@GrimmGreen As of the last day or two I've seriously been considering getting a J-tank for my Prodigy V3.1 but I'm afraid of dropping the 20 bones on it only to have to wait to buy a 510-510 extension due to the V3's beveled adapter. My wife wants a tank solution for her Torpedo while on her 40 min. drive to work and I know if I get one and it works well she'll want one too. She's very resistant to change with her vaping and would rather use her eGo T for it. Thank you for the awesome vids!
Hey Grimm - I've recently been getting really into tanks and throughout my year of vaping, I've always dripped. I've only used SmokTech 'type' tanks and I've used nothing else just because these seem to work fine. I've heard many people saying that cartos will only last them a few days, yet I've been rockin' the same carto for a couple of weeks. How long do yours usually last?
i have the smoktech tank and cartos and they dont seem to make a connection on my ego passthrough. any ideas? i tried adjusting the center but if i pull it out too much then my passthrough will not work at all??
@GrimmGreen got it working on a 5V box mod, seems i got a bogus passthrough. it barely works now on SR cartos. emailed the vendor to see what he can do
What do you think of this poor man's cartomizer tank mod? Looks like a cheap way to try a tank if you have an eGO and are thinking of springing the cash for a new atomizer and tank but want to try it before you buy it.
I noticed the cartomator was on a lava tube. Seing that you can't use low ohms at higher volts with the lava tube, is that a single coil 3.0 ohm cartomizer? Now my head hurts. Just got my lava tube in and looking for a tank system that will work with it. Thanks.
Grimm--I have most of the tanks you reviewed but one you're missing is the Big Daddy from Big Daddy Vapor --it's definitely my fave--you gotta check it out!I've been using one of BDV's stainless steel carto tubes for awhile now with juices that will crack the poly tubes and it works great .There's also a youtube video review of a stainless steel carto tank tube with a window that Big Daddy is going to have on sale soon!
One thing I find is left out of most "tank" reviews. Their limitations. Certain juices will destroy some tanks.In less than 7 hours, my juice destroyed the "Liquinator".
For you to continue to put your good name behind this product and it's vendor, is not good. A little extra research on "tanks" you could of warned people that some citrus oil based, and cinnamon based liquids will obliterate most tanks, and at $20 to $70 per tank, that's important info you left out. Your still the best.
@RonHarrisMe Yeah if you use a cinnamon juice in anything but an atomizer you are asking for trouble, I assumed this was common knowledge, It's discussed quite a bit on my facebook, I apologize I should have mentioned this
Got a DC tank from thehouseofvapor and I'm loving it. I hated it when i first got it, because i didnt know making a bigger hole was necessary. once i got that done, it was the best vaping experience i've had so far. feels nice not having to bring a bottle of juice for an all day outing. watermelon/menthol juice has never tasted better.
BTW, can I purchase any GrimmArmy stickers or any Grimm Green Stickers? I would love to support you on my carrying case or Even my car!
Thanks for the Tank review. I've only got the 3mil J Tank but I really like it. Using it with a dual coil carto with 2 slots in it as I use 100% VG. Probably would work with one but I get to happy with the dremel tool I guess.

Also have you tried the 2.5ohm duel coil cartos from cov they rock on a vv device I can crank them to 6v on my proveri with no problem and they will blow the top of your head clean off so you have to ask yourself do you feel lucky punk.... @GrimmGreen with the stock holes they send them with. I just take my saddle valve and pop a few more in the carto. I even poke a few holes closer to the top so the juice saturates up there also. Also if you haven't bought a saddle valve yet it's a dream with punching cartos, they're cheap at home depot.
Totally understand the drip tip off the desk trick. It's nature's way of saying "hey that refill looks too easy, lets make you work for that next vape".
Grimm...in addition to the question I had below about the innovapor atties, I also wanted to know if uve heard anything about the "Thermovape" PV it is basically the same (like same manufacturer ) as the innovapor ultra max, but it has an herbal vapebabe attachment and cool delrin body armor, they also sell those same AVA atties but $10 bucks cheaper...worth a look
@smiitty19722 I have a 510 adapter that acts as a short extension to use a drip shield , and tha looks like it'd be close to the height of the button, but the tank might block some of the button and make it had to fire...this is just a guess, nick,(Grimm) could prob answer this for sure, and u could obvi use a gooseneck with a tank on top to the glv but....I'd recommend if u have the glv already try a 510-501 sealed adapter and a drip shield on a 510 atty...or if u haven't ordered yet, I'd say

You should try the arry carto tank version 3, not made from polycarbonate so will not react with any juice and it all screws together so no leaking problems at all!! Arry also sells a carto punching tool that works really well.
Great video, I really fancy trying a tank setup in the future. I jlove dripping but a tank would be great for driving and in the office. Again great video Grimm.

