  • banger.

  • Jeffery is on point right here!!!!!

  • The instrumental breakdown by Jeffrey Osborne (drums) and John McGhee (lead guitar) is the best part

  • I would so love to play trumpet in a band like this.

  • welll i sure get it. im 14 and im grooving to this tunne rite hear...not feeling that shityy music in 2011

  • Jeffery Osbourne killed it

  • This baby boomer says listen up... Love To The World.

  • Hmmm Hummm.....man they just ain't doin' like this anymore!

  • Great song....for this morning. SHare your LOVE....today.

  • As with alot of groups from this period L.T.D. is phenominal. It is really a shame that music isn't music anymore. The s_ _ _ that out there now is really just that S _ _ _.. The creativity that flowed through musicians back in the day will never be equaled. Real vocals, Real horns, drums, keyboard. violins. No group wanted to be a copy of another group, in fact that's the very last thing they wanted. When you heard they're songs they wanted you to recognize their creativity. Great Post.

  • Perfect example of how "good music" is a gift to all of us

  • What Can I Say? LTD Said It All...Love To The World!!! The Ram!

  • Classic. Listen to the message in the music not like the mess they put out now and think they doing something. Just proves that just in the game for a check, but hey if the record companies allow it and fools buy it what you going to do? Love the breakdown. Love to the world. Heaven help us. Hear my prayer. God send us.

  • I like how that electric piano is carring the rhythm. You don't hear that to often. The strings give it class. And the horns keep it real.I miss this kind of music.!!! 100% old school.

  • Give me some L.T.D, some Chaka Khan and The Isley Brothers and I'm back in the day. Thank You. I love this sound.

  • Gottta love the Mizell Brothers - they offered a sense of cool jazz to Soul Music of the day. J-5, Marvin, LTD and Donald Byrd. and perhaps so many more.Fonce and Larry.

  • YEP!!!

  • Thanks for the memories, when singing meant something!! Sing on!!!

  • Love to The World.....Today.

  • This needs to be our daily motto LOVE to the World too much violence 2011

  • Powerful, soulful music from the heart!......

  • who have this remix of LTD love to the world ???

  • YEPPPPP!!!

  • My first car stereo, it had an under-dash 8-track player and two big round speakers in the rear deck. By todays standards it was a toy, but I thought it was the kewlest thing on Earth, next to this song that is.

  • I haven't heard that in 100 years! Bless you!

  • Produced by Larry Mizell during the greatest run of funk jazz in history.

  • This song reminds of pure Justice showing up when nobody expecting it, LOVE TO WORLD, PEACE

  • Jeffrey with that TIMELESS voice, and what a great groove/breakdown for the chorus!!!

  • Jeffrey Osborne, what a voice. Great strings accompaniment.

  • @damoolah ...thank you for "hearing my prayer"

  • Im only 21 and ive been in love w/ LTD since i was about 13. When ur exposed to good music @ an early age, not only does it set a tone but it sets a standard.

  • i was 6 years old when this jam was hitting the airwaves.Does anyone have the performance when they did it on soultrain?

  • This is no joke. EVERY young person

(17-21) should hear this. They may not get it now..but they will sooner or later.

  • @kiddfunknyc Right On!!! This and "Everyman" from Double Exposure (1976). Great messages both.

  • You Damn Skippy.....J.O.s the man

  • The year is1976, i'm seventeen and working in a stationary store in River Park Towers in the bronx. Well every morning this woman would come in who loved this record to, no more info on her out of respect. I would be looking for her to come and not play this till I saw her coming, boy if she only knew what I did to her in my mind. What a great time, it was to be alive. And that's what comes to mind when I hear this perfect jam. PEACE

  • Bboys Unite! I remember the first time I heard that break at the Battle of the Year 99 and I couldn't get it outta my head; it's so catchy! Classic.

  • The break at 3:24 is an all time classic...

  • @kiddfunknyc Shit yeah! That break is stupid nice.

  • @kiddfunknyc 1of the greatest I've ever heard,Can't help but tune in on that,Very Beautiful Song!

  • we pray that the holy grandfather change the minds of the people of this world.

    one love.

  • Comment removed

  • FANTASTIC!!

