  • what happen to the other side of the model which have not shown on the picture?

  • Could you explain or show how to put furniture into a photo using this software? Is this software capable of such a thing? Do you know if I would need any other softwares to achieve this? This is quite urgent so if anyone has any leads for me, they would be greatly appreciated. :)

  • @LPSGRGES Inside Google SketchUp go to "Window" -> "Components" and then select whatever furniture you want. There's also a search option to find things more easily. You can also download thousands of models online for free to use in Google SketchUp.

  • Kermit?!?!?! lol good video

  • wow. that is sweet.

  • Don't orbit. Now you tell me.

  • that is the coolest thing i have ever seen i wanna try it

  • How did you make a video of this? I need to make one for a school project.

  • hi. u can go to reach for "screen2exe" in the internet (only can run in Windows System). this is a programe create high definition of audio and visual quality for your own screen record. u can download the FREE version, all of the common media softwares support your outcoming video format.

  • Thanks so much for the help.

  • Is photo match in the free version or is it a Pro only function?

  • oh my god..you are like a gooru (guru) you are a google sketch up 7 guru or a gooru thanks sooo much!

  • Amazing!:)

  • thanks

  • the orginal sizes on photo is the same size on sketchup?

  • thanks sir

  • You, sir, are a God. Thank you...

  • Great Tutorial! Thank you!

  • thanks!its very useful :).

  • that was very useful, thank you

  • can you give me the link of the picture ??

  • what would happen if google take over autodesk? anyone?

  • Unlike sketchup which anyone can pick up, autodesk requires lots of effort and reading. Nothing basically. If google offered it free, then we'd have a better tool for professionals to use for drafting but it wouldn't effect the common sketchup user.

  • @courage713 Sketchup definitely has its limitations. Any somewhat organic shapes freeze it up. It can't draw circles, only many-sided polygons. Since it's so user-friendly, it's limited in the tools you can use, and so if you want to make helices or any 3-d organic shapes (like an airplane fuselage) it can be extremely difficult, and by the time it's done it usually goes to slow to continue.

  • @courage713

Wouldn't happen. I'm a 3d artist in training, and this is not even close, on any level, to what the Autodesk products can do.

  • wow

  • nic job

  • I just discovered Sketchup tonight...this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen :)

  • Very fine program. Can you do this on Autodesk Inventor?

  • dude this is apple sketchup

  • Why does your sketchup look so different then mine?

  • He has a apple

  • amazing

  • i didnt realise it was that easy

  • @roryh50 its not easy at all. ive used it and its a pain in the ass

  • @sharks445 i will admit its hard to understand but practice makes perfect

  • but that isn't the real you, right ?

  • excellent job thanks for your hard work

  • i still cant figure it out

  • Can i borrow the pic?

  • Hi Aidan, I was wondering if you find it annoying that hidden geometry is now created in version 7 when you use match photo. Let's say you draw a chimney or a dormer coming out of the roof.. when you project the textures they go to the front most geometry and anything behind them gets subdivided sort of like a stencil shadow map or something. Google "Project photo bug" and you can read a thread about it.. Its EXTREMELY annoying but It doesn't seem to be a bug..

  • this is all good and a nice explenation man but you're just not showing us the most important thing! how do i set this blue green and red direction thing?! when i push/pull the square that make a de-formed shape!

  • YOU WATCH THE FIRST VIDEO, like he said at the beginning of this vid :)

    look on his channel

  • Nice:D I suck at photo matching. I never can make the faces in the right dimension!

  • HaloWarsFreak, You can get the non pro version for free, but if you want a more advanced version (pro) you have to pay

  • VERY AWESOME :O thx so much

  • how did you get the pic in? by importing it?

  • These tutorials are so fantastic. I highly recommend this guy's book, it's one of the best for Sketchup ever written.

  • wow

  • is this for sketchup 7 pro only??

  • Whats photomatch?

  • Wow! That was great!!!

  • Very Cooll...

    Tank´s

  • Thank you so much. I watched most of ur videos and this is my first day having sketchup and i dnt use it for any purpose. just for fun. and now its so easy. thanks!

  • nice job!!!!!

  • Photomatch I find is pretty easy to do but the one thing that I cant find in your videos or on youtube, internet or in Sketchup for Dummies book, or ANYWHERE is something explaining how you do this on all sides of the building? In Google Earth, textures are on all sides of a building but there are no instructions telling how you do this. I do what I think it right for doing this but it will never line up for all angles of the building at the same time. Please make a video explaining this! :-(

  • Search for this video: Google SketchUp Technique Series: Match Photo Part 2

I think it will help. Good luck!