Interesting; I got SmokTechs from MadVapes, and they just have ONE tiny hole, but seem to draw liquid just fine (60-70% VG, so pretty thick). But I did finally notice today that vaping it outside in the cold (below 30F...juice flows pretty slowly) did not work very well, so perhaps a touch with the Dremel will help.
I'm going to try your filling method, too. I've noticed if you fill with the cap off, pushing it back on tends to force juice out the bottom of the carto. Makes a bit of a mess.
@GrimmGreen So far it seems way better than my first tank carto which was a MAP tank, which was good, but I always got burning tastes or the draw was really airy or both... I loaded up some Rawr Vapor Truth Serum 50/50 in a Vision Stone tank and set my provari to 3.3v and wow... It's just... I mean I never could taste the coconut in this vape until I tried it on this anyway great review have a good one grimm
I've been using the 5ml tanks from VaporJunction. These use the flanged DCC's with a hole and I haven't had any wicking problems. The only thing I do is use a push pin to clear out the hole and they work great!
Hey Grimm, I know you don't normally answer every comment you get but I just got a GLV-2 and everything to start vaping (noob) so what would be a good fitting tank to get for the GLV-2? Now take it easy on me, this is all new to me.
I tried some tanks, but I wasnt as pleased with them as I hoped for. Most of them are less then 5ml, which means they will not bring me over the whole day with one filling and most of them only work with one specific type of carto. Now I am running mine with the VapeMate from SuperT and thats definitively my style. works with any atty or carto with a 510 or 801 mouthpiece and can hold up to 30ml. lovin it.
PS: My last video on Juice DIY was one hour long. =P
Hey Grimm, love the videos! I have been on the fence about getting a tank, love the idea but I'm worried about the draw with them. I use an Ego style mod for vaping 100% of the time right now, and without the cone on it, the draw is too airy and cool and I really don't care for it. Being that the tanks don't allow for anything in there to tighten up the draw, I've been reluctant to go for one. How is the draw on these?
You should try to get the the GotVapes VISION Stone 5ml Tank Mod 2.0-2.2ohms and review it. Just ordered mine 2 days ago. Can't wait to get it and try out my first tank!
For those not satisfied with the size / draw of the pre-punched hole on most tank cartomizers....head to Lowes (or check online) and buy the $7-$8 Saddle Valve. It's designed for plumbing but works great for popping holes in cartos with speed, consistency and safety! You just slip the carto in...twist the sides down to hold it secure...and turn the middle pin slowly and *boom*....done....pick up your driptip off the floor from rolling off the table...remove cat hair...continue to vape. hehehe!
I will add my 2 cents here as well! Tanks like these DO seem to extend the life and quality vape of a cartomizer! Altsmoke(dot)com recently started selling tanks. For about $12 you get a 6ml (which is pretty damn big) tank, a pre-punched dual-coil cartomizer AND a free drip tip. The only thing better than their awesome functionality is the fact they look amazing on any mod. With a big battery mod like a bombshell, mantis or silver bullet WITH a tank - you can't go wrong!
@GrimmGreen Yes i have noticed that it leaks slightly at the bottom seal. I'm going to swap it out for a new one the same size or try maybe a little bigger ring if i am still seeing a constant seeping from the seal.
Other than that i do enjoy the carto-tank it is phenomenal. I just need to slice that opening somewhat, i agree with you about the drawing of e juice on the smoktech, I feel like i'm trying to get a garden hose to siphon water off the winter pool cover to get the thing to draw.

@cloud9vape The smoketech one I have has a single hole that is fairly small. Although it is a pin hole I have been vaping Boba's Bounty 100% VG without any issues. The juice flows in fast enough to avoid dry hits for me atleast. It is the first smoketech carto I have tried though.
yes, the two wholes are just on the opposite side of each other. if it's punctured, it's best to have 2 holes, and make them bigger. Even pure PG juice will have a hard time getting into that small hole. I just did that, and my 50/50 ejuice is working perfectly.

