  • Its always the whitie...

  • Why would they go for a throw from a back mount position? That's the position you want to be rear naked choke, or triangle, or punches to the head. I find it kinda pointless to throw your opponent to the ground from a position on their back. Also, alot of these throws require that your opponent is grabbing you a certain way, I don't think in most situations your opponent is going to grab you in the ideal way needed for you to throw them. But I learned some cool take downs. Nice video.

  • Anything before a blackbelt is fairly meaningless? That's a first.

  • great video :)

  • most grappling moves only work on people who have never grappled, or are off balance by accident

  • @OriginalOrigins untrue statement.

  • @brianspost75 put a veteran wrestler against a veteran judo wrestler and tell them both to stand up straight like in this video and preform these moves, i guarantee not one works, but in a fight or a match when your off balance off course they will work

  • @OriginalOrigins I've found against any decent opponent no martial arts moves work perfectly, I tried jujitsu went to like 8 classes got my ass kicked every time. But I am getting better learned some escapes now I do much better.

  • @OriginalOrigins A lot of judo throws are like that. But think of it like a clock. In a regular stand up position,(feet half a shoulders witdth a part) you will have balance on your 12, 6, 9, and 3. Throws aiming towards these areas are pointless, however, you are off balance on your angles mainly 4 and 8. In addition, many throws take out a lead leg forcing your off balance, or twist a joint in a way that forces you to fall, or break that joint if you don't fall with them.

  • thank you!! very nice video!

  • yeaaa believe it or not the blue is taking almost no pain just because the first thing they teach u in judo is how to land properly without getting injurged

  • JUDO THROW!

You can't run away... You're in for a world of hurt!

  • 3:24 thats f.u lol

  • @thegaragegang123 i'm 14 too and i also have brown belt, but osn't the min. Age for black belt 18?

  • That osotogari counter is really only if the person doing it to you is failing hardcore. If you execute the osotogari properly your opposing players arm should be pulled across your own body. Not on your shoulder.

  • this is so great....thank you!

  • Not bad.

    FOR A WHITE GUY!!!

  • Guy in blue made 67 trips to the floor and hospital

  • @Javierm0324 Actually....properly trained Judoka learn how to disable / takedown their opponents without serious injury.

This is a trait fairly unique in martial arts. Judo is a relatively new artform, while many of the older martial arts were intended as training for war.

As such, Judo can be viewed as a mainly DEFENSIVE martial art. Chokeholds, which are only taught to VERY experienced Judoka, are EXTREMELY effective at disabling foes without causing them injury.

  • hey guys i have something to ask.i now am 14 years old and ive been doing karate since 6 so that means 8 years.im now going to get a black belt and i've been thinking of starting a new martial art and i think judo is a good choice.still, from my experience with everything related to judo i find it rather difficult to use.i mean yeah it's easy in a dojo where the stances are fixed and your opponent only uses judo but what about against a puncher-kicker?can you put judo to use there easily?

  • @thethunder7ulti7

in my opinion judo is just as useful against punching kicking techniques as any martial art. In some ways it can be even better as most techniques involve using an arm which is made easy to get by punching. Yes, Judo is different from most other martial arts but dont let that put you off it is great fun and helps focus the mind and body. I too am 14 and will soon get a black belt in Judo. I hope this has been useful to you.

  • @thethunder7ulti7 Think and read and ask about Aikido ; it is very practical and combines Judo and karate, and it ca be useful in a street fight, in addition to the fact that it will be with you when become an older person>>Good luck.

  • @thethunder7ulti7 Of course.I an an MMA fighter 18 years old and i know something about judo and BJJ.So from my experience i tell you that this is going to work BETTER agaist a striker.See you create an opening by striking or by defending agaist a strike and then you unleash the takedown.Since you karate you will find out what i am talking about.JUdo is one of the best martial arts for me and it helped me through a lot.I hope i helped and good luck to you.

  • @thethunder7ulti7 First of all, why stop doing karate when you get to black belt? When you get a black belt, that is when you really begin to learn your martial art. Anything before that is fairly meaningless.

