  • For a family car, this has plenty of get up. People need to see this stuff in context. Comparing a Mazda to a pure sports car, you're an idiot.

  • 3.7? 7 seconds? this car sucks! asss a 3.7L TL does it in 5.5 sec! Not saying these car's have any comparison except the engine size!

  • @SeadGBosnia Inside line tested the TL 3.7 at 6.3 0-60 with a 6 speed auto, the Mazda 6 V6 was 6.1. Heck my 256HP AWD Legacy does it in 6.5

  • @Turbo2012Sonata Inside line numbers are always wrong on every test they do! Proven fact!

  • @Turbo2012Sonata mmmmmm I want your leggy. What year is your GT?

  • @SubieSean Its a 2012, its actually the 3.6R Limited H-6 w/ Moonroof and Nav. Opted for that over the GT for the smooth quick shifting automatic :). The quality of this car doesn't reflect its $33,000 price tag, it feels more like 40 or 50 to me. Put a 0-60 video of it on my channel along with my old 2012 Sonata 2.0T :) Engine sounds great!

  • @Turbo2012Sonata I'm super jealous. I have a '99 Outback Sport right now and I love it. It's my first car and I bought with my own money so Im super proud of it. With 137k and 13 years old shes a champ. I love the way the H6's sound. I'm looking into a 2005-2007 Legacy. I wish I could afford the GT, but that also comes with higher insurance, and most likely tickets. haha so I think I'll settle with the 2.5i.

  • @SubieSean Thats a great first car! The H6 sounds fantastic, I'm going to upload some video's of my exhaust from the outside. Its stock, but sounds good. I saved up a crap load to get this car :) Cars are my thing and I can sacrifice eating out as much and whatever else to get this. Any Subaru has a special place in my heart. The 2.5i is a great engine and great gas milage with Subaru's awesome AWD!

  • @Turbo2012Sonata Thanks! She's been good to me. (Knock on wood). And yeah, I save my money for car things before anything else. Only thing I wouldn't want with the legacy is the ride height. I enjoy my OBS cause I don't worry about anything. If traffics busy, and I see no popo, I just went over the median. haha. That was only once though. And I had to cut through a parking in a hurry and it was an older building and the parking lot had a huge dip to the road, no problem with my OBS.

  • All I can say is I enjoyed my 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 If it would of had a 6 speed automatic it would of been My car today. I wish Mazda would bring back the Speed 6 It was built better, stronger and I loved its look over the standard 6 and it would surprise Bmw's often as I would leave them behind 60 - 100 was too easy so I would have to watch when I would pass someone that I wouldn't go ever a 100. I had it @145 mph many times. When driven on long hwy miles I would get 30 mpg. easily.

  • 7 secs?

  • I love this car!!! Hear that engine roar!!! ;D

  • gotta love the sound of that Ford V6

  • 5.8

  • with a better driver, TCS off, and also using the converted stick shift thing my mom has the 6 speed automatic 3.7 and i drive it now and then and i launch the shit outtaa it LMFAO. i really think it is faster than my v6 camaro:'''(((((( !!!!!!!

  • @TheNiqqers Sorry but unless you V6 Camaro is new or heavily modded... There is alot that is going to be faster.

  • That was impressive for an auto... and VERY impressive for a v6

  • i would get THIS mazda over any other crossover

  • @josesillo0789 The motor that Mazda uses is part of the Ford Cyclone Engine Family, Mazda took Ford's D35 (produced in Lima Ohio) and in 2008 bored it 3mm to 3.7L. The motors are assembled in Japan for mazda use but is not a mazda motor.

  • @themainmason Yeah, it's a Ford V6. Too bad Ford ordered Mazda to discontinue aluminum DOHC 60 degree V6's in the late 90's... the Mazda K-series were awesome engines (and what Ford used to base their Duratec V6 on). Currently, all Ford Duratec 4 cylinders are Mazda engineering, so it's the usual OEM deals.

  • @BunDownChoons I thought Ford Had the first duratec V6 (D25) engineered by Porsche Engineering (engineer firm under Porsche AG) Then mazda introduced the AJ variant from that. Mazda used the AJ and also Jaguar as well. The D30 was brought in by Mazda but is a D25 bored to 89mm.

  • @themainmason That's a funny story. In 1991 Mazda released a DOHC, all Al 60* V6 known as the K-series. It was shipped internationally hitting North American shores in '92. At this time, all Ford had was the iron-block OHV Cologne, Vulcan and Essex. Since at the time Ford had a controlling interest (>33% by Japanese law), they ordered Mazda to quit out-doing them basically lol.. they borrowed engineering from the K-series engines, which had input from Porche eng. and came out with the D25

  • @BunDownChoons That's good info, I continued researching and found some of what you were talking about. They didn't discontinue K series motors until 2002 though from what I can tell. Regardless, I still love the motor no matter where it comes from.

