  • Target Head Morbid!!!!

  • @MrKickboxer24 Double-head Morbid!

  • This sounds more like a dark assassin is coming to kill me no matter where I hide.

    I'M FUCKING DEAD ALREADY.

  • You should hear the lyrics in english (up on here somewhere) makes the song messy but you hear the lyrics they are utterly insane

  • at 0:58 that sounds fucking good

  • This is awesomeness that asks for nothing in return but faces of the listeners in awe!

  • alot heavier than the x2 version thats for sure.

  • Napalm Death + a Korg EMX or something similar = this.

  • Why did they change this for X2? Venom's theme in X was beyond kickass: it was darker, stronger, and didn't hit you nearly as hard before he got started. The original reflects his personality better!

  • Truth, the likes of which takes respectable effort to write in such concise words. +1'd!

  • @kadajsnightqueen I must argue your statement: The X1 version represents a FACET of Venom's personality better. Sure, he's an assassin, but only because Zato wanted it. The X2 version better shows his calmer, classier side. This one shows him getting down, dirty and busy on his hapless hits.

I honestly plan to write a little thing on this subject in the form of fan literature. I hope it will illustrate my point better.

  • @DarkX64 It's just an opinion. I prefer the GGX version because it starts out with more of a threat, a siren that just gets the blood pumping, knowing that something's coming and it'll hit hard when it does. It's a perfect reflection for him, being an assassin and all. It also differentiates him from Zato, who - as in his theme - gives little to no warning before he gets started. Venom's more threatening in his personality than Zato is, and his GGX theme reflects that.

  • @DarkX64 What I dislike about the GGX2 version Venom's theme is simple: it's too overbearing. It hits you with a blast of noise, sharper than the original, and just takes off without any buildup. To me, it doesn't suit him as much. It lacks the threatening, spine-chilling quality that a good theme for him needs, considering that he is, in his own way, a very intimidating guy. One of my favorites, but I certainly wouldn't want to meet him in a dark alley at night!

  • @kadajsnightqueen But note, my point of disagreement with you is on the fact that Venom IS NOT a killer by nature. He's good at it, but he's often reluctant to kill and, as I stated, he does so for Zato. Hence, what Venom really needs is a blend of the two versions: Periods of calm followed by intense moments of concentration. He's NOT all killer and some of his endings have him opting to drop the whole assassin business anyhow.

  • @DarkX64 I never said he was a killer. I said he's more intimidating than Zato is, and the thing about intimidation is that it can be a very quiet threat, which is usually more effective than an in-your-face confrontation. I think the only person Venom would kill without a moment's pause - Jam's 3rd X2 ending aside - would be Millia, and "Existence" works well to convey that. The X theme has that quiet beginning, which could easily be a metaphor for Venom psyching himself up to kill.

  • @DarkX64 Actually, there is a theme that I think suits him even better than GGX's. Have you heard the Korean GGX2 soundtrack? Some of the themes in that game fit the characters better, and Venom's is, in my opinion, among them. His song is "Keeper of the Unknown;" look it up if you haven't already. Zato's Korean theme, "Dementia," and Testament's theme, "In the Arms of Death," are also really suited to their characters. It's more synth than rock, but it works very well all the same.

  • @kadajsnightqueen I still need to give those songs a listen, but I will. Interested in hearing what they sound like. :)
