  • i like ur car :D

  • nice unit

  • haha id have alot of fun with a 250ft drive-way with snow lol. got nice GMC work truck with a 4 inch lift on it lol

  • Great but make the back come up a lil higher.... Nice Video!

  • Box that sumbitch in and its nice.

  • If it works, it works...doesn't matter where it came from or how it 's put together!

    Great job!

  • thats a great little plow, i made one with a plywood blade and an old tire as cutting edge. it pushed through 2 foot snow drifts with no problem.

  • lol.. All I can say is.., You CHEAP bastard hahhaaaa

Im fuckin with ya.. But come on you got like a pig roaster lid on the fron of your truck

  • cheap bastard

  • how did you make it

  • that looks real handy u know

  • just like a snowsport plow made in jamestown , ND

  • haha very nice work

  • Wow, really good for a home made unit!

  • that looks like the snow sport snow plow system that attaches to the front of your vehicle by a 2'' receiver

  • In Soviet Russia the snow plow pushes you

  • what did u make the plow out of and how did u fasten it

  • Must burn some serious fuel!

  • its a good idea mate, but you need a bigger plower so it takes more snow and doesnt go around

  • hey it beats the hell out of shoveling

  • not sure how effective that is but it looks like you were doing sumthing with it

dont think it would work to good in 3 feet of snow thou

  • Thats cool. I don't know if it would survie a Maine winter but the design works good. Maybe make it a bit taller? Either way it's so simple there is nothing to break like on my plow.

  • good idea.......better get patent!!

  • Thanks for clearing up the front hitch thing.I use mine for many differant uses. What you have is likely a fine product called "snowsport"Mine WAS made by me for my personal use on my driveway.I will admit it looks a lot like the snowsport unit but I have built a few things into mine that i wanted to try.I have had a lot of fun using it and it has saved me a bunch of shoveling. Thanks for watching .keep the comments coming.

  • The front receivers r used to take boats and there trailers in and out of the water at a boat launch. It keeps the rear drive wheels try if 2wheel drive plus it's so much easier to move boat around and move manuverible with front tires so close to pivet point on trailer.

  • I bought a front receiver for my Dakota because there is no spot to hook up to in case I needed a pull off roading or to pull someone out from the front. It also allows one to install a winch on a 2" receiver plate and install or remove it from the front as they please. I don't need a winch but my front hitch is rated for 9000lb pull. I also noticed by adding the front hitch it makes for a nice front end frame support.

  • @playtimel - Wow, I am definitely going to try that. I would have never thought of using the front receiver to launch a boat. I wonder how well the line of sight will be with my 24' pontoon. It can't be any worse than backing it in. Thanks!!!

  • pretty nice!

  • @76hodges

if fou goto one of there web sites; Snowsports HD for instance at

    agricover . com

you will find that its front or back.

i just want to know why you would need a hitch on the front of your vhicle anyway?(granted i belive he says somewhere he put it on there but i've see other vhicles with them already there)

  • @WhiteBunnyofDarkness thanks for the info, the ones that i have seen were for the back or atlewast thats how I saw them, thanks anyways

  • I agree ,in some snow conditions it would be better to use a snow blower. This was powdery dry snow.(kind of like sweeping those syrofoam beads that come as filler with packages)"Dang-it Spock stop being so logical,I.m just a mechanic not a rocket builder".LOL.Thanks for watching.

  • very clever. 5 *s

  • cool

  • It is a 99 chev tahoe/4x4/1500/auto with homemade front hitch and studded winter tires. The shorter wheelbase makes it slick for plowing.

  • is that a suburban or a tahoe? 2wd or 4? 1500 or 2500?

  • Get er dun!

  • i wish i still worked in a fab shop. i used to love building high dollar things at a fraction of the cost, and most of the time building it better. but i dont so i will be buying a "Snowsport". same theory as your cheap (cheap as in price)homemade one.

  • Nice build, I noticed that it drops down and tilts backward when you back up, I assume you don hav a means to raise/lower it?

I was also wondering if you had a build thread or build pictures as I'm curious how it works, I am thinking of building my own and loves seeing other peoples builds.

P.S. what did you use for the part of the blade that makes contact?

  • Nice plow Randy, people just don't get how you can actually use your brain and build stuff, even if it looks like someone- elses, like you say, it works , good job , I am making the same thing right now. I am doing the same deal, scrap in the yard I collected to build one. Way cheaper than buying and ya give yer brain a little exercise. Keep on building my friend.

  • Great lil plow cheap easy and doesnt beat up your truck if its just for your driveway its perfect !!

  • good for you Randy... since all vehicles that are plowing (professional or other wise) get damaged to a degree , its immaterial wether you paid 10k or a hundred bucks to plow your snow (and I bet you had fun doing it)

  • Very nice, do have any specs on this or is all just pieced together. I am looking to make one myself and was wondering if you know of a web site that may show and info or if you could give me more?

  • pretty smart id like one for my navigator

  • Thanks for watching!

  • better than nothing

  • I guess all I can do is to keep making trips till its all moved.I don't really want to make it higher because I would need a light bar to transport it than.I have thought of adding a rubber top flap to keep the snow fall rolling over the top.If we get a "big snow fall"I can always get my fathers 80hp tractor and blower to move most of it and use my "puny plow"to keep the little drifts cleaned up.Thanks for watching.

  • Ball park $s if you had to buy everything and have it welded together I would say in the $600-$700 range.I didn't pay that because I had most of the stuff kicking around my shop anyway and I work as a welder (so I did that myself)I know I can't keep up with the big plow guys but I had fun making it and have fun useing it too. Thanks for the comments -Keep them comming.

