  • Is it bad I knew and have used all of them?

  • "Warsh yer briches." Wash your pants.

  • ur Southern Style accent was good, it sounds right 2 me, but what do i know i am a aussie

  • Can you tell me what you said at 7:33? for the life of me I can't figure it out.

And lol I live a little bit south of Boston in MA and I say over yonder all the time :D it's not something that's said all the much, but it does happen from time to time

  • @agreatpenname "I gotta ketch (catch) in meh get along". LOL. :)

  • I looked this up because my boyfriend told me that he loves the Southern American accent, specifically Tennessee.. I guess I was curious :p

Unfortunately for him I have a fairly non-regional Welsh accent, meaning most Welsh people don't recognize me as one of them, but if I leave Wales it's really quite obvious.

I quite like the way words mash together when you speak and it's not fair that people always refer to the stereotype when talking about the South. Hell, even that book you're reading!

  • :) Thank for the video!

  • I notice the sort of head jerk when you use the southern accent. Do southern accent people have that too? Anyway, you are really pretty for a late 20's or early 30's woman. Godbless!

  • Im from Scotland and i just love your accent, its absolutely amazing : ) It has got to be the sexiest accent for a girl ever!!

  • @Bay1211 Thank you so much for your super sweet comment! Also, thanks for the friend request and for subscribing to my channel! (I have another channel I'm trying to get going if you want to check it out too...username is mysticsensitive.....if you're into that sort of stuff. Have a great weekend!

  • im from tennessee but been living in pennsylvania. my husband is from here. i never think about how i'm talking untill someone points someting out and says i love the way you talk. my husband is always playing around trying to talk southern, lol . he loves it when i say im "fixin" to do something.

  • Lol I'm the same way! I'm in Raleigh, but my family is from Siler city. :P

  • Omg! I didnt know maryland was a southern state. I researched it after my cousin and her mom from chicago told me i gotta southern accent. Then my boyfriend from cali said i do too. Its odd cause i didnt know maryland had an accent, a southern one at that.

  • beautiful woman

  • Yes! We are fun loving but we ain't stupid! Hello from Georgia!

  • i'm from north carolina, too, and many of my friends sound like you! :) the reason i say my friends and not myself is because even though i've lived in nc all my life, i hardly have a southern accent. also, i'm assuming you have some connection to unc? i go there right now!

  • What is the name of the person's channel you subscribed to?

  • @BenjaminEE Her name is "hunnichow"

  • your neutral accent sounds very central Indiana.

  • I'm from Missouri, i have a southern accent , and people do look at me like im stupid by the way that i sound..my husband thinks its hott as hell...

  • Your Southern accent isn't that strong, what you really want is a strong Brummy accent. They are funny :D

  • Im from Ireland and im laughin ere coz we can talk a little the same in the way we slur our words together when talkin to friend :) I sooo dont think people form the south are stupid. I really enjoy the OTT accent so dont yall loose it ;)

  • @wkdwiz Well thanks. I am part Irish! ;)

  • @wkdwiz Well, the Southern accent developed largely out of Irish and Scottish accents so that's why you can hear some similarities

  • i love my southern accent. GA baby haha.

  • this is a southern accent? i always thought that was how all americans spoke

  • @Rumo333 haha :)

  • @Rumo333 Her southern accent is very subtle....so much so that people from other countries might not be able to detect the southern twang in her voice; but most Americans can.

  • I like the southern american accents compared to that horrible californian accent you hear on the telly...

  • Exactly! We aren't all stupid<3

  • Don't change you accent!

I'm Australian, and people always assume that we are idiots as well. And that we always say "G'day", which isn't true for people in the city, occasionally men in the country will. Darn Hollywood for creating false stereotypes!

Personally, I love southern accents. I think men sound really attractive with them. Also, I don't know why, but women with southern accents always seem very maternal to me.

  • @Esouthon1 Oh how sweet. I think most Americans, myself included, love how the Australian accent sound!

