“How do you play any of Kid A live? How do you even write an album like Kid A? And how on earth does a distorted, confused and recycled Thom Yorke sing along with a real Thom Yorke, playing a keyboard that gets recycled and cut up too, until the band can leave the stage while their music goes on, slowly eating itself?”— Consequence of Sound: The 30 Best Live Versions of Songs, July 8, 2011
@thelibearbeeny If you want to provide a link to the high quality version of this video, you need to use &hd=1 instead of &fmt=22, the latter doesn't work anymore.
At the beginning, thom sings REM's 'The One I Love'!!
'This one goes out to the one I love~ This one goes out to the one I've left behind~ A simple prop to occupy my time This one goes out to the one I love~'
Thom knows what good music is. and make good music. nice.
@sumner0619 yes sir or ma'am. thom and radiohead have a deep relationship with REM and look up to them actually, and I'm sure REM looks up to radiohead. lol
@ochovarium - if this is your choice for a sample introduction of human culture to the alien explorers when they arrive, I would like to nominate you as one of the directors of the alien embassy.
@theastralproject -- ... mmmmh ... Radiohead ... great, great music isn't it?... and what is it you need? names? have to check the internet, first ; ) and "western" for western society, (you know). cheers
My favorite performance of my favorite song by my favorite band. If aliens come to Earth, sharing this video with them will make our relationship a peaceful one.
I bought tickets months in advance for all points west in NJ and then a month or so later my friends coerced me to go to lollapalooza. I ended up seeing Radiohead on two consecutive fridays on this tour. I don't know if I'll ever have a summer like that again.
@OCIRELCNU Oh noooo, I guess everyone should never do anything again then in case they spoil it for someone else. Do you think the band would be happy if everyone just stood there in total silence? Have you ever even been to a gig before. Keep reading Pitchfork on your laptop in your mom's basement. Dickhead
@rorz999 lol, i dont read pitchfork, and scrubbles shouldnt clap. Just so everyone knows this roffle is just mad cuz his dad pays me to fap in his face every tuesday.
I think Everything In Its Right Place is my favorite Radiohead song and possibly my favorite song overall. To me it represents the ultimate search for finding new things, searching for new experiences, not settling for the norm, being creative, and just growing as a human being in general.
@Badoosh45 This song means the same thing to me. When I listen, I experience a constantly attenuated, iterative process in which order rises out of disorder. However, I feel as if the song's original intent has sinister undertones. Like I don't listen to street spirit anymore because I read Thom's explanation.
If you guys like Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Jeff Buckley or Muse, check my band White Note on youtube, by clicking on whitenotetheband below. Let us know if you enjoy it :)

the technical abilities of radiohead are phenomenal. this has to be THE best version of "everything in it's right place" know one comes close (maybe massive attack)
This is just fantastic. The best version of this song. Each member is doing such a perfect job. Johnny and Ed create these amazing new melody lines out of the sampled vocals. It's actually an amazing talent to be able to do that, like at 4:00 - 4:13. It just adds something amazing, along with the rhythm section, and the stunning vocals, this is the performance that sticks in my mind of radiohead.
one of the best bands in the world, disc by disc, they try to change their sound and style, for me, for this reason, radiohead is one of best bands in the world
@lukepleaseshutup As a huge muse and radiohead fan, i believe that they are as good as each other, but radiohead are now in a different genre and so they have a different style of showmanship.
Some people think I listen to too much Radiohead. I, on the other hand, don't think I listen to enough Radiohead, because if I did, I would be finished, and I'm not.
What kind of a retard do you have to be to even compare bands so different as Coldplay and Radiohead ?It's much like comparing P.Diddy to Chopin , ffs !.
I love both Coldplay and Radiohead . In their respective genres they are among the best .
I couldn't agree with you any more. I heard Coldplay and i always saw comparisons to Radiohead. I decided to listen to Radiohead and they blew me away. Radiohead is absolutely on another level than Coldplay. (P.S: I don't even listen to Coldplay anymore lol. Radiohead all the way!)
Radiohead is the musical equivalent to an autistic and hungry Catholic Priest on the Friday immediately prior to Easter Sunday. A more perfect analogy cannot be found.
It's interesting to see the Coldplay/Radiohead debate here. Coldplay was the first music I ever loved--I got into them in middle school. They were my favorite for a long time. People told me I'd love Radiohead, and finally I did indeed hear Optimistic on a Coldplay Pandora station and was hooked. Now Radiohead's spoiled me for Coldplay. There is something similar about their sounds, and I feel Radiohead is more sophisticated, grown. But I still love CP for getting me ready for RH, in a way.
i would kill to hear this song live.
