Cuba helped break South Africa, stopping the spreading of apartheid into Angola and Namibia. The most important part, they didn't take anything but their fallen comrades. No mineral extraction deals, no preferential trade agreements. They did it for human solidarity, not imperialism.
All those fuckers who speak about the paradise the Cuban revolution is, remain me of Paul Sartre who liked Castro very much but prefered to live the life of a millionaire in Paris. My answer to all of them is fuck you. I lived long enough in that fucked up revolutionary paradise and it was a nightmare.
Now this is what the capitalists and imperialists don't want the world to see, and instead they say Cuban people are hungry (which is because of American embargo and the fall of soviet union which led to economic crisis), they call Fidel Castro a murderer when they have 0 evidence and they talk about media censorship (which is done because the media is the thing that makes people stupid).
Just facts: For a revolution to occur, objective factors must exist, people was going hungry, inequality, repression, lack of opportunity, abuse, etc. The social justice project of the Revolution was immense. I think that exile in Miami left Cuba when Fidel said he was going to teach to read and write to everybody. Can you imagine they have a law in the US Congress that americans can't visit Cuba, that small group is able of suppressing american rights.
I am cuban and thanks to all of your comment in support of the cuban cause. Cubans have no issues with americans, but against the small far right fraction of cuban exile in Miami. Those people represent what Cuba was before 1959, ignorant, racist and intolerant, and foremost a servile nation. Why can't Cuba and US have relations based upon mutual respect to the right to be sovereign?
@83alejsantana Thank you for your input. Regarding the small far right faction of Cuban exiles in Miami: You are obviously correct. I'll add: They are parasitical, support a "democracy" of the few & would sell out Cuba to the highest bidder. Your question is relevent & justifiable. Cuba is a sovereign nation. And the U.S. naval base in Guatanamo should be dismantled. Cubans like yourself are more preferable than Cuban "gusanos."
they say he's a murderer. i think every big leader is a murderer just not all of them takes responsibility for it. im gonna read about this man now im really interested
yep he's so great to Africa. But, what about America? What about his own country? Everyone forgets how he polices his people into buying what he wants. One gallon of milk on Monday. No more milk til the next week. Is that good? If you do think so, you're an idiot.
Nelson Mandela was a great man, but I can't overlook Castro's treatment of his people in Cuba just because Mandela appreciated his help in Africa. He and that sociopath Che Guevara are responsible for the deaths of so many innocent people, and Castro turned Cuba from a dictatorship into another dictatorship.
@jmclaughlin2009 Che was responsible for the deaths of so many people!? He freed thousands of people from dictators who didnt care about their people. He was a doctor and a philosopher and a great man. To be a revolutionary you have to love mankind.
@machinehead5760 Che was responsible for executing those who opposed the new Cuban government. Which, since this was a Communist dictatorship, meant that Che signed away the lives of anyone who disagreed with the state. He glorified a form of government that is responsible for the deaths of hundreds of millions of people, and by nature restricts freedom. The man was a thug, and a killer, not worthy to be spoken of by greater men like Nelson Mandela.
@jmclaughlin2009 No Che was responsible for capturing and putting to trial (which sometime led to execution) people who were high ranking people in Baptista regime and those who wanted to make a counter regime to put Cuba back into USA's hands. Who better to talk about being good to your people than Nelson Mandela, if a great man like Nelson Mandela says Some one is a inspiration for freedom, then i think it furthers my point.
This is what the people that hate Fidel don't want to see..this man is a great leader..they don't make them like this anymore, now we have the talk and no show leaders..I love this man..
@FcK2420 How do you explain the "Ladies in White" and "Christian Liberation Movement" protests movements in Cuba and the fact that their leader, Oswaldo Paya, has yet to ever be imprisoned despite being a political dissident.
@fran21ish I too live him!!!! He built schools in Jamaica, heped to liberate Africa and offered (they don't want to let people know this) offered hundreds of well trained doctors and tons of medicine to the people of katina ravaged New Orleans (Bush turned it down of course). And this man did not have to turn in his suits for fatigues! he was an attorney! maybe not as well to do as american lawyers, but better off than those he risked his life to help. Viva la Castro!!!!
Mandela, Fidel and Che = Histories GREATEST MEN :)

@xx1994xxversion2 pffft. He hasnt commited a crime yet. He himself hasnt spoken out against Cuba.
Many many members of these movements are imprisoned in Cuba.
Are you denying that Cuba lacks freedom of speech?