Another Great Educational Video Grimm. I personally use the SS Dual Coil Tank by MAP, but you are correct, they perform the same job, some do it better than others and the Slash Method is also my Favorite for cutting cartos. I used to use a Syringe to fill mine until I also found the Slide down and squeeze method, Very Simple, very easy and my cartos last weeks if not months in these babies.

@GrimmGreen So far it seems way better than my first tank carto which was a MAP tank, which was good, but I always got burning tastes or the draw was really airy or both... I loaded up some Rawr Vapor Truth Serum 50/50 in a Vision Stone tank and set my provari to 3.3v and wow... It's just... I mean I never could taste the coconut in this vape until I tried it on this anyway great review have a good one grimm

I've been using the 5ml tanks from VaporJunction. These use the flanged DCC's with a hole and I haven't had any wicking problems. The only thing I do is use a push pin to clear out the hole and they work great!

I tried some tanks, but I wasnt as pleased with them as I hoped for. Most of them are less then 5ml, which means they will not bring me over the whole day with one filling and most of them only work with one specific type of carto. Now I am running mine with the VapeMate from SuperT and thats definitively my style. works with any atty or carto with a 510 or 801 mouthpiece and can hold up to 30ml. lovin it.
PS: My last video on Juice DIY was one hour long. =P

Hey Grimm, love the videos! I have been on the fence about getting a tank, love the idea but I'm worried about the draw with them. I use an Ego style mod for vaping 100% of the time right now, and without the cone on it, the draw is too airy and cool and I really don't care for it. Being that the tanks don't allow for anything in there to tighten up the draw, I've been reluctant to go for one. How is the draw on these?

Just one word concerning the MC Tank: I'm a big fan of CE2 tanks (Map Tank, Clearo Tank, MC Tank), and I never really liked Cartomizers tanks.
I have 2 MC Tanks, which come in fact from Italy, and they can be found on Mondosvapo's web site.
They work really well, so well that I will order 2 more :)

For those not satisfied with the size / draw of the pre-punched hole on most tank cartomizers....head to Lowes (or check online) and buy the $7-$8 Saddle Valve. It's designed for plumbing but works great for popping holes in cartos with speed, consistency and safety! You just slip the carto in...twist the sides down to hold it secure...and turn the middle pin slowly and *boom*....done....pick up your driptip off the floor from rolling off the table...remove cat hair...continue to vape. hehehe!

I will add my 2 cents here as well! Tanks like these DO seem to extend the life and quality vape of a cartomizer! Altsmoke(dot)com recently started selling tanks. For about $12 you get a 6ml (which is pretty damn big) tank, a pre-punched dual-coil cartomizer AND a free drip tip. The only thing better than their awesome functionality is the fact they look amazing on any mod. With a big battery mod like a bombshell, mantis or silver bullet WITH a tank - you can't go wrong!

@gabrgr It's the number of heating coils in the carto. A dual coil will burn hotter and produce more vapor, but will also drain the battery faster.

@GrimmGreen Yes i have noticed that it leaks slightly at the bottom seal. I'm going to swap it out for a new one the same size or try maybe a little bigger ring if i am still seeing a constant seeping from the seal.
Other than that i do enjoy the carto-tank it is phenomenal. I just need to slice that opening somewhat, i agree with you about the drawing of e juice on the smoktech, I feel like i'm trying to get a garden hose to siphon water off the winter pool cover to get the thing to draw.

@cloud9vape The smoketech one I have has a single hole that is fairly small. Although it is a pin hole I have been vaping Boba's Bounty 100% VG without any issues. The juice flows in fast enough to avoid dry hits for me atleast. It is the first smoketech carto I have tried though.

yes, the two wholes are just on the opposite side of each other. if it's punctured, it's best to have 2 holes, and make them bigger. Even pure PG juice will have a hard time getting into that small hole. I just did that, and my 50/50 ejuice is working perfectly.

Another Great Educational Video Grimm. I personally use the SS Dual Coil Tank by MAP, but you are correct, they perform the same job, some do it better than others and the Slash Method is also my Favorite for cutting cartos. I used to use a Syringe to fill mine until I also found the Slide down and squeeze method, Very Simple, very easy and my cartos last weeks if not months in these babies.