  • @keefm2005 no you dont get me.i never said i would completely stop karate, i just want to have experience on other martial arts.my physical training will act for both karate and my second martial art and i will be doing training on both of 'em in different days.of course there will have to be resting days and it will be tough on me and my time plan but i love martial arts and i want to do it.so, do you have any propositions?oh and thx to everyone who responded to my post.i think i'll try it out.

  • Reminds me of miss piggy.......HIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIYAAAAA!

  • Just a ton of head and arms and shitty double leg TD's.

  • dam that blue guy mustve gotten tired of gettting thrown to the ground 67 times

  • Comment removed

  • i feel sorry 4 the blue guy...

  • im also a black belter judo.... you know guys its very hard to get a black belt in judo especially if you are hard to get the lesson the sensei's teaching you!!

  • @honeyechizen you have 16 years, how much did it took you to get the black belt and what are the condition to get it?

  • @Romaniandick1994 in the BJA (british judo assossiation) the belt ranks are white, red, yellow, orange, green, blue, brown then black, to obtain a black belt from rank 1st kyu (brown belt) there is a point system which can be done by competition, or theory which an examiner asks you to do a certain amount of techniques from his choice out of any technique.

  • @B3nBo1194 Thanks, in my country we have white, yellow, orange, blue, brown and black, I'll go to judo.

  • im also a black belter judo....

  • well karate is not judo... anyone can be a black belt in what a year? it takes at least three times and longer to get a black belt in judo..

  • Some of these moves are hard. In our karate I'm a black belt and one of the requirements were to do 8 throws in 10 seconds. So that means you had 1 second to bow in 1 second to do each throw not simple throws either and 1 second to bow out.

  • i like to use that on my litle brother

  • Judo is my passion!:) But i dont like the new rules... O_O

  • cool

  • I did the one at 1:05 during a wrestling match

  • i love judo. i took it for a few months when i was younger and for the first couple of months all you do is learn how to take a fall so youll be gettin thrown and flipped around a lot. had to drop out cuz parents couldnt afford it anymore but the throws i did learn i used em when i was in high school wrestling. my wrestling coach made me teach the whole class. i ended up goin to state and placing 4th

  • @elbiestro Oh yeah?

  • 67 Judo throws, 65 of which will be illegal by 2020.

  • Judo is hard

  • 2:00 too fucking cool :D

  • im a bjj guy and we sure do over look the beauty of these throws. going to go judo soon as well then ill have great ground game great top game = complete game

  • Poor blue guy

  • esta mal

  • Judo ain't shit. Wrestlers are truly superior in athletic ability, size, strength and speed

  • @hahaguy13 If you talk shit, prove it.

I want you to wrestle a black belt in Judo. Or hell, any sort of intermediate belt, and tape it.

  • @hahaguy13 never..theres no wreslter alive who can win a true judo student.

  • @mrbboyjok im not discrediting judo because i train in it but iv seen wrestlers beat black belts in judo in the takedowns but iv also seen the reverse

  • @cmMoon yeah me too. that comment wasnt me it was my idiotic brother of mine

  • @hahaguy13 have you ever met a true International standard Judo player ? Even the middleweights have to turn there shoulders sideways to fit through a door lol they are immensly fit, ripped powerful athletes!

By the way you do know that professional wrestling is all staged and rehearsed lol

  • is judo related to aikido

  • @bear23jr

most if not all current japanese martial arts are descending from JiuJitsu. So in that sense yes they are related.

  • judo is good for sport but its no where near as effective as ju jitsu on the street

  • @bigmanoooo1 How is it not? It's throws jiu jitsu is basically submission wrestling

  • @BentonIsGAY alot of the throws are not practical in a street fight as they leave you off balance, also in ju jitsu there are strikes, judo is a sport derived from ju jitsu its basically a less practical version of it imo

  • @BentonIsGAY i have nothing against judo i used to do it myself i just think that there is a big difference between sport and a real life situation

  • @bigmanoooo1 I do jiu jitsu but not judo i think jiu jitsu is good for a ground game. Or so yea you have a point how its better for real situations.

