  • arigatoo gozaimasu

  • w00t! i fineally understand the correct order! i love you1 xD would write summin japanese but wanna learn a lil more xD arigato gazoimas? mighta spelled that wrong...

  • Hayosiko Toyotashi ?? <<That's finnish

  • Anata wa sugoi desu! Domo sumimasen. Ganbarimasu.

  • I've been studying these vids for a week now and I can already understand the guys on Ninja Warrior. Suske. Watashi wa sugoi!

  • I know a Japanese woman and she said the same thing as, "Subject Obeject verb"

  • you lokk very beautifull in this movie

i wan't to mary a half japanese and half amrican

too bad i'm half chinese and half filipino

  • She fails to mention that the "middle" is called the OBJECT. Jap is a SOV in japanese typology, as oppose to english which is SVO in linguistic structure. I think most Altaic languages are SOV structured.

  • ssssssshhhhhhhh i'm reading while listening LOL

  • im pretty sure most people are aware of that

  • That'swhat a Japanese friend/woman of mine taught me

  • Domo for the info! xD

  • domo means you all. arigato means thanks.

  • yeah domo has allways confused me i keep looking it up allways comes as thanks, i know arigato mean thank you and arigao gizoumas or however you spell it mean thankyou very much but meh lol so domo means you all?

  • what she was talking about towards the end i thought was kinda ironic.

she said how they listen till the end of the sentence because the verb is at the end, hence you can't cut ppl off like in english.

and the japanese are known for being polite and not cutting ppl off is a polite mannerism so its kinda a quincidence that the language is like that.

dont know if that made sense XD

just thought that was interesting lol

  • yeah I noticed that too.

  • actually, ittadakimasu means, I'm taking only this. and you say: gochiso sama after you eat.. which means:what i had was good.we lived in okinawa for 4 yrs, picked up some words.

  • morau = to receive / to accept

itadaku = [the humble version of 'morau']

Changed into its polite masu-form, they become:

    morau --> moraimasu (polite)

itadaku --> itadakimasu (polite + humble)

So in other words, "itadakimasu" may be a common phrase used before eating, but what it means literally is actually "I receive", like if you were saying in a polite way in English "I humbly receive this".

Watashi ga kono purezento o itadakimasu. =

I will humbly accept this present.

  • Arigato!

  • itadakimasu is what they say BEFORE eating a MEAL...

  • @makaidog

Yeah... And often people will translate it as "Let's eat!" or "Here I go!" But it really means "I humbly receive.". That part kind of irritates me. lol

  • Haha Arigato means thank you in japanese :)

  • its actually,ittadakimasu..n it means

lets eat or sumthing like that..u say tht berfore you eat..its not thank you..

    tahnk you is arigatou..:)

    im learning too..

i hope i can master japanese...:)
