I fly both, and we have a nice airport, but I am not about to 3d it right over the runway were I know the planes go back and fourth when I can just move to the side since I can fly were ever I want. But ours has two runways and the helis stay over on one and the planes on the main one. How ever if I was in the plane I would have known what the heli was doing and stayed clear out of respect for others and there safety. Glad no one was hurt.
Wow, what an amazing shot! I really feel for you, man. T-Rex 600s are so expensive, I spent so much time considering the expense before I went I got mine. To have it destroyed in this manner is so frustrating, did the other pilot pay for the damage?
If a planker crashed into my heli I would kick the living snot out of the pilot. For those idiots here who says it was the helis fault you need to get your eyes checked and watch the video again and realize that it was the plank that ran right into the heli and not the other way around.
Very Nice flying. I feel the planker was at fault being the Great 3d Heli pilot was in a small area the whole time. I have to side with the Heli pilot. I fly both as well
I know its sucks, but that was the most amazing RC crash I have ever seen. I have a Trex 600N, so I feel you on the cost of repairs... But nevertheless amazing.
I think the airplane pilot thought he was high enough to go over the heli. The heli was fairly low for a while then suddenly increased altitude. Oh well, thats flying for you sometimes!!
its funny that people call helicopter pilots runway hogs and there is a lot of airplane pilots making low passes and hovering above the runway also, not all heli pilots fly off the deck.
Excellent flying! Anyone annoyed by it has no perspective! Also, though expensively sad, this video makes me laugh every time I see it. Spectacular crash!!! :-)
very nice vid and i would have fliped my lid for fucking my trex 600 up that a 2000$ heli man ur a great pilot though cant wait to hit up 3d like that
Definitely planes fault. I've flown planes before and sometimes depth perception can be difficult. None the less spectacular 3D skills with the Heli! Anyone saying you aren't good simply doesn't fly or just sucks at life in general. My sincere apologies for the loss. Was anything salvageable? Great video coverage too btw!
Are you some sort of twat? The guy flying the helicopter was in a small area minding his own business, you could see the plane early on in the vid and it was nowhere near the helicopter, he didn't need to get so close and cause the crash, I blame the numpty with the plane, and it probably belonged to the idiot who posted the last comment.

Typical disrespect from a '3D' heli pilot. Planes need the runway to land, heli's don't. You're hogging the critical air that they need, you don't. Yes, I fly both. The field SHOULD establish a heli area for that stuff.
There does need to be rules and procedures to avoid this kind of crash. I do wonder if the plank flier looked around. Really nice heli flying before the big splat.
some nice 3D flying action there jetjockjoe45 and I must say - 10 out of 10 to the planker for such good aiming skills - and really, who gives a flying f@#k who's fault it is - it happened and was caught on video = priceless :)
We also don't allow planes to 3D over the runway when other planes are flying just for that reason. I do get to fly my TRex 600 over the runway from time to time to practice my autos, but there are no airplanes in the sky. BTW, great flying.
Depends on where the heli was flying. If that was the runway, the heli should not have been doing 3d over the runway unless it had been cleared. I fly both planks and helis at my field. We also are fortunate to have enough space so that helicopters and airplanes have their own airspace.
Accidents happen, each aircraft owner should pay their own expenses... no one was at fault, and his flying style surely didn't cause the crash... It's easy for someone like mondoman561 to be a complete asshole on youtube when they have no videos.
The great thing about heli crashes is you can always find parts, where as plane crashes usually result in a rekit. That heli will fly again, that plane will not.
Soooo, I never claimed to be a good pilot but what your saying doesn't hold water. 2 seconds before the crash I was at the same altitude, I diped down then back up to the original altitude and wham. The airplane did a low pass right over me and the rest is history. I just don't understand how the not so perfect flying style got me a crash. The airplane should never have gotten so close.

Actually, no, it was the heli pilot's fault. Classic case of a guy who spends a lot of time learning 3D on a sim, but not enough time practicing in real life. His flying was sloppy, he kept drifting back from the fligtline, and his control of altitude/position was poor.
That was definitely the planks fault!! The heli stayed in his own "box" while doing his manuevers and the plank obviously flew directly into the heli!! At our field, the planker would be covering the repair cost on the heli!!
Helicopter pilot's fault imo. Shouldn't be permanently dancing around the main strip like that.

I'd say both are equally at fault, the plane pilot for flying so close to the heli, and the heli pilot for hogging the bloody runway, amazing crash.

WHO WAS UP FIRST?? THAT PLANE HAD PLENTY OF TIME TO BE AWARE OF THE HELI AND WAS OBVIOUSLY TRING TO STAY AWAY EARLY IN THE VIDEO.
THE HELI HAD CONTROL OF THE AIRSPACE IN MY OPINION.. BUT DAMN!! i REALLY ENJOYED THAT VID FOR THE 5TH TIME
777mikee 1 year ago
Even though the aircraft cuased the crash. The heli shouldn't be such a runway hog.
We have a seperate heli acrobatic area just for this reason. Planes and heli don't mix! Oh well Shit Happens.

Very nice flying! You're an excellent pilot, not so many are capable of these tic tocs.
This is obviously the plank's fault, you were quite at the same spot and the plane just flies into your heli full speed out of nowhere...
Keep practising tic tocks when she's back in the air! Try to do it without any plane around...