  • are mazda's still japanese made? or are they american owned now? i heard ford is now making mazdas...

  • @plkj13

Mazda6 was made in Detroit from 03 on, unless they switched I'd assume it's still American made. Better than MADE IN CHINA like the Buicks lol.

  • @plkj13 LOL Ford does not make Mazdas, they never have- and never will (at least not with a Mazda badge). All Mazda's are made in Japan, exc. the North American Mazda6. Interestingly, Mazda has for decades been making 'international' model Fords though, in their own factories. AutoAlliance in detroit makes the North American Mazda6 and Mustang, and that was originally a Mazda plant (MMUC) until Ford bought into it in late 80's turning it into AutoAlliance for Probe assembly

  • OMG did you guys know that the mazda3 went to 60 on second gear and this was like 55 miles per hour on second gear.... and this a V6 or I6

  • @Meganfox908 my guess would be at a Mazda dealership... :P

  • the manual is probably faster and more efficient

  • @smokinrobocop

The V6 models are automatic only.

  • u gotta tell me where u got that

  • u have to tell me where u got that

  • wow sounds amazing

  • Is that a Ford engine?

  • @Fedexkinkos1991

Yes, it is a Ford engine. A GREAT Ford engine at that!

  • @sleeksilver Pretty sure its a Duratec, sounds just like a v6 fusion

  • @sleeksilver that´s not a ford engine!? mazda use the same chasis as ford but the engines of mazda are on his totally mazda! ;)

  • @dcrews95 It's front wheel drive

  • Is this a all wheel drive or rear wheel car

  • @dcrews95 i belive the mazda is actually front wheele drive

  • that thing halls

  • today I test drove the 2011 model and I was amazed, loved it, quick acceleration great handling, comfortable, features... overall is a great SUV

  • WTF, a V6 saloon for a country where you can't get over 80mph :S

  • i have an 09 mazda 6 v6!! car is amazing! doesnt slow down at all! quick, fast and handling is amazing

  • really glad i got a passat 3.6..

  • 3.7? VERY SLOW!!!!

  • it was on jack stands

  • the 6 does it in 6! lol i think.

  • @highdeserthater its about 6.8 seconds which is pretty good , but i have an old jeep with the inline 6 does 0-60 in the low 7's, but mine ways twice more

  • this car is great i tell you what

i have an 09 mazda6 and boy do i have fun driving it :)

  • shoulda used the tiptronic

  • THIS THING HAULS ASS I DIDNT EXPECT THAT

  • @xxnissansilviaxx did u buy one?

  • @MrSteveco81 no just saying in ur video it looks quik

  • @xxnissansilviaxx it is but always looking for more power

  • i bought this car back in march lots of power for a v6. 272 hp to be exact. i would like to make it a little faster anyone have ideas on how?

  • @MrSteveco81 catback exhaust or a cold air intake

  • @vvitoxicivv i've looked every where but cant find parts for 2010 thanks

  • @vvitoxicivv oh shit dude, that sucks

you will probably be able to find them in like a year

  • @MrSteveco81

the simple things that can make it faster is a engine chip (50-300$) intake (around 250) nd a exhaust system (around 575$) you can prob add another 50 - 80 hp wit this stuff :)

  • @BIGchooch94 thanks but still looking no has parts maybe soon.

  • @BIGchooch94 yeah, and throw on some cool decals for +10hp a peice

intake/exhaust act as placebos, make you THINK you're going faster ;)

  • @BIGchooch94

You aren't going to get 50-80HP in a N/A car with just a chip, intake and exhaust.

    Not a chance.

  • your are one lucky person!

    mazda for life!!

  • 6,3 seconds. The old 3.0l with a five speed are almost a second faster!

  • @VitaminE6SS

What are you talking about??? Only the Mazdaspeed6 was faster than this new 3.7 with the automatic. The old 3 liter with the manual doesn't even come close to this.

  • @VitaminE6SS

    but It was less heavier

  • im getting one of these

  • 0-60: 6.8 sec

  • guess what i heard these engines are sealed so you cant ever fix them when they die on you. Also my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee can smoke this crap. It has a 0-60 time of 7.5ish and its all stock!

  • @vroizen

your stock grand cherokee will not stand a chance against this car...unless its the 5.9 liter and btw this car is faster 0 to 60 than 7.5 seconds

  • @andytaurus (i put that on my dads account) its actually only a 4.0 liter, but that's not bad for more than an 11-year old car.

