There are worse hits that have been completely unpunished. The only reason he was even suspended is because Van Ryn is made of glass and plays for the Leafs. The guy gets injured every time he plays throughout his whole career. Ovechkin laid a hit from behind on Josh Gorges awhile ago that was 10 times worse, a charge from center ice, and he didn't even get a penalty. Quit complaining.

Steve, Tom is not a dirty player. he deserved to get suspended for what he did but it wasn't an outright dirty hit (not going over this again), and a first time offense... 3 games was acceptable. Besides, Van Ryn is made out of glass. Grabovski's suspension was an automatic 3 games, Markov got the same thing two years ago and they don't even blink on that one.
