I remember listening to this song with my dad when i was younger, amazing song. I've been trying to find a copy of it for ages, thanks for posting it up, its good to listen to it again.
I saw him at Bridgewater Hall Manchester in June. A truly fabulous show which he started with this song. This has been one of my favourite songs ever. There are many covers but the best version is his own. A good second is that by Mae McKenna from 1975.
Great concert wasnt it! :) And well I went up after he sung the hungry years and asked him to sign my sheet music book I bought with me and he said he would do it after the show for me backstage! So after the show I handed it to the sound guy who took it backstage and got it signed for me "To Jack Cheers Neil sedaka!" haha! Where were you sat too then Barry?!
Ah Awesome you were right in prime view there then! :) Does seem to be a nice guy like you say! :) Being that near did you get up next to the stage for a dance to amarillo then? I certainly did! haha!
It's time Neil Sedaka and Paul Anka, both singers and composers at about the same musical period to make songs together. Nobody's getting younger and live longer for eternity. What a wishful thinking!
