOT acting like a helpless person who doesn't know how to fight but rather on another person who will actually cover up when throwing a 1-2 punch combo. This is too Hollywood.

  • Well if you can find somebody who does not mind being headbutted, kneed in the groin and elbowed directly in the face while having thier hands trapped down then go work this stuff with them. Then let them practice it on you. I don't think you guys will be able to keep it up long enough to get very good but I could be wrong.

  • Kali moves are based on the economic culture of "slash and burn farming" ... cutting trees

See the basic drills by "Latrago Kali"

  • I can DIG IT!

  • great video thankyou very much for sharing some great techniques from such a wonderful and very brutal system of filipino martial arts.

  • Nice stuff! Great attitude!

  • Good one step progressions. Training as you will fight, because you will fight as you train!

  • Guro Claudio believes in teaching his partners a healthy dose of respect for hard training!! Haha...I love it! Video eccellente ... magari un giorno ci si alleneranno insieme, a Dio piacendo. Fino ad allora, hanno una splendida vacanza e un sicuro e prospero Anno Nuovo!

  • He might be no GSP or Lyoto Machida, but I sure wouldn't want to piss him off or try to mug him. Sweet stuff man...just work on those camera angles. ;P

  • You should watch your camera angles though because there were parts where we couldn't see what you were doing.

  • @oguzxanali 2Fast4U2C ;-)

  • @ClaudioA Yes, I can not see and comprehend the ways of magic.

  • @oguzxanali just train... u will ;-)

  • @ClaudioA Wow, dude, I haven't seen techniques on FMA like that in a long time performed so precisely and brutally. The only time when I saw something like that was from the great filipino grandmaster Lamampao that my dad used to train with back in the day. Awesome work, keep training.

  • mega gunting, over mega flow thx

  • I love the way they demonstrate the praticality of Kali in close quartered-situations as well as stairwell environments. As well as being in street close and not a Damn karate ghee.

  • a me piace molto come si muove...e l' intenzione con cui porta le tecniche...

  • Direct, fluid, devastating. Highly impressive.

  • @ClaudioA, thank you for propagating the Filipino Martial Arts in your country... Pugay! :-)

  • Awesome demo, Claudio... top of the line as usual. How the hell do you make this look so simple?

  • did you train with batman?

  • @WanaBguitarist

    He trained Batman.

  • awesome stuff...

  • Man that was bruta and awesomel 0.0, and imagine if that guy would'v had a knife, sheesh he'd slice everything all day long 0.0

  • @Ciabbiello Figurati, grazie a Te ;-)

  • Note to self: do not fuck with this guy.

  • ive watched a lot of various martial art vids... this is the best.

  • those elbow strikes to the neck and face are so close and so fast i want to see the bloopers

  • @ghostdogblack4747 lol. Me to me to.

  • great drills. your really good at your empty hand kali. Now I want to see you freestyle spar with it .

  • @randyds5

Free spar would be hard... If he can't hit you in the neck , temple and other vital parts of your body then sparing against such a system like Kali does not make any sense as you are taking away 90% of his tools. Its not meant to be used as a sport. If you want some sparing go for MMA. Its got lots of rules and that is why its so popular. No one will eye gouge you, hit you in the neck, crash your wind pipe or break your fingers

  • cool techniques and excellent filming/editing, I especially enjoyed the leg attacks around 2 minutes in.

  • i like you move it fast thumb up

  • Comment removed

  • le tecnice mi piacono molto. veramente bella dinamica!

  • @Greenmagneticmoon

Why do you say krav maga is a pile of trash...? I have never studied it, so I'd just like to know your reason.

    Thanks.

  • @BlueDemon77 Krav Maga is very useful as is any system that has as it's concern reality. I have been in the fighting arts for 41 years starting with boxing at 9 years of age. I often get sick of hearing people talk about BJJ, Muay-thai and MMA since when I was younger u could not find 5 people in the US that wanted to learn them. Take for example the fact that I can name 57 guys who would hold down people in a fight using their weight and leverage and beat the crap out of them with a free hand.