  • My grandfather talks like this yet he was born in New York but he spent a lot of time in Virginia&Arkansas so I guess it makes sense I also live in New York so I don't speak like this lol

  • i am not american or english, i am from mongolia and i have southern american accent. i dont know why? my teachers were shocked when they heared my accent. english is my second language and i am not fluent in english.

some people say that i watch lots of american film but i dont to be honest. i read book a lot

WHY do i have southern american accent? anyone can help me please

  • I don't think you should change your accent. It expresses who you are. There is nothing wrong with being a southerner. But I know how you feel, I have been teased all my life by northerners. A lot people actually like Southern accents and think they are sexy. I would much rather listen to you than a Mid-Western woman. That's just my opinion.

  • I'm asian and my boyfriend is a southern american. i'd never think he's stupid or whatnot. he's somehow sexy and hot when he's talking <3

  • I think Southern accent is charming. Thanks for posting!

  • I hear there are different southern accents? In which area would your southern accent be from?

  • You are super hot!!!

  • Your accent doesn't sound southern though I don't think southern Americans are stupid either, it's probably a subjective myth.

  • @genelin1995 Really? What does it sound like?

  • Don't worry about your accent (very mild). I was going to say Houston-ish/Florida-ish, which like you say has some thick accents, but it has a very neutralizing effect on your "south". There will always be some coastal jerk that wants to pigeon hole you, but that makes them the hick, doesn't it?

  • @unholyimage True, but I hate to think people think other people are stupid based on their accents. :(

  • So you deliberately changed your accent? Why?

  • @smacroc People pretty much think you're ignorant with a strong southern accent.

  • @smacroc I originally tried to neutralize it when a high school teacher told me I needed to because I'd have a hard time getting jobs and I was planning to be public relations in the Army. I went to college on an Army ROTC scholarship. Then, I moved to an area where I was made fun of all the time, and I just got tired of it I guess.

  • @UNCRatDog That's kind of harsh ... wow. It's funny how people make these judgements. Like a lot of other people here, I really like southern accents.

  • this is a good point. I live in south-west mo. i hate that i can go outside the city and hear the the most hillbilly accents.

  • @vaINZANE In MO? I guess we're everywhere! lol.

  • I live in Kentucky, and mine isn't as bad as most around here.

  • The southern accent is useful if you have to A. Scare northerners B. Communicate with Trailer folk C. Survive if you get trapped in one of those Deliverance/house of 1000 corpses scenarios.. theyll think you're family.

  • @Faelsun Best comment ever! lol. :)

  • @Faelsun The northern accent is useful if you have to A. Hook up with other dudes in a New Jersey airport bathroom. B. For yelling at people in NYC traffic. C. To get a good price on clam chowder. D. Er, most northerners hate their family, let alone strangers...

  • @DustinCSA Hilarious as well.

  • you sho got a purdy mouth hahahahah

    thats from deliverance

  • @MOAONAABE I totally knew what you were talking about without you even saying that was from "Deliverance". lol.

  • @UNCRatDog I used to live in Texas, and I love the ladies with the heavy Texas accents. It is a turn on for me. I wouldn't change a thing.

  • @MOAONAABE Well thanks. :)

  • I had a very strong southern accent. I've almost lost it, but I also start talking in my southern accent when I'm around people with really strong southern accents. :P

  • @AutumnDeathKart It's really weird isn't it?! Listening back to the video I wasn't so sure it sounded very "southern" to me...but when I'm around my family, or others with a strong accent, my husband can't even understand me! lol. What part of the South are you from?

  • @UNCRatDog Very. :P I am getting better at controlling my accent when around family or people with strong accents though. :D

I just hate it when people think of me as a "dumb hillbilly." >:l

I'm from Southeastern region of the U.S. I live in the East Tennessee region. :P

  • @AutumnDeathKart That's how I feel also. I hate when people judge your intelligence based on your accent.

  • @AutumnDeathKart im from east tn too! a little "cow-town" called elizabethton... heard of it?

  • @darlingnikki8807 I do! :)