  • @bigmanoooo1 you have no idea do you, ive done judo for 7 years, ju jitsu for about the same, karate for 5. judo is clearly a better style because of its authenticated real life situation throws and locks/holds. If a guy ran at me swinging arms, quick straight kick to the solar plexas, left straight punch, Ipon seonegi single arm judo throw then my uniquely hadaka jime srangle. TKO any street punk. I wud easily get beaten up by a street punk if i attempted any ju jitsu. Not 4 street, 4 comp.

  • @Guliii1414 lol way to show that you dont know what you are talking about, judo is a sport derived from ju jitsu, ju jitsu has everything judo has but more, there are throws/locks/strangles in jujitsu learn about martial arts before claiming you do them lmao

  • @bigmanoooo1 ju jitsu was actually designed to used in battle by the samurai, it is not a sport though it can be used as sport if you restrict it but judo is specifically designed as a sport, i hate the 15 yr old kids on youtube who think theyre experts

  • @Guliii1414 i think you are thinking of brazilian jiu jitsu but wat bigmanoooo1 is referring to is japanese or traditional jiu jitsu and judo is derived from it and the striking can be lethal....my instructor is a black japanese jiu jitsu, black in judo and purple in bjj

  • 20 people were beaten up by JUDO guys :P

  • In my carrier, i tried a lot of times 3:08, im telling u it is amazing!

  • Love Judo. I do Karate now but did Judo for 15 years. Superb.

  • Judo is such a great martial art.

  • judo is the best sport eva thumbs up if you agree

  • I'd love to learn this for the street added with karate and bokator-

    BJJ-for competitions and mma ONLY--in my opinon---OSU!

  • @Genmasta

    Me too.

BJJ is my primary grappling art but I REALLY want to learn these excellent Judo throws.

Id like to learn some wrestling stuff too like the takedowns for example.

  • shito ryu karate FTW

  • el judo es judo, lo demas s historia, lo maximo

  • judo is the shit :D

  • fuk u mtr fkr

  • Lol a lot of these takedowns woudn't work as well in real situations, since some of the scenarios and positions are rare found in the middle of a fight, and also due to the blue guy jumping down, helping the white guy, instead of trying to resist the throw.

  • @Slst09 Great uneducated reply. This is a demonstration. Why would the uke (person receiving the techniques) resist? That would be moronic.

Further, there are many ways of applying each throw and each is valid for different situations. In judo you learn the fundamental principles of the techniques first and only then do you look at specific scenarios (which are virtually endless).

  • @Slst09 As has been said, this is just a demonstration, a resistant uke would be counter-productive.

Judo practice places heavy emphasis on randori, i.e. 100% resistive free sparring.

  • So expand your skill set and learn how to do the throws with clothing. Under hook the arm, around the head etc. You will learn a lot by analyzing the throws and modifying them to suit your needs.

  • i know muay thai, wrestling, and brazilian ju jitsu. now all i need is judo and i will be UNSTOPPABLE MUHAHAHHAHAHAH

  • Holy...

  • After seeing a Judo competition on my xbox's ESPN thing, I'm super interested in Judo. I'm going to try to browse any gyms that have this :)

  • i would use more judo throws in my brazilian jiu jitsu, only problem is stances, jiu jitsu stances are leaned forward to make it more diffcult for throws, whereas judo stances are upstraight, only decent throw for jiu jitsu is a knee throw but easily countered by a rear naked choke BLAH!

  • @B3nBo1194 there are ways around it, go to a judo dojo and ask them to help you with that.

  • @ToraJutsu01 i do judo now lol been doing it for a couple of weeks, really good

  • The 20 dislikes are the ones who got tea-bagged after they hit the ground.

  • Nice video

  • haa I love judo but throws are never that easy when your sparring haa

  • @jouglexander lol ofc not judo throws are for judo only but it's nice to look at them you can learn a thing or two that can come in handy

  • @jouglexander I thought so too, but my Krav Maga instructor has managed to modify a lot of these throws to be executable from a counter attack.