  • @BlueDemon77 2) Now all of a sudden people are talking about some method called "ground n pound". That is as old as prostitution yet people act like it is new. There is a reason why the elite forces do not learn the styles so many people in these forums talk about. It is because they are not functional in real world combat. Krav maga is a combat system and that makes it more realistic. A heads up: THE BEST ART GIVES YOU THE BEST CHANCE TO OVER COME PHYSICAL AND ARMED DISADVANTAGES!

  • @CLEVELEFS

I dio believe that the art is as good as the person using it.

  • @3hacksTeam that is true for every art, method, and system.

  • @MrClinton19

Yes, hence I never see a point in asking questions like : which martial art is the best ? Will MMA win against Aikido ? Will KungFu (any school / style) win against a boxer? And on and on and on. But it all seems like people never get the point about these things..

  • @3hacksTeam you do make a damn good point

  • @3hacksTeam Aikido is garbage, and kungfu is at it's best when there are no ringside rules. Boxing is essential since MMA requires it.

  • @TheDragonrage25 Kung fu es para peliculas y Aikido es un Camino. Así de tonto como piensas que es mi comentario es igual de tonto que pienso que es tu comentario.

  • I would like to learn this..SERIOUSLY. can someone contact me immediately at professional.nate@gmail.com

  • Straight to the point. The way it should be if someone put thier hands on you. Its over for them. good work.

  • wow just beautiful

  • Where did you learn and how long have you been doing it to get to your level? (and what level are you at exactly?)

  • OK, I'll catch a lot of crap for this, but the "opponent" is throwing punches so slow, and then after he throws that slow punch, it's as if his other hand freezes. Sorry, this is good movie stunt stuff. I like the way you counter, but the speeds of the opponent are not realistic.

  • @rbt4rbt You make a good point and this is a common complaint when working in trapping range, these guys are not operating from behind a guard, this is close range stuff and control a level of caution and control is all that is keeping his partner from eating some serious shots. All you can do is work the drills and try to keep your partner safe and then go train in boxing another day of the week. Though you will get tossed out of most clubs if you headbut and elbow people directly in the face.

  • @dutch04 Agreed, don't hurt the person you're training with. And then how "real" is a boxing gym or mma ring? Matter of fact, what are the odds we'll get into fights in our later years anyway that justifies all this training? It's good for the science of fight and the keeping in shape. For speed I practice with robot arms that can go quite fast. All good stuff to know though, along with other "tools". Who knows what life has in store. Peace, I hope. :)

  • @rbt4rbt Boxing and MMA is more realistic in there is real contact as far as what the rules allow but the setup for the fight is what is phony. On the street if a person confronts you and is in your face that person does not know how or even if you will even react. They may try to push you or put thier hands on you in any number of ways to try to occupy your space. The idea that both people should agree to back up and get ready to fight is total BS and is just a protracted phony situation.

  • @dutch04 We both agree, it takes guts to get in a ring even if it has rules, which it should. We also agree a street fight is a WHOLE other matter. I don't have guts so I stay out of such fights. That being said, many school and street fights in my life did not care how I felt. Fortunatley for me, what I lacked in guts, I gained in speed. I think it was the fear that got me to react fast. Being small like I am is not a great confidence builder against larger people. Crap, let's live in peace. :)

  • @rbt4rbt Most Kali schools spar still, so you do get a chance to work in practice. Personally, I train Muay Thai for stand up and Kali for weapons, but there is a lot of bleed over. Plus, in a fight you're likely to stun an opponent with a shot so rapid fire attacks can get the job done, especially assuming an untrained opponent.

  • @slobmarley Thanks. My issue with sparring is I don't want my head knocked around nor want to knock my partner's. Read too much about brain damage do to head hits. If I decide to spare in "slow", then reality is lost in speed. That's why I like my robot arms. Like you brought up, "untrained opponent". Look at fights on Youtube and you see so many of those. Plus, if given the time, the last thing I want to defend myself is just my hands. Better "tools" to carry than that. Be safe, life is LONG.

