This is why I don't make fun of Justin Bieber. His music is HORRIBLE but he's just a kid that doesn't know any better. If you got together a room full of people who were born in the '70s and '80s and you played "Ride On Time" by Blackbox and "Everybody Dance Now" by C&C Music Factory, they would probably all go crazy and fill up the dance floor. One of Milli Vanilli's songs would probably clear the dance floor. Ironically C&C Music Factory and Blackbox pulled the same stunt & used Martha Wash as their vocalist instead of those girls in their videos, yet Milli Vanilli are still laughing stocks to this day.

I remember this story. Whilst it's a bit naughty, it's not the end of the world and I certainly don't understand the upset. I just took it for what it was- nice songs and two handsome guys doing fun dancing. I feel for Rob, that it affected him so badly.

A German press article said an executive with Sony has a 13 year old niece that didn't know who Milli Vanilli was, so they dropped funding. Hello, 13 year olds are not Milli Vanilli's fan base. Universal Pictures can just get a different director with new funding... Milli Vanilli will live on!

Still a fan of theirs and I DO NOT blame them for doing what any other poor teenager would've done----took the opportunity of a lifetime. Its unfortunate that it cost Rob his life though. I can't wait for the movie to come out so that we can hear the truth behind the devils in the music industry! On another note, I never realized how fine they were, esp Fab!!!! :)

Never understood the fuss about what happened. Most of these stars don't even sing. If it wasn't for the magic of the studio they would be nowhere. I remember some group actually used models in the videos because the real singers were overweight. Nothing happened to them. I think this was blown way out of context. and those poor guys were scapegoats for something that is commonly done in the studios today. They used these poor guys who actually were living in the streets.

@marbleann I think because Milli had won this prestigious award & their U.S. distributor actually had marketed Rob & Fab as the singers, it created an enormous embarrassment for the U.S. music industry. Their success in U.S. had already endured them a lot of ridicule because they were perceived as these black foreigners who made cheesy Eurodisco & the music industry profited off basically cutting them loose & branding them as a joke. Milli was a big deal because they were the most popular.

I heard their "Girl I'm gonna miss you" the first time during summer vacation in the Black Forest in Germany. Then already I knew it would become a huge hit. I liked and still like the song and didn't/don't care for who sings it or performs it.

Awww it's really sad and honestly I wasn't mad that they lip synced their songs. It's just one of those things. Everyone makes mistakes and Hollywood isn't what everyone thinks it is. It is so much more than fame, glamour and money. Some producers are wolves. They feed peoples lies and eat their prey, only to leave them hanging....so glad the true story will be out!