  • Well done.

  • What was the total cost to construct the plow. I think I see how it works. Actually a very simple design.

  • nice!

  • Sorry but I didn,t add it ,It IS windy in the winter up here in Canada. "eh" LOL. Thanks for checking out the video though.

  • most wind noise in a video...EVER

  • Any plans available? (Even on a napkin)

  • No my truck doesn't use chains on the tires. The tires are studded for ice in winter though.

  • Nice job!

  • The blade frame work is 2x1x1/8 steel tubing. The blade skin is a pc of 1/4 alum plate. The pushframe is2x2x1/4 tubing(uprights and the pc that goes in the receiver hitch. The bottom connector pc of the push frame is 2x4x1/4 tubing. The u-shaped blade guides are3/4 round rod bent. The scraper egde is a tread from a hy-way truck tire that I cut out with a sawzall. The other odds and ends were just scrap I had around my garage. The angling part is all made from 1/2x6 flat plate.

  • Creative !

  • is this SUV use 4 chaintires on 4 tires

  • I hate snow, we just had about 7 inches or so today here in Jersey, it will probably melt down by tomorrow or day after, but I can't wait to move south. I rather have it 90 degrees everyday and just crank the A/C when you get indoors, than to try and change a spare tire in 10F weather with those 40 mph wind gusts that make your fingers stop moving, lol. I don't know how those Canadians do it, they have the biggest balls, allbeit frozen, but the biggest.

  • Alright plow.. Bad vehicle

  • You could make this a pull type plow with some rearanging of the framework if ya really wanted to.Take some work but could be done.

  • Snowport is a VERY NICELY built snow plow, and by all means if your in the market for a personal snowplow you SHOULD look them up and look at their line up.What is shown in this video IS a snowplow that I BUILT with parts I had around my garage.I made it for my OWN USE and do NOT intend building or selling them.I am just a guy that likes to tinker in his garage making things for fun that he can get some use out of.THANK-YOU for your comments.Keep them comming.

  • You might be able to gear up a chain that would hook on after pulling up to a doorway, lowering the plow and than back up.Would be very slow but might get the small(backdrag)jobs done.

  • you should put a chain lift then you have it touching the ground

  • Came home from work this morning, pinned up,made 8-10 passes from the road to the back of my yard(to clean up the 10cms that fell through the night)unpinned and parked .Thats why I like this plow,so simple to use and faster than a walk behind blower could ever be for my yard.

  • How does it do with 12+" of wet stuff?

  • We just got dumped on this weekend, it works great!

  • no really i was JOKING. but that plow does look not home made.

  • Hey guys,I never said I INVENTED the modern day snow plow.I don't know who did(maybe you pros can enlighten me)I did say that I stuck together what I have with things I had around my garage. If it looks like someone elses design I'm sorry. You can only change so much and have it do what it needs to.Got to have a frame work, some kind of board and an edge.Bottom line,it works for ME.Thats all I care about. Thanks for viewing!!!!!!

  • good job ive been thinking about making one of these just have to get the energy shouldnt be too hard

  • Can you tell us what you made the plow with - what materials, etc? thanks...

  • that is NOT home mede its made by the guys who make truxedo

  • not truxedo, it's made by ACCESS! sheesh, get your facts straight before you go dumping on someones video. I have one works great. I never have to hire snow removal now, I got nice refurbished one cheap at overstocktruckbedcovers site!

  • i said by the guys who MAKE truxedo.. not BY truxedo.. read before you be an ass.

  • Ah,closer to $299.+ a bunch of time tinkering in my shop. But you can get the one at the walmart if ya want. Some of us DO things ,others just let someone else do things for them their whole life.Have a nice day.

  • Walmart, $999 boxing week special.

  • I saw a commercial for a plow that does that same thing and looks like yours also.

  • Thanks I,m going to try and tweak it abit this winter. When I have changes to show I will post some new videos. Thanks again for watching.Randy

  • We checked out your snowplow and it looks like it really works great!

If you checkout our other videos you will see that we added a rollbar. It can be removed with six bolts!

    TRACTIONNUT

  • It does have it,s limits(everything does)All I know is that for little money and just abit of time in my shop it has saved me ALOT of shoveling and my dad alot of trips to my driveway with his tractor/blower.Thanks for looking at the video and keep the comments coming,We can all learn from each others successes and fairures

  • How will it work with 12-15" of WET snow? A powdery snow can be removed rather easy I would think!

  • nice job, looks like i works pretty good

  • Absolutely fantastic work. Reminds me of a snow plow I made when I was about 14 for our ~1984 FWD Subaru wagon. The plow was plywood, and the car itself had a mounting "hitch" w/ a winch and elevated lights, that we kept on the whole winter! It worked fantastically, and let me tell you about the looks and questions we got!

  • I have used it on the rear hitch, but found it hard to see well. The rubber bottom is a tread cut from a tire. The main part of the blade is a pc of 1/4 alum scrap from work. The rest was stuck together with pcs I had laying around the garage.I need to make some box ends that q-tach on.I made it to save my Dad trips to my place with his tractor/blower,but with the snow we,ve got this year it,s been working overtime.

  • Looks like a SnowSport. Like the design but would like a rear plow. A sort of SnowSport/Superplow combo.

  • k works better than a 8 ft fisher deff!

  • pretty nifty!

  • peace of shit

  • I bet It works better than the front bumper on whatever you drive