  • i ask the holy grandfather to send us love to the world

  • Now more than ever this World is in need of "Love" "Togetherness" and "Devotion" L.T.D. dropping pearls!!

  • I bought this album back when it came out. It's still one of my favorites. It's a shame that Jeffery Osborne left to pursue a solo career thinking he'd be the next Lionel Ritchie cranking out pop r&b. LTD was greater than the some of it's parts.

  • you are right on one note "they were greater than the sum of its parts"but when one of your band members die it can take a toll on the other parts, exspecially when your all very good friends, also jeffery did go on to be a very sucessful solo artist, not bad for a guy who started out as just there drummer.

  • What A Voice !!!

  • dope song :D

  • what about their 1978 album togetherness are they gonna reissue that on cd? i hope they do because i had it on cd & sadly lost it. I have shine on on cd as well.

  • someone please post the bboy loop of this already??

  • A&M label to issue their 1974 debut album, Love, Togetherness and Devotion. On their third LP, 1976's Love to the World, the group scored their first Top 20 pop hit, "Love Ballad." The follow-up, 1977's Something to Love, included the Top Five smash "(Every Time I Turn Around) Back in Love Again," and four years later L.T.D. returned to the Top 40 once again with "Shine On." However, Osborne then exited to pursue a solo career, and the band's commercial fortunes dimmed.

  • loosestudios--------------they left out the "TOGETHERNESS n 1978.........the Top 40 as the measuring stick is nonsense AND bogus.

    "JAM","HOLDING ON","CONCENTATE ON","WE BOTH DESERVE EACH OTHERS LOVE" n 1978.

Too many artists/groups/bands charted on the soul/r&b/jazz/blues/country charts TO BE DEFINED AS 1 HIT WONDERS esp when they were going GOLD & PLATINUM..

The Top 20 & Top 40 POP CHARTS SHOULDNT DEFINE SUCCESS !1

perfect example: MAZE FEATURING FRANKIE BEVERLY.

    B Cool

  • anyone know the name of the instrumental?

  • This was a Damn Jam! Up Working! Thanx for posting!

  • Bboy sing !

  • wow...been looking for this four 2 yrs!

    and now here...on fucking youtube!

    lol tnx for the post

  • its time.. to bboy..

  • Songs with similar themes from the 70's era seem to be more applicable now than ever. Goodness knows LTD had a message in their music....great post!

  • SHEER musical genius...just makes you want to save the world...

  • lord help us their pleas fell on deaf ears.

  • Classic Chicago House music banger. I used to use this as my intro to my mixes! Its a killer.

  • Damn this song is so appropriate right now. I forgot how good it was.

    LTD was a band's band.

  • name of the melody?

  • whats the names of the tune, like the song without the words?

  • ..WoW!!.. Michael Watford covered this?...gee I can be so musically ignorant/niave..great track tho!!

  • bboy

  • Back in Nov 79 I saw them with in St Louis. Prince was the opening act but he didn't show. The Jacksons were headlining and even though they're my favorite group, LTD STOLE THE SHOW. Jeffrey Osborne was just amazing!

  • Wow! I Wonder If My Dad Saw That Show! We're From St. Louis. He's Told Me About So Many Concerts He's Been To. If I Were Born Around That Time I Would Have Loved To Have Seen That Show. But It's Great To Hear This Song So Clear. I Have My Dad's Old Vinyl Version Of This Album, And Everytime I Play It On My Turntable It Pops All Over. Amazing Tune.

  • This is one of my favorite LTD tunes. Ya just have to love Jeffrey's voice...so rich and strong. And to think he was the drummer first. Good thing they put him out front...Thanks for the post...AND ALL PRAY FOR LOVE TO THE WORLLLLLLLLLLLDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!

  • always enjoyed LTD vocals and had never heard this but I can tell you its a classic. Vocals are great.

  • I had to scroll through pages and pages of "On the Wings of Love" and the Woo Woo Song to find this song on your site! Heaven help us...

  • This is absolutely a sleeper classic. It needed more airtime

  • This is such a beautiful song. That's what we need today!!! Music like this to uplift people. There isn't music out like this that just touches you deep inside. That's just what we need, Love to the world!!!