  • nice close quarters style.whats your foundation style? looks like escrima and hawaiian kempo

  • this guy is awesome keep up the excellent work a true fellow Martial artist :0)

  • damn!! 0.0

  • Outstanding.

  • Excellent!

  • man i imagine u and jason bourne now that would've been an awesome fight ;)

  • @TheDemonsam Me and Jason were at school together. He always forgot books and stuff so I often had to give him mine.. :-P

  • @ClaudioA What?

  • @smulanx3 joking ;-)

  • It's good to see techniques that will work on the street. I love FMA and I wish that I had the time and the money to take it now (we have at least two good instructors here). I've been in way more than my share of fights and I can say that I could apply 95% of what I see here to real situations on the street, as compared to 1-5% of most other systems. Thank you for showing some great techniques.

  • inspierd

  • probably the best foreign interpretation I've seen. mabuhay

  • I like your approach a lot. Kali's empty hands can make you a bitter opponent.

  • wow, this is effective!

  • Nice i see the joint destruction's in most of your blocks but you did it so fast the first time i saw this it didnt catch my eye. I would like to learn this but i can never stay focused on one fighting style, i'm always learning this and that because i love taking in knowledge of all of the world's ways to destroy the human body and defend yourself.

  • you guys did great!....very practical method, no fancy moves, just block and counter.....

  • great video!. I like more the empty handed work that using the sticks

  • what style is this called exactly and where does it come from?

  • hahaha! you remind of me of saturday eskrima sessions with my teacher...with me as the dummy.:P very well done sir. best wishes from the philippines!

  • Dude, that's wicked. I was looking for a style similar to the one Liam Neeson uses in Taken. This seems pretty close, really slick.

  • @davidcritic kali also used in the bourne identity trilogy movies.....

  • How similar is this to Modern Arnis?

  • @FilthyMcNasty586 Pretty much the same thing. You practice the modern?

  • Sorry for my English

  • I'm sorry for the guy who will fight against you: D

  • @KaliMALFig nooo.. training is training. Anyway, Thank You

  • I call it. Street fighting par excellence!!

  • Excellent example of panantukan/silat. Certainly gave me something to think about during out energy drill training and tapi tapi in the park. Brilliant to watch! Thanks for posting.

  • good work claudio. i would suggest shorter elbow strikes.

  • @Claudio how long does it take to learn panantukan?

  • @gamer5004 if you're truly serious about any martial art then the learning will never end and should become a lifelong commitment. you will get to a point where you will start to teach others if you're in it long enough. this way the knowledge becomes complete. oddly enough once you start teaching you end up learning even more.

  • its sound like u to were making out

  • Just went on my favorites. Beautifully brutal.

  • Men with such an excellent technique like yours are the reason i start training in FCS Kali and quit from other martial arts! Excellent !!!!

  • I liked the video, i've actually made it my favorite and I belive you can beat me up seven ways to Sunday but as a man I have to stand up and say something about those pants you wore with the print on the backside. Please don't wear them anymore. :) Great demo! More power!

  • @MelDimacali ahahahahahaha, THANK YOU :-D. I will. Promise..

  • @ClaudioA does this blend well with boxing?

  • @MelDimacali anyone who can kick that much ass is allowed to wear whatever he wants :D

  • If you enjoy this art, get outside in full street clothes and drill like this, go into hallways, on stairs etc... Wear leather jackets and jeans. This is how you get really effective and develop the muscle memory. Great Great Video, beautiful flow

  • Sempre belli i tuoi video... compimenti ciao

  • bravi, molto bravi, la prima cosa tecnicamente valida che si vede su you tube, complimenti.

  • WOW!!! That is totally amazing! Great video, it really pumps me up and I can't wait to reach that level in my training! :-)

  • Watching this video takes me back to the eighties training with Guru Bob Breen. Happy days and nice video.

    Regards

    Richard

  • @fillsack thank you. Guro Breen is my inspiration for Panantukan

  • In a word...OUTSTANDING! great demo... Subscribing now. Lol!

  • Big bald wolf! scarrrry thoughhh'
