Invoked ancient, great memories of our family dairy farm and all of the barn cats and border collies. My brother and I took pride in being able to squeeze that milk cows teat and squirt a stream of milk into the cats' open mouths. LOL Have two barn cats resident in our horse barn currently, a Siamese and an orange tabby.
Terrific song and video. Our old farm cat--not just the barn, but the whole farm--of decades ago, "Calico," was friendly to others who belonged on the farm (whether human, feline, canine, equine, or bovine), a fine mother to her kittens, and worked for a living (position: "mouser," along with hunting innumerable other small pests). That puts her three points ahead of too many humans.
THIS IS FOR YOU, CALICO! I'LL SEE YOU AT THE RAINBOW BRIDGE!
my cat loves to sleep all over! she also used to be an outsider 24/7 untill an accident happened to another of our ather cats and since then shes been an inside cat/outside cat. We dont want to lose another close family member :(
That's my riding horse Nikki. She's a breeding stock paint and such a sweetie. She was started using NH but we switched to CT in '98. She's a big girl...especially compared to the minis LOL.
Thanks Doris! So you've got a tabby too? The neat thing is that "Chickie" was a rescue and has since really blossomed. She's not quite as "rough around the edges" as the cat in the song, but that's OK too LOL.
I have a barn cat, and I don't even have a barn! ;D xoxoxo

Cute cat! Loved her playing with the paint pony. Reminds me of some of my beloved barn cats, some used to ride in the wheelbarrow on the hay bales.

Sorry to hear about your kitty....I actually lock up this cutie every night. She stays in the barn so she's safer.

Her name is "Chickie." She was an indoor cat that really needed the outdoor life so the original owners gave her to me. Lucky me!
