dont know if the hadith is weak or not but when i looked at the previous ramadhan i noticed the 15th ramadhan has never fallen on a friday but if u look at 2012 ramadhan dates u will see the 15th is on friday that is if we start fasting according to when i says.

I can't even remember when i first started listening to this.....most likely a few months ago, maybe a bit more, but ever since i heard this, i've been listening to a part of her recitation on a regular basis. I absolutely love her recitation upto 1:15. I can't just listen to it once. I have to listen to it 3 times in a row - that's how much i love this sisters recitation. I wouldn't assume that all Hadith are authentic, even if they are labelled as such. The Qur'an doesn't explicitly say that music and singing are haraam. If music and singing distracts you from worship that is bad, but food, spouses and sleep can also do this, but they are not haraam.

The Hadith you referenced proves only that the voice of a women isdistracting to men during prayer when both men & women are praying. This Hadith does not prove that a woman's voice is Awra. Prophet Mohammad spoke with women who are not Muhram for him and obviously he listened to their voices. If a woman's voice is Awra, that means she should not speak to any man who is not Muhram.

The comments below made me laugh. It's a joke the state you are in. Someone posts a beautiful recitation of your holy book by a girl and you get into an argument about women not being allowed to sing in public. Pretty much saying her voice singing out your holy book with turn men on. Really pathetic. No wonder the Muslim community as a whole is in such a bad state.

I can't even remember when i first started listening to this.....most likely a few months ago, maybe a bit more, but ever since i heard this, i've been listening to a part of her recitation on a regular basis. I absolutely love her recitation upto 1:15. I can't just listen to it once. I have to listen to it 3 times in a row - that's how much i love this sisters recitation. I can't recite the Qur'an yet.....if only i could recite like her

There is well-known authentic Hadith in which females were singing and using music in Aisha' s room. Abu Bakr heard them and objected. Prophet Mohammad (p.b.u.h.) said to him, "Let them. Today is Eid."

In the quran the disbeilevers ask the prophet (s) wen the day of judement comes nd he says allah only knows. PLus the prophet mohammad (S) never told us wen they will come. That is wrong.

@RayKalmNiam There is no hadith about the men, but that doesn't mean that we have to be immodest in listening to them also. Alhamdullah in Islam there is hikmah in everything. We should always practice modesty in dress, speech and character and a modest woman doesn't listen to a man sing and vice versa. May Allah protect us from the punishment of the grave, the fitnah of life and death and the fitnah of messih ad dajal. Allahumma ameen.

@RayKalmNiam We follow Quran and sunnah not our own desires. Allah has told us in Quran and ahadith about the awrah of a woman's voice. We don't ignore that to suit our desires. How can we ignore the commands of Allah at such a time when fitnah is rampant? Obey Allah and His messenger and you can never go astray. Disprove the hadith with authentic proof and then you may have a point.

But you can't make halal on your own terms that becz it wasn't addressed to men, then that makes it halal for women bcz men and women should be equal in commandments. Just becz we cannot understand somthing, we shouldnt say that Allah was incorrect in His ruling, or unjust. We blame it on ourselves for our lack of wisdom. If you don't understand smthing, research it, dnt simply enjoin your own fatwas by misleading ppl.

Excuse me? Aren't muslims to believe that the Qur'an is complete in itself? God made the Qur'an easy to understand, after all, so it is quite an insult to say that, if you think about it.
I wouldn't assume that all Hadith are authentic, even if they are labelled as such. The Qur'an doesn't explicitly say that music and singing are haraam. If music and singing distracts you from worship that is bad, but food, spouses and sleep can also do this, but they are not haraam.

The Hadith you referenced proves only that the voice of a women isdistracting to men during prayer when both men & women are praying. This Hadith does not prove that a woman's voice is Awra. Prophet Mohammad spoke with women who are not Muhram for him and obviously he listened to their voices. If a woman's voice is Awra, that means she should not speak to any man who is not Muhram.

Allah commanded the women: "Be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease (of hypocrisy, or evil desire for adultery, etc.) should be moved with desire" (Sura Al-Azzab Ayat #32) It's not haram to talk to men out of necessity, like if the woman goes to the market. but when she speaks, there r conditions.

The Prophet [sal allah alayhi wasalam] said: "All of a woman is awrah. When she leaves her home, satan looks at her." [Tirmidhi] All of her includes her face, hands, voice.
