This is a Bulgarian folk-style song about a folk custom/holiday in honor of Sveti Trifon Zarezan=Saint Trifon the Pruner (observed in early February). It is celebrated foremost by Bulgarian vine-growers and wine-makers. It reflects the Thracian influence on Bulgarian culture. Modern Bulgarians are descendants chiefly of the ancient Thracians, Bulgars, and Slavs and speak a South Slavic language. The vocalist is Veselin Marinov.
