True, the UK health care system does has its flaws. We, in Holland, have since 3 or 4 years the same system and guess what? It works great! Our health care system has been the best in Europe for the last 2 years. In 2006 till 2007 we were rated as #2. This is rated by the Euro Health Consumer Index.

I am pretty certain a system lke the NHS has no chance of survival in the US, however, I don't think it is right that you folk should be blasting our system. Everyone is covered here, and whilst admittedly, for the more expensive treatments, things are harder to come by, at least everyone is treated.
You can point at you 'UK survival rate lowest in Europe' statistics all you like, but 1 in 4 people WITH insurance still do not get needed care. Sure that stat may be a bit vague, but its there.

I don't mind the US not having universal health care. It wouldn't work. But it does here. It really does. I really didn't want to bring up personal issues but I do know people that have survived cancer. The NHS has also saved my dad's life, twice. Call answered immediately.
I don't doubt that the report was true, especially when you compare britain to France, Germany and (good heavans) Norway.

I hope the health care idea will be put to rest for now. US does need to fix the health care problem, however state run health care, especially in the midst of a recession is not a good idea.
Obama cares more about his ego than doing what is right for US, that is the one thing that is constant and consistent in his presidency.
The stimulus was rushed through, not read and scare tactics were used & the results were poor. Unemployment up. More taxes.Loss of hope.
