when i listen this song, i feel real pure feelings. and i can't understand. don't you know that Edward Maya's song is copy of it? it is true that that song is good. but it can never reach it:)
Let it rest. Stereo Love has brought me to listen to the many different versions of this "Bayatilar" and I enjoy every single one of them. Music is music... nowadays, it's not easy to come up with something and think it's original when the VMAs are mere carbon copies of the years before them. Listen and enjoy~
@agereyhan86 well, hello :) I always find it surprising that our western brothers have hard times understanding us, whereas we usually understand Turkish quite easily
My god. This is a song. Just like Stereo Love. Yes, they sampled. That does not make it any better, or any worse. Why not judge music on its own merit? How many artists sample these days? can anyone really claim to own a series of notes played in a certain pattern? Grow up. They're both good.
I will say, although Maya did copy the basic music of this song,he has used it rather creatively and has made it indeed very pleasant. So,Edward Maya definitely owns a large share of credit for the success of his song. The use of the basic tune from this song is of negligible inportance as regards the creativity of Maya in Stereo Love.STEREO LOVE's AWESOME <3
This is just like what happened with Madonna: The only similarities between "Frozen" and that one Romanian song it "plagiarized" was a chord progression. This doesn't even have that, except in the first three seconds of horns. "Stereo Love" did sample it though, but it's so different in feel (pop vs trance).
Stereo Love has taken the beauty of this song and brought it to the world. Thank you to the original singer and song writer and all who have made it possible for Stereo Love to get to the masses .. I think it is safe to say this version would not have made the airwaves here in Canada .. but here I am listening to the original on YouTube ... funny how that works.
theres was no point in edward maya paying this guy anything look at the popularity hes now gotten from this. stereo love made this song better anyway, he should be suing RedOne for producing On The Floor, thats much popular and he could get millions for that
@TraXXXtar i know my english is not perfect, its my 3rd language but at least i know what im talking about, ur 1st comment is full bullshit, what does redone has to do with this song?
u dont know anything about music.
i almost forgot, "fuck u" just in case if u'll start swearing again.
@umarovibo you cant fuckin deny it how else would this random azerbaijan song get 100,000+ views. look at you saying i don't know anything about music. well you don't fucking know me so stfu fucking fagget. "what does redone has to do with this song?" i can't believe im arguing with a real retard over the internet explaining to him common sense. so embarrassing
@TraXXXtar "stereo love" has no artistic value. the popularity of such a technically poor arrangement is a mere reflection of the lack of taste of the european youth.
@TraXXXtar Stupid dumbass, does insulting other people on the net make you feel better?
You're really a poor guy -.-'
You don't want other people to talk about you for you say they wouldn't know you but call @bneymanov a "social outcast". That's fking pathetic yo dumb prick -.-.-.-
I like the stereo love version, but find this one more awesome kinda.
Also there are enough people who'd known this one before!
I don't know why that Armenian girl at below wrote like it's not official but Maya himself stated that it's from Azerbaijani song and he even paid a visit to Azerbaijan, called Mansurov a genius. Of course, people would like Edward's version more but this is an old track - made by at that time's technology. it's from the times when Azerbaijan was a part of Soviet Union.
For people who say Edward Maya's song is better....his song is pure pop creation of 2010/11 based on original composition of Elday Mansurov. Without Mansurov's composition, Maya's song would be regular pop/techno crap we hear every day these days. What makes Maya's song stand out is, indeed, Mansurov's talanted composition. You can not compare composition made in 1989 to modern pop music - it will always sound different. But you must acknowledge that Maya's song would not get that recognition ..
Stereo Love is the only song of edward maya that I like and that too only because of the accordion part which now I know wasn't composed by him. Artists these days are just crappy. Hear David Guetta he's a retard
The two songs are more different than similar. The only thing that comes close is the tune in the beginning. That lasts what...5 seconds? lol. The rest of this song is pure crap. Edward Maya is a music genus...u cant compare these two together. This is a joke
You know, I like this A LOT. It kind of gives me a strange feeling of remembering something I never lived, 'cos in 1989 I was 10 years old and knew nothing about the world. The clothes they wore at that time, the hairdo and that particular sound in the music of that time. It's crazy but it makes me feel nostalgic of those years, even though I didn't live any of it, 'cos I was just too young to feel it.
Lambada by Kaoma is similar to Jennifer Lopez's "on the floor" song which is popular at the moment. Kaoma again did not create the melody either. It was a translation of the Bolivian "Llorando se fue" by "Los Kjarkas" back in 1981.
Edward Maya created beauty out of nothing. The accordion tune is from this one, but how good is this song compared to Stereo Love? Mansurov should just consider himself fortunate for his composition to have been used in something iconic, something that will be remembered for long and enjoyed by millions.
@lemaindeuday So if you created a 'crappy tune' (again as it's pointed out, that's taste, which doesn't factor into copyright), and someone stole it, made millions, you should feel lucky? Thankfully that's not how copyright works and people are protected. Translate that from music to a product, or a business model with an invention.. Copyright is copyright. Maya got lazy and had to share co-writer rights, which is exactly how it should have been. Want to sample, remix, redo? Get the rights
The producer who borrowed that small sound to make Stereo Love sure has an ear and sure listens WIDELY!!!!!!! How on earth did they come across such a song and especially the fact that it's a 1989 song!! Kudos Edward,Vika and team.
In the mean time Eldarmansurov should be thanking them for helping his 1989 song hit 20 years later :)
I'm okay with people making modern versions of music classics, specially if they can make them a success like what happened with stereo love. A good music professor told me once that the classical music like beethoven, mozart, and such are very present in modern cultures thanks to pop-ular versions, which don't kill them but instead give them a totally new life, just like Elvis did with "it's now or never".
due to the popularity of stereo love, and the absolute obscurity of this song, i think its clear that stereo love is way better, more dynamic, more expressive, and generally more entertaining.

