@edstrat69 I was 21 when she died... I cried for hours... RJ Wagner is a good friend of Carole and myself- he narrated our Lana Turner biography for TCM. I KNOW for a fact that he had NOTHING to do with her accident.
@soapbxprod I believe you--he loved her dearly--they had their arguments--but what married couple doesn't? I just wish they had had their last one on ground in Santa Monica--then she could have just gone out to a bar and cooled her heels. Alas, life just doesn't always work out the way we want it. Anyway, thanks for sharing--I know that it must be a painful time again for RJ and Natalies friends and family--I hope it gets resolved as do many. Natalie--loved by all. Miss her.
@windstorm1000 Robert Wagner narrated our Biography of Lana Turner for TCM! We flew to Aspen to record him. He was a sweet guy! Charming, professional, and generous.
I agree with what you say. However, there is the possibility of negligence here. Did RJ wait 4 hours after Natalie was missing to call the coastguard?
@brooklynborn81 As Ms. W. went missing, RW was probably drunk & sleeping it off. & then lost his smarts when told Ms. Wood was gone. Certainly, the Capt. could have over rode's RW's lack of action--but for reason's of HIS own--chose not to. & what of Walken? 3 grown men & none call the C.G. Certainly THAT is a mystery. It appears, though, that Ms. Wood's death is a deadly combo of booze, the ocean, & negligance-w/o criminal intent. Reprihensible--but not prosecutable.
@brooklynborn81 Yes, from what I've read he did wait 4 hours--as did the captain.. Certainly a STRONG case for negligance to possibly let someone flounder in the water for 4 brave hours--is that criminal?? I'm not a lawyer. This is great mystery. Why would the captain bring up this case after all these years? Something must be troubling his conscious. Like millions I will be waiting for the LA distict a. to come out with his report --and SOON. Ms. Wood deserves no less.
@calalilygirl No but Troy is in a different clip! That's James Fox- brother of Edward Fox. James was in The Chase with Jane, which was released in early 1966, so they were probably working on that picture in the Summer of 1965. Just look him and Edward up on the iMDB!
