  • Battery I have for it I never put in...I still have it wrapped in that protection paper...For this machine you just have to have a juice all the time available....Biggest problem I had was with its bag...Laptop bag...So I contact HP to find me a laptop bag and after some time they actually made a suitcase for it...Looks like luggage, with roller and all that...Pretty cool...Bottom line,if you like big display this is a awesome machine...

  • KingOfSand100 i really don't know where you got that Info That this LapTop is $5k,I bought mine over buy.com in 2008 and I paid for it exactly $1600 .Im bit more gamer than something else and it has pushed all of the games i wanted to play on full,I never had any problems with it...Its big and heavy but still more movable that a desktop. This is definitely rear machine and i think it is very difficult to find to buy it,cause HP made just "few" of 'em .

  • so thats how a computer nerd looks like..

  • Continued @KingOfSand100 ..Apart from that it WAS $5000 when it was configured to order on their site.. now you can get one from Ebay or elsewhere for $1800-$2500 depending on how much it was used, it's condition, and if it has top specs.. that is IF you can find one EVER. I'm STILL looking for one with top specs..!:( Less than top specs usually sells for between $900-$1600 or so.

  • @KingOfSand Continued.. the fact that it stays cool really not matter what you're doing because of the bigger frame, and the amazing sound/audio also because of the larger frame. It's really just an excellent product that WOWS you because of it's exceptional and elegant design.. it just has that Apple-ish kind of aesthetics to it WITHOUT lacking on power.

  • i have pne but it has windows7 ultimate, 2 320 gb hardrives and 4 gig memory (YAY!!)

  • i'am afraid that it's tilting one on the back does not break that's what i'am thinking about!...

  • i don't get how why this pc is $5000. i spent $1500 on mine and its hella stronger than this. 2.88GHZ duo, 9800gt, 6gb ram, 500gb hdd, 1440x900 led display. wtf makes this laptop $5000.

plz respond to me without being an immature jackass.

  • Is that the retail price? I only had it on loan for review. Its was a nice machine but to big for me

  • ya from all the other sites i have seen this on says $5000 to $6000. while you were messing with it; was it worth that price?

  • I can't find any unboxed ones, but I do know that there are refurbished ones around for roughly £800.

  • @KingOfSand100 How is 1440x900 better than 1920x1200 WUXGA? Is the 9800 REALLY THAT much faster than the 8800M GTS, which is pretty equal when it's overclocked? What makes this notebook worth it is it's unique and excellent design, 20 inches of 16x10 screen real estate in a semi portable set up, the one of a kind dual hinge that lets you move the screen to wherever you need it to be without having to position yourself in relation to it, its gorgeous quality WUXGA screen..continued.

  • @KingOfSand100 The screen size. That alone makes it very hard to build. Granted, I've never heard of it costing quite that much.

  • Still love my macbook pro......anyway cool laptop...enjoy it..

  • you can download quicktime

  • is it touch screen

  • no it's not

  • Does it have or can you get quicktime for windows?

  • weiners, can you tell me why you like harmon kardon better, i ask because im an electronic engineer.........you dont go by name

  • It's very big, wow....I am getting the Sony Vaio CR series though!

  • can u still win the computer? hehe

  • although i have an hp laptop they use altec lansing speakers

i like harman kardon speakers better

  • ima savin up! its my freakin dream laptop! i cant wait till i get it!!

  • i broke down and bought it

  • Thank you VERY much Landixon for a great unboxing-review!

  • it looks like a desktop pc

  • thats why hp calls their laptops hp pavilion entertainment pc

  • hey how much battery life does this beastly laptop have and is it light enough to carry it?

  • How much?...

  • 2000$ bucks top end 1300 bucks low end with 500$ odd coupon currently in stock.

  • coupon where???????

  • laptop

  • because you can tune into TV with it, you can hook up video game consoles to it, you can watch blue ray on it, you can use 7.1 surround sound with it. You can also record TV with it and play back recorded shows. it's a TV, a 7.1 sound system control center, a computer, a music center for the house system.

also the remote is useful for presentations. you can even record gaming on it with the remote, good stuff.

also why get up to pause?

P.s.(almost every laptop comes with a remote now a days)

  • Wow so you can watch your tv on the laptop with it ? ( that make sense ? lol )

  • I love it. I could totally use this as a laptop. i would just need a bag big enough. Sure makes a graphics designers life easier having the 1920 x 1200 & 20 inch view screen.

  • any idea how come after over 1 full yr on the market, there are so few references to this showstopper on the web? i've been putting off purchasing one because i'm terrified of HP's Customer Service. any valid comments and info very welcome! (thanx)

  • This laptop is really great laptop,it has some greatest and more features that no laptop has.

  • it more of a desktop replacement and a home entertainment pc

  • its to big.i think its very impractical.why not just get a laptop.
