I think that the melodies with guitars are somewhat better, but as for a singer.. I really like Angela's live sound, but in this album however, it could be better. I definitely like the original one more than this, but for sure, this version isn't bad.

Johan hasn't been in the band since 98'? 2000? Why is anyone even bringing his name up? It's 2011 people, lets move on. They are two totally different styles and things change; I liked them both but Angela is a much stronger lead and I think AE is that much stronger because of her.

I love this band. These musicians are simply phenomenal. Regardless of what you think of Angela, I am without doubt that Michael, Chris, Sharlee, and Daniel have only become more godlike in their playing since the days of Mr. Liiva. These guys are amazing, and that is that.

The album is very nice although i don't like the guitar sound. They sound too soft, at the older records (I don't only mean the albums before angela, all of them) the sound was more dirty, had more power. But that's only my opinion, depends on what who likes.

Instrumentalist sounded better on the Black Earth album, although it's not so bad right now, I like Angela's Vocals, but I prefer Liiva's... still, I wouldn't mind, if they didn't change the "Sound" in this song a bit... I wish it was like on Black Earth, just louder and with better quality.

I think Its because they heared it first along time ago. And they have memories of the old version. But I have been folowing this band for along time. And I prefer this version. I just think the vocals fit a little more for this type of sound. Anyway check out a kickass Melodic Death Metal Band from the states

I don't know why so many people prefer the old AE. Angela is so fucking awesome, that it's just impossible to compare her with other female metal vocalists... Liiva was great, but Angela is better. She's just a woman with balls ;p.

Angels is better, but the older songs were instrumentally better and more raw, anthems of rebellion is the unquestionable masterpiece, but it's only 10 tracks, wages of sin is 22 tracks and every track is incredible ;D thats my opinion anyway

Morbid Angel kicks ass, and so does old Arch Enemy... Can't believe Angela decided to do an entire album on covers of their own songs, kind of strange if you ask me but it's still pretty good. Faster and more melodic then the original but i still prefer the originals of course.

Probably because they had already re-recorded it for Burning Bridges, and they said that the original version is perfect doesn't have to be touched up. Angelclaw is the best Liiva-song btw :P

Hmm it just does not sound right to me, like I said it sounds very mechanical when compared to the old recordings, most of the songs I think sound better with that slightly muddier tone. That said its always great to hear new solos from the Amott brothers so its worth the purchase for that alone. Best..vibrato...EVAR!