Ippon Seo Nage is a great way to drop someone who's thrown a sloppy jab.

  • Granted judo is extremely effective martial art... I being a student of a 3rd degree black belt in it.

However I Study Krav Maga and I Box.

Judo relies a LOT on clothing... the throws rely on controlling the upper body to take control of the lower body. It is much harder to get control of the upper body when sparring or in a fight with no shirt and shorts on. However throws are still viable they are harder to execute... because of lack of upper body control

  • @thedipidip meh I just wrap my arms around his chest and throw and it works just as well.

  • I wince with every throw as I imagine this being done on some pavement.

  • Judo is such a wonderful art. Even though its the most difficult art I have ever taken, its very rewarding when you do a clean thrown during rondorae

  • I'd be dead b4 hes gonna attacks me O_O

  • fav'D it!

  • i like newaza

  • what your gonna wanna do is get wrist control and then pull out your gun

  • @TheMossad921 very true good self defense

  • The O guruma here is pretty sick...6:00

  • I pity the person who got thrown

  • Wow! Cool! Look at the throw "Hurai Tsumi Komi" at 1:58 !

  • Is Judo good for self-defense ? like when someone wants to punch you or stab you with a knife

  • are you getting threatened with a knife often?

  • @haftir you punch back and run or if you get control of the damn knife hand you throw and run away

  • Judo moves requires a lot of exaggeration of one's big black ass...similar to jiu jiutsu requiring one to use lots of extreme exaggeration of hipping out movements..the exaggeration is key to being able to generate Sensai type PoWeR..(it is actually just a matter of better leverage and when a person uses better leverage it makes people look as if they are GORILLA STRONG..FYI...good day friends.

  • is that Master Van Helder in the white gi?

  • @gracer99 yep that is! He's my sensei

  • @thebadger8 he's awesome, total badass.

  • what's better or more effective in your opinion bjj or judo?

  • @badfish42092 It depends on what your looking for. in MMA competitions BJJ is usually better because it deals with mostly ground techniques like striking and submissions. BJJ is a 1 on 1 fighting technique, while judo is based mostly on throws and setups for standing and striking someone on the ground. In the end, you can never really say which style is better, you can only compare fighters.

  • @badfish42092 bjj takes it's best takedowns/throws from judo.a judo black belt could take a but a bjj black belt down, but a bjj black belt could tap the shit out of a judo black belt. they are just different bjj concentrates on what you do on the ground, while judo concentrates on getting there.

  • ich have the brown belt next weekend im getting the black belt...Yes

  • Do you think it will improve my highschool wrestling? I want to learn hip tosses and shit. I am going to do it in the summer and off and on my senior year, then I am going to get my black belt, move on to collegiate wrestling (Nothing big Csu or CCC wrestling), than some MMA. If things go bad with testing out college, I am going to uncle sam, maybe airforce or navy.

  • @Supersmurf62 I thought throws were illegal in american high school wrestling. Too many people get hurt or something but in canada we don't care.

  • @Supersmurf62 Even if they are banned, learning judo will certainly improve your wrestiling. Judo teaches you to use your opponents momentum against them, which will make a huge difference to your wrestling.

  • Judon't know who you're messing with!

  • It Whill be very nice to place a music behind this video.. because its very interisting but ist boring.. whit no sound;-)

  • eh i watch it to music on another video, its good for on a laptop in the studio too to practice what you see

  • Agreed. I think 'Bodies' by Drowning Pool would be perfect.

  • @DuykRuyk Perfect....if you're a faggot that likes shitty music.

  • @bnosam I never said I liked it I just said that the song would be perfect because of all the people constantly hitting the floor. If you want to troll go to the aikido videos or the right winged religious videos. Those r much easier to troll than these videos.

  • @DuykRuyk I've done Judo and Brazilian Jiujitsu. I just absolutely hate that song, it's overplayed. So many people think they're hardcore metal heads because they like it.

  • @bnosam Then we're in the same boat. Now go talk to someone who has a different opinion.