@yourpizzahasarrived You don't really have any idea what you're talking about :) first of all, electronic music is the most repetitive type of music out there, usually consisting of about only 4 beats repeating themselves every 4-8 movements. While that makes it entertaining and catchy, it isn't very difficult to compose. (Dj artists like basshunter actually compose a hit song using only a pc programme in a few days of work, using mostly already existing sounds - thus called mixing not composing
I like both Bayatilar and Stereo Love. Instead of hating and throwing "mud", we should appreciate both songs/musical teams for all their pluses and minuses. Azerbaijan should be proud that Bayatilar was given a new form and life for the enjoyment of the world. Also, the copyright was settled, and payments were made.
@dorindorinco Yes, but I don't care if I made the worst song ever written, if somebody else took my music and claimed it as their own, then I would definitely have a problem with that, no amount of money would ever fill that hole.
Christ, you people get so fucking defensive about this song. People have opinions. There are people think Justin Bieber is better than Beethoven. Ignore them and get on with your lives.
I honestly don't get what's similar between this music and stereo love.....:| the music doesn't seem similar; is it the lyrics? hell, I can't understand them... and as of yet there is no google translate for audio files...
@bbphnix Listen closely to the pattern of the strings being played in the background @ 0:01-0:29 and then replace them with the pattern of the accordion played in Stereo Love. i love Stereo Love but even i can hear the similarities in both songs. both are great in their own ways.
if Maya himself agreed that some parts were taken from this song why are people still saying he didnt, please liste carefully and you will HEAR Mayas acordion in the back
"Bayatılar" is the basis of the refrain of the 2009 Euro-dance "Stereo Love" by Romanian musicians Edward Maya and Vika Jigulina. A copyright dispute over the song resulted in Maya acknowledging that the refrain in his song was actually taken from Mansurov's Bayatılar.[1]

I personally love the woman's singing. It's different. You have to keep in mind the time difference (20 years is a long time) and the cultural background (different cultures have different ideas on what sounds good, am I right?). It all comes down to "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder" or whatever the phrase is.
@andreas802 actually yur right, why do i even care. i like both versions and i don't work for either person, idk about you though. but its something i read in a few different places online, i don't know if they are true or not so yeaa

I will make the argument that this version is superior to Stereo Love because its hook is better and more developed.
In Stereo Love we get half of the hook and the stupid i VI III VII chord progression, fyi the SECOND MOST COMMONLY USED in pop.
WHY THE FUCK would we want to hear that for the 234098089th time? At least this version offers something more INTERESTING.

Christ, you people get so fucking defensive about this song. People have opinions. There are people think Justin Bieber is better than Beethoven. Ignore them and get on with your lives.

wow, i admit it is the same tune with the Stereo Love.. but still, stereo love sounds far better.. lol
okay, let's go to the dance floor!

Everyone, the music is not stolen. Edward Maya and the composer of this song signed as co-authors of Stereo Love. They have an agreement.

I honestly don't get what's similar between this music and stereo love.....:| the music doesn't seem similar; is it the lyrics? hell, I can't understand them... and as of yet there is no google translate for audio files...

@bbphnix its the tune dude. the first tune you hear in this song and all that stereo love is comprised of. i love thiss!!!!!!!!
niknetball 1 year ago
@bbphnix Listen closely to the pattern of the strings being played in the background @ 0:01-0:29 and then replace them with the pattern of the accordion played in Stereo Love. i love Stereo Love but even i can hear the similarities in both songs. both are great in their own ways.

Message to those who think Maya stole this song.
Eldar and Maya worked together. In fact, Eldar is a registered co-author of Stereo Love.
Google "eldar mansurov edward maya". It's the second search result.
Cheerio.