  • you need photographs of all sides of the building to work from, and you basically link the views together.

  • @kellyjinva vhfcvfhfgdfwrthjtr4s

  • It was good, but i think it should have been a bit slow..coz most of the viewers are dummy , so thats my perspection..

    Any way great work..

  • Thanks so much, I really didn't know how to use properly before now.

  • You are the Man!

    Thank You for sharing.

  • Thank you for sharing this! This was my first time at SketchUp, and you made it a breeze.

  • How to activate Photo Match in Sketchup? Or does it work without it? Just matching the axes?

  • Thank you :) this helped me a lot

  • ha iv got sketchup 7

  • TELL ME WHAT PROGRAM THT IS

  • google sketchup

  • The speed un creating the model was amazing. Great video.

  • because most of the time you only get one or two pictures. what if the photo is from half the world away?

what u gonna do? fly there and take photo of each elevation? ass hole. the software is amazing and u can render with photorealism. shows how much u know

  • there actually is a software, which can do that. it`s called: Rhinophoto. it is a plug in for rhinceros.

  • Rhinophoto is a nice approach but it is still not able to do it by itself. You need markers which is stupid - and you don't have a texture.

  • Yea, seriously, this program allows you to make 3d models pretty realistically like 100 times quicker than most other programs. It's really intuitive.

  • cool info

  • Hey man, this program is not crap, this program was made to easly 3d edition, and it's better than just do what you said cause you can edit, practically, everything, you can do new doors, new windows, just... pacience.

I have a video using that program, what I did is not posible to make in that kinda program you mentions.

  • Sut up ur crap this software if really good and for people that understand how programming works (not like u) its useful.

  • shut your mouth this program is awesome and truly innovative. If it sucks so much i like to see you make a better one... retard

  • maybe in 100 years... I saw a program that did that but you still had to draw lines for it to work.

  • Finally, an easy to understand tutorial on this, thanx! my only question now is how do you map the other side of the barn if you have a pic? It seems to be similar but the vanishing point lines and the XYZ just dont seem to line up the same way. I cant figure out its method of how it does things

  • it depends on how big the picture is

  • WOW ! nice tut!!!!

    very simple showed!! nice

  • i must tell you guys to buy the book its brilliant worth its money

  • That's a great tutorial!!! Thanks a lot man!!!

  • i was wondering how you can make a 3d image because when i do the squareas and move it it is all flat and when i use the push pull tool it goes in all different dirrection

  • Can you do this in the free version of Sketchup?

  • Yes!

  • whats the difference between pro and free?

  • Yes, you can do this with free SketchUp.

  • Thank you for sharing. Great video! 5*

  • Hm. Ok.

  • Do you have any good photos for me to use? I cannot find any.

  • great, nice video.

  • Excellent training video. Thanks.

  • Muy bueno... muchas gracias!

  • Say I wanted to model my house using the match photo tool. If it had 4 sides, would I just take a picture of each corner of the house, showing each wall. Match up one side, then stich in the other pictures after realigning the axis? Thank You

  • Basically, yeah. On a simple building with four sides, I'd take two photos: one at one corner, and one at the opposite (diagonal) corner. That would give me images of all four sides.

After using one of the photos to build two sides of the building, I'd realign the axes, then bring in the other photo and use it to build the other two sides.

  • You are M-AZING

  • but how can you get the texture on the back your model, do you have to do photo match twice? but how???

  • This is amazing! Thanks Aidan!

  • thank you :) (salamat po! -tagalog)

  • beauty!

  • nub

  • Mil gracias, por tu aporte y tus conocimientos, s@lu2 desde Loja-Ecuador

  • bro are you using the proo edition?

  • Nope. Everything I show in this video was done with Google SketchUp 6, the free edition.

  • How I do to paint the same material on the roof and another areas of the model?

  • What screen recorder did you use with these?

  • I used a great tool called iShowU, from Shiny White Box software. I highly recommend it.

  • sweet

  • Yep, he is a genuis. Thanks man.

  • can you like this with burj dubai plse

  • thanks that was realy helpful

  • thanks for this!

  • Just create the texture in photoshop and then you can fill what you want with the textures you have created.

  • Is there a way to kind of mimic the photo texture and color all sides of the model?

  • Some people would call you a geek or nerd,

but actually you are a Genius!

5/5 this is stunning work. Worth the time.

  • Genius?! everyone can do this thing, its just the bases of sketchup