  • @drippinblood28

yeah the 4.0 in those jeeps are rock solid engines i heard they run for ever

  • @andytaurus that throttle on the mazda seems pretty reponsive, but the whole look of the car just feels cheap to me...i don't know what it is, especially with the new look

  • @vroizen i am a mazda certified technician and that is not true, are u trying to say that if something goes wrong witht the engine u have to buy a new car? that doesnt really make alot of sence. i test drove this car today for about 2 hours and it is very quick, and ur jeep wouldnt stand a chance. Didnt jeep go out out of buisness?

  • @vroizen look at my video of an mondeo duratec 2.0 cosworth 193 whp, thats faster than your jeep (7 sec) and this is duratec 3.7 V6 with 272bhp. How do you do that math? By the way, my video is with 16k miles on it and it has now passed 20k miles. Still sounds new so durability isn´t a problem.

  • Wow. 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. Sweet! For sure, the new mazda 6 is nicer then the old one. Bigger engine, more performance and style.

  • nt as nice as a passat inside though

  • @ThePetrolhead94 I know. The Passat has a nicer interior.

  • 6.57 seconds

  • @NorthStarOlds lol wow 50 extra horsepower and 700 cc's more displacement, and it's only 0.13 seconds quicker than my 2004 mazda 6, which was a much more dynamic car.

  • this must be the 6 that's gonna be in the 2011 Mustang...strange that a Mazda shares its motor with a Mustang LOL

  • Not so strange, when you consider they are made in the same factory.

  • @tomzurek1 whoa--did not know that.

  • Might be, but this engine is shipped from japan, and it's the same as the one used in the CX-9, only one less HP and LBF, and btw if I'm not mistaken Motor trend, C & D and R & T, all three have clocked 6.1s in this very same sprint.

  • This engine is built in Cleveland, Ohio.

  • @andavid 6.1? Damn, I thought it was 6.2 and it still beat the other 3 Japanese...

  • @byronmohawk its the same base but this is only 272 bhp and the new mustang is rated so far at 306 bhp

  • ford has a 1/3 stake in mazda, thats why

  • Yeah, I believe it's the same basic engine...but tuned for 305hp in the Mustang instead of 270.

  • Yes

chorstma44 it is. my uncle has the cx9 and my dad has the cx7 , the cx9 has the same engine as this one

  • I think this has the same 3.7 my 09 mazda CX-9 has. It sounds the same too.

  • Slower than a Volkswagen CC 3.6L but still fast

  • Whoa. damn near 6 seconds flat?

  • that is a smooth car

  • Smooth and quick, im impressed by this car and its engine :)

  • I drove one of these when I was looking for a replacement for my '00 mazda 626..

they are FAST. They do NOT slow down even past 80-90mph... they are one fast ass v6, sound great, and honestly are one of the most attractive cars I've ever driven.

Btw, mpgomatic, the description says, "this Ram is equipped..."

    please fix ;)

    btw, i love your vids!

  • Thanks for the kind words and for catching the typo, Lightsy!

  • How did you like the car?

    power, comfort, everything?

  • Solid car. Working on the review now, but I won't be able to cut the video until after SEMA.

  • @lightsy2010 that is your opinion because you were driving a 626 bro. this car is decent but ride a car thats made for performence soley and you will understand fast.

  • @wowshiqptar Oh, believe me I've got more experience with vehicles than just my 626/etc. I'm just saying -- For a car that's.. well.. this car.. It's great. I'm telling you -- drive one, and it'll blow you mind.

Granted, yes - there are faster vehicles out there, by far.. but this 3.7L just has such a smooth feeling it's phenomenal.

  • Love the sound of that engine!

  • It sounds very much like Fords 3.5L Duratec V6. This just a bored/stroked version of that engine?

  • I think so

  • yeppers... just stroked i believe.. bore is the same.

  • yes it is its called the Duratec 37 its on new Lincoln's now too its a really good engine but the I4 from mazda which is Jap made is much better

  • Are you talking about the 2.0, or 2.5 (formerly 2.3)?

  • Oh and of course, "Jap made" HAS to be better than american made. Get real. American engines are every bit equal to "Jap" engines. And the 2.0L DOHC needs to go away, it's underpowered for the Focus anymore.

  • 6.4? maybe esc cut some power. Not horrible but kinda slow from a 3.7L.

  • I think Mazda has one of the most attractive lineups (san the new 3)!! I really love the appearnce of their guages!

  • The Mazda6's night time glow of the blue/red gauges really grew on me. By the end of the week, I dug 'em. My wife said that they "look angry." Whatever that means.

The 3's smile tends to be polarizing. I took a Speed3 for a couple of laps in the rain ... whooo is that one fun. Hoping to see one here either before or after the nasty winter weather sets in.

  • This new Mazda 6 seems quite impressive! I always look forward to your videos. Btw, I just got a Mazdaspeed 3. I agree with you; it's loads of fun. =)

  • Congrats on the Speed3 and thanks for the kind words! :)