  • i got this album in my collection, well...actually i kind of 'borrowed' it from my mother 26 years ago.

  • This song and Jeffrey take you off this planet and into the heavens.

  • thank you so mutch.....

    paradise garage,zanzibar ...the loft

    oooohh.this sooo good..

  • thats a buzz man!

  • Tro style

  • Sing it Jeffrey!!!!!!!!

    His voice is truly amazing...thanks:)!

  • Jeffrey's vocals on this track (and every LTD song)is just simply INCEDIBLE!!........

  • Of all LTD songs this is my favorite, I love the background singers all by themselves-LOVE-LOVE TO THE WORLD. Dam that's good. I loved the whole album but when I heard this song it made me fill that this song would help change the world. Sorry to say it didn't, it's much much worse. With that said, when I hear it it gives me hope for humanity. Am I dreamin? Maybe so, I'm still an LTD fan forever. PEACE & BLESSING TO ALL. Thanks (damoolah for posting)

  • i love this song. this has a dope break in it!

  • The band's finest ever moment, it really doesn't get any better than this! Larry & Fonce Mizzel taking care of business, Sky High and levitatiing, and quite rightly bringing Jeffrey Osbourne from out from behind the drum kit to the forefront where his powerhouse vocal rightfully belonged. Makes me proud to be a Black man!

  • this sucks i hate it (not the song of course) but everytime i try to rewind to a certain part it wont let me it goes all the way back to the entire begginning

  • saw em in St Louis Nov79. Prince was to open but didn't show. Nobody tripped cause he wasn't big yet. The Jacksons were the headliners. "Don't Stop till you get enough" had just come out. Though Mike and his brothers have always been my favorite group, Jeffrey and LTD stole the show.

  • Bledsoe50

Thank you for posting this cut; it brings back

wonderful memeories indeed. they don't make

music like this anymore; a true classic indeed

well thanks again keep up the good work!!!!

  • Careful, your age is showing there brothers and sisters. :)

  • I remember when I was a kid, I had my first in-dash cassette player in my first car. I used to play that song with my bros while cruisin' Broad street. Then I'd rewind it and play it again. They say there are no time machines... I beg to differ. Thanks for this video.

  • This is a great song

    eb0nycool

  • for the longest time i tried to find out who did this track. i heard once before remixed on a house cd. thank you damoolah!

  • This song is so strong. The lyrics r exactly what we need right now.we must start helping each other. That is where the change begans.

  • classic, pure class.

  • I listen to this song today, and it has a strong political message: from the recent shootings in my city (Chicago), to Darfur, to Iraq, Isreal/Palestine, Afganistan, and the entire middle eeat. I pray for peace and love to the world. Make love, not war.

  • "Love to the world, love"... great song. Thanks for the post

  • Viva La Mizell Bros.

  • Brand Nubian sampled this from their foundation album Nice!

  • Sure did... for the song "Shining Star" on that album...

  • Jeffrey Osborne has a good voice. Does he still record songs?? How long was he involved with the group, L.T.D.??? Is the song Dancin' Singin' available as a video???

    Just curious.

  • ltd was one of best of this decade

  • What a gift of a voice

  • classic tune! my eldest sister had this tune i couldnt stop playing. "love to the whole wide world".

  • Good post Damoolah! This cut was another production by the Brothers Mizell, Larry and Fonce who lent their unique arranging. They were best known for thier work with Donald Byrd, Blackbyrds, Gary Bartz, and others.

  • To DAMOOLAH could you please flip this record over and post the other version of "LOVE TO THE WORLD" the prayer version.. it's not for the dancefloor but it's deep as hell strong almost haunting vibe especially when JB goes off.. not to mention the child voices in the track. We'll check back Thanks.. Love and peace2U!!!

  • This is my favorite song by LTD. Thank you very very very much for posting this song ...

  • I saw Jeffery Osborne in concert a few years ago in Philly and even he had to give it up, that this was LTD at their BEST! This is the Real Music that I grew up listening to. Check out the horns and the rhythm section. ALL THAT!!!

  • I to saw him in Philly at the Dell East.. Im their every summer it was all that.

  • I saw him at the Dell East, was he with Regina Bell, if so we may of all been at the same show...lol

  • Yes she was, lol