  • hes getting his ass kiced the 1 in blue can anyone watch my youtube vids and rate them and comment and rate them what u think of it.plz

  • Great lessons !!!

  • this shit is sick but its alot harder to pull these then it looks in the video

  • brused to death

  • :33 to :38 lol blue guy gets rocked.

  • they are fucking strong also, much strenght and power

  • i love judo (;

  • @JuliEisZeit and judo loves you!

  • judo rules!

  • elegant:)

  • judo is da best

  • sucks for the dude in blue hes like a rag doll

  • great vid ... i dont do judo but id love to learn how to perfect one of these throws at least

  • @imboor3d sadly - this takes time.... for the first few months in a good class, you'll be learning something much more important....

    How to fall.

Because I can promise you'll be doing much more of that than anything else pretty much as long as you do judo - or any other Trad art that involves throws and grapples

  • @scopeophile Yea our jiu-jitsu instructor couldn't encourage us enough to learn how to break fall.

  • i used to do judo but den i got lazy and stopped doing it, can u still pick up from where u left?

id like to continue i stopped at the blue belt

  • I stopped for 3 years because of injury, and like you, I am a blue belt. I've started up again and the first few lessons were painful, but you'd be surprised at just how much you and your muscles remember how to do. So DO IT :p

  • Yes you can ;), well, i mean you can at most clubs, 90% of the clubs let you continue where you stopped.

  • yes you can!

  • yeah u can

  • yah if you got that far along you should be able to pick it right up

  • hi i go to judo im a brown belt and in my 1st judo class i learned how to flips and a great combination of martial arts is judo and brizilian ji jit su

  • a 6 year old in my judo team can do that throw

  • WOW Ippon Seo Nage thats the first one I learned! I did it to all the kids I didnt like at school... got in a shiiit load of trouble thou' (I was 10)

  • I am a Japanese Ju Jutsu practitioner, and I can say right now, these techniques shouldnt be ileagle in a tournament, what we do should be ileagle in a tournament.

Also it seems funny but these throws are only lethal if you dont know how to break fall and if you are off matts, other then that If there done right with control, no one should be getting hurt. on the matts that is.

  • jóó a videó,cool video,schöne video !!

  • Illegal throws in dis vid, n dis dude is goin to break his arm.

  • why they illegal?

  • There not allowed in champioships n tournaments.

  • They are still official Kodokan throws that you should have to learn, Kani Basame for one...

  • half the throws on this are illegal now

  • for wat reason?

  • Banes can be broken too easily if performed incorrectly, Kani Basame for example, but they are only illegal in competitions, not Dojo's..

  • is it just me or are alot of these impractical in a real situation especialy

    1:58

    harai tsuri komi

wtf, is that ever going to work

  • it works occasionally, even against good opponents. but you need a lot of practice to "catch" opponent step.

  • The whole point of having all these differant throws is they are used for differant situations and states of balance. I may be wrong but I'm quite sure the throw works by smacking the feet together and giving uke the feeling of being on ice as if having no control over thier footing. It's quite effective but usually requires timing to get the best effect. A timing I havn't figured out yet XD

  • hey listen , i am learning karate ,and karate + judo throws becomes more effective,so listen what do you call that move where you only twist your opponets arm and pull it downward then they will flip in the air and fall down ???

  • I think you're talking about Uki Otoshi..

  • that just looks like a foot sweep to me and you sure can do that in real situations if you are good at it. I remember some guy won ncaa wrestling d1's by using a foot sweep in the finals. all about timing.

  • there all practical in any situation, the more techniques you know and the experiance you have they shouldnt be hard to preform. Plus not all techniques will work on everyone, it depends on the situation your in, each technique will help you.

  • can u uae judo i wrestling

  • i caught 2 illegal throw i believe that can cause an extremely bad injury, cripple or even death! Daki Age and kani Basami , as a norm these two are avioded in completion and randuri

  • I caught two illegal throws that can cause serious injury player

  • lol at 4:01 thats an ankle pick

  • it is not soo great even the trows have some imperfection and the ipon seo nage is from a jump:)sorry!

  • very good instructional every throw perfected.
